The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills‘ Lisa Vanderpump says she is ‘absolutely devastated’ after falling out with her long-time friend and ‘permanent house guest’, Cedric Martinez.
Cedric and Lisa
A friend of the couple for 15 years, he has lived with them ever since they moved to LA from their native London some years ago. But things have now soured between the trio.
Time for you to move on, Cedric…
And on Tuesday’s RHOBH reunion show, Lisa burst into tears over the anguish Martinez has caused her family.
She and Ken are now speaking in depth about his terrifying threats. ‘We treated him like family,’ Lisa told Us Weekly magazine. ‘I feel absolutely betrayed.’ According to her and Ken, their former house-guest tried to blackmail the wealthy couple. Threatening to sell his story to the tabloids for cash, Martinez and Ken had a confrontation.

I said, Are you after money?‘ explains Ken. ‘And Cedric said, ‘I am not asking for money, but I haven’t got any, and I’ve been offered to sell my story to the magazines. I can say anything I want.‘ Ken says Martinez threats even escalated to violent threats. ‘He said, ‘The last time I was this angry. I stabbed my father.’
According to the couple, the threats started back in June when they first approached Martinez about his laziness after living for a year-and-a-half rent-free in their home. During the confrontation, Martinez apparently stormed out, again threatening to sell his story. The couple took in Martinez in 15 years ago and made him part of their family. They met the him when he began working in their then London club, The Shadow Lounge. After hearing his tragic story about growing up on the streets of Paris with his mother, a French prostitute, Lisa took him under her wing.
Since then Martinez has been living the high life. Travelling all over the world with the couple and their two children, he also accompanied the family when they moved to the US in 2004, with Lisa and Ken even paying for his visa so he could begin a career in modelling. ‘We said he could live with us until he got on his feet,’ explains Ken.
But as time rolled on, Martinez was still living off the couple. ‘We paid for his phone, he used our car,’ explains Ken. ‘He never contributed.’ He says Martinez’s attitude began to from the moment filming for the reality show began. ‘He became jealous. He wanted to be the seventh housewife. He was desperate to be on the camera.’

Ken even goes so far as to allude that his sob story about his broken home in Paris may all be a lie. ‘He told Lisa he didn’t have any family,’ he says. ‘He charmed us.’ In the finale episode of the reality show, Lisa and Ken are seen finally tell Martinez that it’s time for him to leave. Since then, there have been several reports about Martinez being homeless and broke.
But it doesn’t look like Lisa will be shedding any tears. The striking brunette says is crushed and vows she will never speak to him again. ‘I feel like part of my life is gone,’ she says. For his part, Martinez has defended his actions and refuted the couple’s claims. ‘She’s not who you think she is. She’s a diva,’ he told US Weekly, ‘I was like their toy. This is what they do, then they get bored.’
Lisa and Ken have been married for 29 years… they own over 26 restaurants, including the celebrity hot spot Villa Blanca, which is known as the sexiest restaurant in Beverly Hills.
NOTE: There are always sides of stories that only the people involved are aware of… which seems to be the case with the Todds and Cedric. Interesting that Cedric says, “The last time I was this angry. I stabbed my father”… Didn’t Cedric say that he did not know his father and the last time he saw his prostitute mother was when she left him as a boy in a phone booth? What does Cedric mean when he says that ‘this is what they do when they get bored’? Was there an agreement between Ken, Lisa and Cedric regarding employment in their home… otherwise, why was he complaining about being paid in ‘flowers and puppies’? As reader ‘HousewifeHater’ pointed out, when a foreign national applies for a US visa, the person/organization that sponsors him is responsible for finding the applicant housing and employment before the visa is issued. (see: http://www.ehow.com/list_6458481_visa-joint-sponsorship-risks.html) As a sponsor, when you sign the Affidavit of Support, you accept legal responsibility for financially supporting the sponsored immigrant until they become U.S. citizens or can be credited with 40 quarters of work. If Lisa sponsored Cedric’s immigration, are she and Ken still responsible for Cedric’s housing and employment until the requirement is met? If so, how can the reports of Cedric being homeless and broke be true? IMO, there is a lot more to this squabble than either Lisa, Ken or Cedric is letting us know…
