Lea and Roy Black
Deeply loved, occasionally uncompromising, but universally respected, this Texas native is leaving an indelible mark on Miami. Lea acts as CEO to her private enterprise firm, but it is her charitable efforts that have garnered her the most attention and praise. It was fifteen years ago that she developed the idea of her and her husband, Roy Black’s annual charity gala. The charity event raises money for The Consequences Charity, which is dedicated to helping children in need. Lea is known for her innate ability to motivate people to help the children and the organizations that support them.
Married to one of the top criminal defense attorneys in the country, Roy Black, and raising their 9-year-old son, Lea has a reputation as a community leader. She raised money for President Barack Obama during his 2008 presidential campaign as well as many other local Florida politicians, and spends a majority of her time working towards the success of her own beloved charity.
