“Jodi Arias is charged in the June 2008 stabbing and shooting death of her lover in his suburban Phoenix home. Arias claims self-defense, while authorities say she planned the attack on Travis Alexander in a jealous rage. Testimony has been ongoing since early January.
Arias, 32, lost a bid last week aimed at getting a reprieve from a potential death sentence if convicted of first-degree murder after the Arizona Supreme Court swiftly denied her motion that claimed a detective committed perjury in the case. Her attorneys have filed multiple motions for mistrials, all of which have been denied.
Last week, prosecutor Juan Martinez hammered Arias with intense questioning about her inability to recall crucial details in the case, yet noted it was puzzling that she can remember “what kind of coffee you bought at Starbucks sometime back in 2008.”
Arias first told authorities she knew nothing about Alexander’s death, then later blamed it on masked intruders before eventually settling on self-defense.
She said she was scared of being arrested, had been contemplating suicide and didn’t want to sully Alexander’s name with accounts of his violent behavior and lurid details of their sexual relationship, given his public persona as a devout Mormon who was saving himself for marriage.
Of the day she killed Alexander, Arias says she remembers him in a rage, body slamming her and chasing her around his home.
She said she grabbed a gun from his closet, and fired it as they tussled, but didn’t know if she hit him. She had no explanation for the 27 stab and slash wounds he suffered, or his slit throat, or how he ended up stuffed in his shower.
According to court records, however, she previously told police before her trial began that Alexander was unconscious after she shot him, but then “crawled around and was stabbed.”
She says she remembers putting a knife in the dishwasher and disposing of the gun in the desert as she drove from Arizona on her way to Utah. And she immediately began planning an alibi.
Arias’ grandparents reported a .25 caliber handgun stolen from their Northern California house about a week before the killing – the same caliber used to shoot Alexander – but Arias claims to know nothing about the burglary. She says she brought no weapons to Alexander’s home on the day she killed him, undercutting the prosecution’s theory of premeditation.”
What is so disturbing is how absolutely cold and calm Jodi Arias is when answering questions on the stand! How does Jodi smirk and smile when talking about a person who was killed.. and Jodi killed Travis!
Keep in mind that in Arizona, the jury gets to ask Jodi questions… that should be interesting!
It occurred to me that all the time Jodi has spent on the stand has been longer than Kim Kardashian’s marriage to Kris Humphries!
And lying, manipulative, psycho Jodi is enjoying every moment of her infamy as she takes her sweet time answering questions or baiting Martinez as he goes about winnowing out the truth.
How anyone with half a brain can believe this fantastic story of “self defense” is beyond comprehension but she seems to have gathered a few “fans” who insist she was a battered woman, psychologically forced into this relationship that led to this brutal murder.
Poor Travis, just another delusional male who believed he was involved with a “f**k buddy” and not a lunatic who was pushing for marriage. When she finally saw this seduction was going nowhere she murdered him in cold blood, lied to protect herself, invented a “story” to cover every base, and has now become the “star” of her own show.
Just hoping the jury is smart enough to see through this miasma of lies and sends her butt to the gas chamber, or at least life with absolutely no chance of parole.
She is “fascinating” from the sense that she has no shame or remorse as she repeats her sexual exploits in full view of her mother and the public while taking some measure of delight in doing so.

I realllllly doubt this gal will learn anything from this trial. She’s convinced herself that this was his fault. Can’t or won’t see the very facts that she created. One question. Looking at her now, I mean she’s one of the worst out there looking types I’ve seen. Some like this hide it well but she’s not one of them. So question is, how did this guy not see something was wrong here. I mean 27 wounds? That’s beyond the pale even for a criminal type. You have to wonder if there were no signs or if the guy was just a really , really bad judge of character. ??

Also, another bit of info I find interesting is where she was headed after she killed the guy! She went and met some random guy in another state & stayed with him! Not even 24 hrs after killing him, she went & acted completely normal, messing around with this other guy!!!!
The girl is a manipulative, conniving, EVIL person & I PRAY that the jury can see this!!
Yikes! Words our nephew said about his wife before he was eventually murdered by her too!! He said something to the effect of, “I could fend her off if she tried to kill me with anything, except for a gun,” which is what she ended up killing him with. This makes me sick……..

