Date Of Birth: March 27, 1962
At present, Vicki is married to her second husband Donn Gunvalson, who is an executive at a shipping company. She has two children – Michael, now 22, who attends the University of Colorado, Boulder and Briana, now 21, who is in nursing school.
Vicki is often perceived as a dominant force in her family, even admitting herself to having control issues but maintains it is this very characteristic that has brought about her success and desired lavish lifestyle. In the third season of The Real Housewives of Orange County, however, she and her husband had to purchase a smaller home in Coto with the goal to downsize and simplify their lives.
Still, The Real Housewives of Orange County repeatedly depicts Vickie associating financial success and material possessions with personal triumph just like when she explained that she divorced her first husband because he could not provide the lifestyle she wanted.
December 8, 2010:
Vicki is one of the original “Real Housewives.” The self-employed insurance agent has seen her business multiply, and now has 498 agents working for her. She still lives in Coto de Caza, but now operates out of her office in Rancho Santa Margarita.
Vicki has two grown children – Michael, 22, and Briana, 21. Michael graduates from the University of Colorado at Boulder next month, and Briana is finishing nursing school. Michael is considering entering Vicki’s financial and insurance world, while Briana is looking toward the military to continue her nursing work.
“My business has grown to a level that it never would have been able to without the show,” said Vicki, 46. “It’s a huge success. I feel blessed and I’m happy and life is full right now.” Meanwhile, Vicki has patched things up with her second husband, Don Gunvalson. Last season, their relationship was strained by her hectic lifestyle and she entertained some thoughts on camera about being single again.
“Don is a patient man,” she said. “I don’t give him a lot of attention, and every man needs that. He loves me. He’s just a good person, and I’m really blessed to have him.” During season four, Vicki will continue to pursue a very busy schedule, filled with travel and business deals on her laptop and hand-held digital devices when she’s supposed to be relaxing. She is seriously considering buying a $1 million yacht, but that would mean selling the Lake Havasu house that some family members cherish.
Vicki generally feels that the show has been a godsend. But she does have one regret.”Sometimes I wish I didn’t expose my marriage issues as much as I do,” she said. “I was caught in the moment. I should have left that a little bit more private.”
On December 7, 2009, Vicki’s autobiograpy, More Than Housewife, was published. The book describes her struggles and accomplishments in life that has helped her become the person she is today.
She also has a DVD Internet Life Insurance Selling Made Easy that provides tips on how be successful.
