Great news for everyone who is a fan of Tabatha Coffey!
We’ve been a fan of Tabatha since she was a contestant on “Shear Genius”… we can spot talent when we seez it… and think Tabatha is one ferocious (in a good way) chick!!
“Tabatha Takes Over” premieres April 4… according to BravoTV.com!
NOTE: While we are definitely fans of Tabatha… her show, “TabathaTakesOver” has gone the way of many “reality” shows and has become formulaic. You can see the very same formula used by Gordon Ramsey’s “KitchenNightmares”; Robert Irvine’s ”RestaurantImpossible; Anthony Melchiorri’s “HotelImpossible”!
What made Tabatha’s “reality” show a step above the usual formulaic pap was what she did in the first season of ”TabathaTakesOver”… when her show was called “Tabatha’s Salon Takeover”… Tabatha actually reviewed the hair stylist’s work and gave professional hair cutting critiques to the stylist. Tabatha also showed the stylist the correct technique to be used to attain the look the client wanted.
Now that Tabatha is ‘taking over’ any business that writes into Bravo looking for her help, the hair styling tips have been replaced by the usual ‘let’s take these people out for some teamwork building’!! Maybe getting back to her roots would be the rinse necessary for some of the flakier businesses that Tabatha has to deal with! We would love to see all these other “take over” shows be shown the door and let Tabatha take over!!
Tabatha doesn’t want to be associated with the Housewives… as can clearly be seen when Tabatha was in the green room during last season’s “Real Housewives of New York”!
Sonja… with a “J”… could not hear her name being called to come to the podium. And it looks like Tabatha don’t want the camera near her!
I thought that Tabatha was great even though she came in 6th(!) during her Sheer Genius run. That was a big error of judgement. She had more talent than anyone else. I like her brazen style of giving her very educated opinions. She transformed the salons into wonderful success stories. Unfortunately, when she was taken out of the salon, her show suffered. I wish Bravo didn’t mess with her success. Her brand was as unique as her personal style.
P.S. It proves that Bravo can turn gold into lead.
I always liked Tabatha. Have one of her seasons on dvd. She’s spunky & you can tell she wants whats best for the salon owners even if the owners themselves are clueless or opposed to change. I hate to see Bravo sink her show.
Bar Rescue is not a bad takeover show.Mystery Diner has a ring of truth to it.Tabatha should stay with her profession and not venture out into other fields.She is spreading her talent too thin.Stick with what you know.
Hate how on the takeover shows they state the business is within 30 days or so of shutting down for lack of money.Kinda too late to get the miracle you would need to keep the doors open.Owners working for no paycheck and that is their only job is a crock of bull too.A lot of smoke and mirrors there too.I have always wanted the T.V. shows to go back in a year to see what has happened to businesses they have help renovated.The show that really gets me was Extreme Home Makeover with Tye Pennington.Giving people a new more expensive home to operate when there is no $$ and new vehicles to insure and upkeep blows my mind.Double or tripling the size of your house increases home insurance/utilities/maintenance.I would bet some have sold and downsized. Would bet some of the free stuff like T.V.s/computers/applicances and furniture have been sold too.Makes no sense to give people that have nothing alot of great stuff and they not know how to handle it all at once.Like winning the lottery.Money can burn a hole in some people’s hands.
I never watched the show. Looks like it’s something I may delve into this year.
Tabitha should take over Tamera Barney’s gym. That would be fun to watch. Or Richie’s gas station. Or Alexis tramoline place. Or Kyle’s dress shop. Or SonJa’s house(?!!?!?) Or Cynthia’s modling agency. But mostly I just like seeing her take over salons.
Haaaaahaaaahaaaa, she should take over Tamballs gym, because that would be so funny to view on camera…Tabitha vs Tammy Sue….Game over, ding ding ding,.ding. guess who is the winner?!

LOL! Bravo wouldn’t have to scout new locations or pay extra people. They have failures aplenty, in house. An entire season could be made from your great ideas! the first episode could be called, “TAB vs TAM”!
I was wondering what happened to her and her show? Great news can’t wait for the show’s premire April 4th.