The DA is on top of his game today and he is cutting her off when he asks a yes or no question and Arias attempts to add more. Arias is looking like an absolute idiot today!!! So many lies and you can tell Arias is begining to show some temper as she is barbing Martinez and he is NOT taking the bait and longer. This is exactly what I’ve been waiting to see! Go Martinez…you have hit your stride!!
Oh YES! Her temper (AND guilt) showed what she snipped at him that he was jumping around. I hope he points out in closing that the reason that irritated Jodi so bad is because it makes it harder for her to keep er stories straight. The truth is the truth all day long and him jumpin from topic to topic would NOT rattle a truthful witness. But Joodi? It rocked her hard.
I’m seriously concerned about the cross examination. Martinez is desperately trying to get Jodi to fully admit to things in every question. She is NOT going comply. I feel he’s going to lose the attention of the jury this way. Hopefully, they stay engaged; they can see her meandering bull shit as well as we can. Instead of this tedious attempt to get her onto a linear narrative now, his closing arguments should be able to cover her squirmy word manipulations.
Don’t forget, they charged her with the death penalty so he must ferret out the lies that led her to Mesa that day in order to show it was premeditated.
She may never have a “Perry Mason” moment by “confessing” to her lies, but he is showing a magnificent cross examination by showing this to the jury that every single thing she has said or done has led to this charge being made.
She painted Travis as a deviant pedophile who abused her both physically and psychologically that caused her to kill him in “self defense” but he is showing that she is a brazen liar with pathological tendencies who stalked her prey from the moment she laid eyes on him.
He is preparing the groundwork for next week when the psychological experts get up on the stand and “sanctify” her actions under the guise of a battered woman which she never was. That is why he keeps “chipping away” at every statement she has ever uttered concerning this relationship.
He could be the blueprint to every first year law student in the art of cross examination in that he has never lost focus, has his facts all lined up, and never loses the thread of where he wishes to take the jury to its final conclusion.
This woman committed a heinous act of revenge that went far above self defense and that should be first and foremost in the minds of jurors. Hopefully.

I hope that because she is charged with fist degree murder and the sentence would be death, that we don’t end up with a casey Anthony problem. For the jury she got off because the prosecution over charged her. It was pretty obvious to the world she was guilty
How did she carry him into the shower though?? I’ve only seen yesterday’s testimony and a tiny portion of today’s (too upsetting), but I’m trying to figure out how one small woman could do all of that damage to one man AND carry him off and stuff him in a shower??

I hope that he points out the journal entry written ,according to her 3 days after big bad Travis broke it didn’t look like it was written by someone with a freshly broke ring finger on her left hand. Hand writing expert should be called. She MUST know this is coming because she went to great lengths to ay “depending on the activity…” when questioned about her left handedness. I noticed she took a sip of her water today with left hand. Maybe the throat slitting was done right handed because she stubbed her finger on the 29 stabs.

Marginally related, every time she references a specific brand or type of thing (Starbucks, Mormonism, Calvin Klein), probably anyone related to brand recognition for that entity is having a bad combination of nausea and a heart attack.

Speaking of Mormons feeling nauseous…. Can we talk about the wildly inappropriateness of the Christian Mingle commercial the network keeps running during the trial coverage? The underlying message is”Hey consumer, if you are gonna hook up, make it a christian, yall see what happens when Mormons get together.” I say this as a christian that its not the time or place to be rubbing salt in the wounds of the Mormon community. In fact given the nature of this trial ANY dating service commercial is inappropriate IMO. And as sick as I am of that Try Neat commercial I would rather see that run back to back.

I can only watch the commentaries, it would be too much for me to watch the trial, sickening, I dunno how you can watch DONE after what you’ve just been thru. Girlfriend: I only saw some of it yesterday and a tiny bit today, and I’m done (so to speak). Yes, it’s bothersome and upsetting to me, as is watching ANYTHING with blood, guns, violence, etc…… I keep away from it all.
My prayer has been answered…Arias had a meltdown today thanks to the DA. Martinez is brilliant! I think he did an outstanding job making it known that she could not have done the things she did immediately following the murder had she been in a so-called fog. Arias was totally aware of every calculated move she made right down to dumping the gun, supposedly, in the desert. She would not have been covering her tracks if she weren’t fully aware of what she had done. That bitch without a soul knew every stab wound, throat slit and shot she made, followed by her poor attempt at a coverup. Next week should be very interesting because her attorney has a huge task ahead of him. I don’t believe there is any way he can possibly undo the damage the DA has left him.

I have been following the trial and I haven’t seen any evidence that she was abused. If I’ve missed something then enlighten me. I’m not being sarcastic.What I have seen is constant lies and that makes it impossible to take her word and only her word for anything.Being a victim of emotional and physical abuse I am more than anyone in that situation. Trust me there always is a trail of evidence if you’ve been abused.
I’ve not watched everday-needed a break from her sex concert, but I’m pretty sure there’s no evidence of abuse-not even verbal. It’s not mentioned in her journals and there are no police reports to indicate she was abused. She could probably get her mom and aunt to say Travis abused her. I’m interested in what kind of expert the defense pulls to support her claims.
If you listen to the phone calls she really does enjoy the rough sex talk, I would say she encourages it. She is giggling throughout and keeps it going even when Travis seems tired of it. I still can’t believe that she is even on the stand.

Jodi tried to get a message out to her former boyfriend Matt via a photography magazine. She was also “smart enough” to include the Star tabloid that held the numbers to the pages she had written her message on.
They were confiscated by the jailers and was seen as an attempt to coerce Matt into changing his testimony in the preliminary hearings about the “handprints” he is alleged to have witnessed on her neck when she returned from killing Travis. (Like about 5-6 days later when commonsense would suggest that had they been there at all they would more than likely have faded!)
Apparently Matt was not totally onboard with that event so she tried to “influence” his testimony beforehand. Interesting to see if the prosecution calls him as a rebuttal witness.

In case Made is away….the forged letters,,,,there are 2 I believe written by Matt at jodi’s request of course…..jodi’s mother tried to sell them to the National Enquirer but unfortunately they have been proven to be more of jodi’s lies….the letters supposedly written by Travis to “prove” he was a pedophile….nurmi tried to introduce them and that’s when a handwriting expert deemed them forged…they were only copies….the uh hum “originals” weren’t available….

not only that but jodi’s mother had the GALL to complain about Travis’ siblings crying when they showed the autopsy photos….the judge admonished the gallery to show no emotion….
Do we know why she was so enraged? I have only caught pieces of this trial. I told my son if this happened to him I would kill her myself. How does his family listen to this crazy woman? Any man should take note in listening to the phone calls between Travis and Jodi, she showed her crazy then. All the pix,video and phone convos show a very strange and abnormal woman and Travis should have listened to his gut.
While Travis was allegedly still having sex with Jodi he was taking another girl to Cancun, and she lost it when she couldn’t convince him to take her instead. Travis should absolutely have listened to his gut. One of his friends said Travis told him he was in way over his head with Jodi, and that leads to a slew of other questions.
The rope is confusing. I thought she insisted he tied her up for a practical reason why the knife was in the bathroom. Why drag him from the bathroom-to look like he “chased” her? She stressed the rope was too long, reached from bed to bathroom and said she slid her hands from the nooses, but what’s the point? If the rope was there, where’s the rest of it? Why toss non-bloodied rope? If he tied her up she should know what the rope was tied to.

I’m actually convinced Hoedi Airyass was so obsessed with Travis she wanted to morph herself to become him. Everyone and everything else in her world became irrelevant and unimportant from the moment she met him.

SH and writers, confession here, you have managed to convince me to read about the arias trial. I am not up to speed, however, very compelled to express my opinion. I know nothing about trial law, so forgive me please if you think my comments are dumb. 1. I agree she should get the death penalty, ASAP. I’m an accountant so, the bottom line is $$$$. She will cost tax payers if they give her life. I have a feelings she will not get death. Our society are panzies and seldome give that out to women. 2. Question, can someone please tell me how she pays her lawyer if she was always broke and had no assets? Is this a state appointed attorney? Being uneducated, even if she gets off and goes back to work, she will never make enough in three lifetimes to pay this off. 3. I watched yesterday’s feed #1, that ‘talking in circles’ is remarkable, it makes some court gallery people silently laugh at her ridiculous answers. The jury must be tired of that. I now understand your comments about her back talking. 4. I can see the wheels turning in her lawyers head, “she is digging her own grave, this is going to hurt my career”. 5. If my husband only knew….the gory details don’t gross me out, I must be sick. I can’t wail until lawyers examine the forensic expert witnesses. 6. Every time she stalls to answer the questions she is looking up towards the ceiling, that jesture is commonly known while lies are being formulated. 7. Can some one tell me why she only directs her eyes to the jury while answering questions? 8. I share the same feeling as you do, I shed a few tears for Travis and his family. What a shame, he seems like a nice kid. God speed. 9. She should have just given up her lies, begged for forgiveness and shown true grief and remorse. I’m sure she went insane during her planning and execution, but I’m prolly wrong and she is a hard core psychopath. 10. What city did she rent the car from? What other towns did she drive to besides pheonix? Does anyone know the other town names she drove to? (You know, brother and the other guy). How did she rack up 2850 miles on that car? Assuming she left right after she rented the car, at 65 miles per hour that is 44 hours of driving not incliding gas and rest stopping, in less than 5 days. There are few people that have that much stamina…I call that a murder bender.

Ryan Burns, I think is his name…he’s already testified she came to visit him….he testified she got on top of him, clothed, and “adjusted” him….(I’ve learned a few terms during this trial..lol) I went to you tube and googled Jodi Arias trial Ryan Burns and it came right up….he said she was strong….nurmi keeps giving hand signals to jodi….it’s disgusting and unethical but I don’t think it’s going to save her….I am going to have to move to the moon if this is another casey verdict…

Her attorney is a appointed by the state. Meaning he is not a public defender but she is being defended on the pubic dime. Sick as it sounds a death penalty would be MORE expensive in terms of upkeep due to the appeals that drag out and tax payers will be paying ot those too. She deserves the death penalty. And then she deserves an inmate shanking her in shower… this would be that most cost effective method of dealing woth her. But …. will settle for death penalty.
I agree with the punishment. Interesting point about the appeals delaying the process, so this hell bound monster is costing tax payers at least a million + for the first 5 years alone. If she is not convicted, the wise population in this country will KNOW our justice system is BROKEN. I’m with you on the Casey jurors, they should be ashamed. I hope they get nasty letters for their entire life.
If jodi is the claiming self defense, why does travis have the self defense slashes on HIS hands, his thumbs are almost cut off, big ass slashes on them from a knife? She dosen’t have self defense markings, bruises or cuts. She seems she got to leave in her car looking just as she came there minus the broken finger of course she said that happened on another day, yeah right. she should of used that finger as her self defense and said he kicked her the day of the killing not another day. That would show he did harm her in some way but she knew she broke that finger killing him so she wants to distance that finger from that day.
I hope they bring in an orthapedic surgeon to examine her finger. A crushing break(from a 200+ lb man stomping on it) would look way different than a finger stubbed up on a lovers backbone as you plunge knife in up to the hilt. And make Jodi demonstrate what she claims happended wth her finger. I betch she will have Travis contorting into all manner of cartoon moves in order to break it the way the medical people will say its broke. Or the Cirque du Soleil move that would have HAD to go down for her to have reached the phantom gun by standing on one foot without disturbing anything in the nanseconds of time it would have taken.
The kicker is this, her memory issue on when she took her bags out to the car. Supposedly she did it before the calvin klien photo shoot but she cant remember when. Mind you this is way prior to the knifing fog. She is being evasive on that on purpose. She had her papaws gun on him in that shower IMO. I think Juan did such a fantastic job of getting her to admit that she knew she had done something wrong to Travis…even in her fog…..she knew she had to protect herself by taking the gun, knive(s) (she had 2 knives and a gun in her car….she tried to clean the mess….put the sheets and his clothes in the washing machine….I think leaving the camera behind was a total accident…and I think all those pictures it took on its own? could only be divine intervention unless she set the camera to take at intervals so she would have pics of the murder…she’s pure evil…
I also read somewhere…heard on TV…not sure where….but Juan kept saying the “killing” of Travis until he got her to admit she knew what she had done was wrong…even if she doesnt remember it and was in a fog….once she admitted she had done wrong to him, Juan could then call it murder and did…at least once….
