Singer Morrissey cancelled his scheduled appearance tonight on the Jimmy Kimmel Show. WHY? Because Morrissey couldn’t “morally” share the stage with the Robertson’s… the guys from DuckDynasty!

“Morrissey is thankful for being invited to perform on Jimmy Kimmel Live tomorrow, February 26. However, he cannot morally be on a television program where the cast members of Duck Dynasty will also be guests. Morrissey would be honored to play the show, if Duck Dynasty were removed.”
The singer added: “As far as my reputation is concerned, I can’t take the risk of being on a show alongside people who, in effect, amount to animal serial killers. If Jimmy cannot dump Duck Dynasty then we must step away.”

Morrissey is the former frontman of The Smiths. A great band, he’s a great singer, but the vegan moral authority stuff is just over the top. I understand his perspective, but he shouldn’t try to shame the show into taking his side over the Duck Dynasty folks bc he has been around long enough to know the game. It’s about ratings and Morrissey is not going to bring in the ratings.
I don’t know who Morrissey is ( seems to be trend of wimpy people with some variation of Mo-rees), but Duck Dynasty kicks butt.

All of the brothers are rather adorable under the beards. Morrissey is some has been from god knows when trying to be relevant. Those red necks that he seems to not want to share the stage with most likely have more money than he does. Love them and the way they love each other.
That group and song are from the sixties! I remember that song very well, Morrissey is like me….old, certainly old enough to know better. I wonder if he is a gun nut, or an animal nut? Now I love animals, and I’ve never owned a gun(even though I’m seriously considering buying one before a person no longer can purchase one) but many people do love to hunt and do eat what they kill, they don’t kill for the joy of killing an animal. I could see being a bit miffed if they were hunters for sport. That is so not they way they do things, they literally live off of the land. They grew up poor and hunted to put food on the table. I think it’s Jase that said even though they have money he prefers fresh food the can hunt on his own. So as long as they are eating it and not mounting it I am fine.
IMO the Duck Dynasty boys are also probably a lot healthier than we are as well. I don’t even like to contemplate the crap that is in our food supply. I would rather hang out with the families on Duck Dynasty than Morrisey or any faux family from the RH. franchise.

I started listening to the Stones as a kid in the 70′s, after Brian Jones passed on. I only learned about Brian as I was growing up. Just wondering ’cause didn’t Brian die in the mid 60′s? JMO but Mick is one heck of a singer & performer.
The last Stones album Brian contributed to was “Beggars Banquet”. “Let It Bleed”, being released next, was the last truly great Stones album (IMO). Mick & Keef skip around on stage as wrinkled, geriatric parodies of themselves, & have ruined what the Stones were supposed to be all because of greed/attention seeking. Brian was the founding member of the Stones so to me, it’s sad to see what they became when his influence was totally removed from the group. The Smiths were sort of similar. A amazing group, thanks mostly to Johnny Marr. Marr didn’t die like Brian did, but when The Smiths broke up, Morrissey couldn’t stop feeding the ego. He had some great solo stuff initially, but it’s time to hang up the towel. These front man & their inability to go out on a high note, musically, infuriates me. Marr still preforms, but he is a songwriter & not a spectacle.
Morrissey is true to what he always was – a animal lover & vegan – but, a large part of me can’t help but believe that he pulls stunts like refusing to go on stage for a show that has Duck hunters as guests all to get some press. Him being on Kimmel isn’t in and of itself headline news, so he pushed a few buttons. He could have easily lined the stage with vegan rhetoric & preformed anyway & got his point across, but he can’t deal with just being on the stage. He wants an interview & he wants as much attention as he can get.
I was born in the 60′s so I was just a little kid when I first heard their music playing. My interest in music, particularly lyrics, is what prompted me to learn more about the background of ‘The Stones.’ I love all types of music.

I find myself becoming addicted to Duck Dynasty. Although it’s obviously staged in many aspects, I like the family atmosphere. Not sure who Morrisey is but… whatever.
DD is the best. Some of it is definitely directed so we can get some good viewing but they heart and soul of the clan and their faith seem to be real and not manufactured. I recently read the book written about the family by Willie and Kori and it made me love them even more. They are are a real family that started from nothing and worked hard. When the show first started I kind of bypassed it, seemed like it wouldn’t be my thing. Then one weekend I was sick and couldn’t sleep and I started with one episode, I was hooked. Had myself a marathon and stayed up all night watching them. I can’t wait for the new season to start. They really make me laugh. If you haven’t read the book and you like the family then I suggest you read it. Quick read and really shares a lot about how and where they come from.
I agree Bizzy. I first became aware of the Duck/Buck Dynasty boys from hunting shows they have done prior to their reality show. They were just as entertaining even tho their focus was on hunting vs. the family. It’s the compromise in our hunter living household; hubs has to watch housewives and I watch hunting shows.
As far as Morissey…wonder what he would say if a family member was killed in auto accident related to the deer over population?

I’m also a fan of Duck Dynasty but, in Morrissey’s defense, the outspoken singer/songwriter does have a very well-known and longstanding commitment to animal rights. In the 2003 TV documentary, The Importance of Being Morrissey, he said he thought that eating meat “is really on the same moral level as child abuse. It’s the same thing. Animals are like children, they look to us for protection. We should protect them.” I know that’s not how most people would feel — including me! — but I do respect him for avoiding the hypocrisy of appearing with the Robertsons, who are equally well-known for being entirely comfortable killing and eating a variety of animals. Perhaps the Jimmy Kimmel producers were hoping for fireworks in scheduling them to appear together?

In thinking about this, it occurred to me that perhaps the Housewives site might be able to mitigate its litigation expenses by creating and selling whimsical Wizard of Oz-inspired pictures/T-shirts/Mugs/Mouse Pads, etc. along the lines of the famed Alice in Wonderland. With Teresa portrayed as Dorothy, Caroline as the Cowardly Lion, Jacqueline as the brain-seeking Tin Man in need of constant oiling, Kim D. as the heartless Scarecrow, Dina Manzo as Glinda, Melissa Gorga as the Wicked Witch of the West, Kathy Wakile as colorless Auntie Em and, of course, Andy Cohen as the Wizard, I think it could be very successful. Joe Gorga and Richard Wakile could easily portray the wicked queen’s Winged Monkeys and Joe Guidice probably wouldn’t mind playing the role of Toto given Teresa carried him into this RHONJ debacle in the first place — “Tre, we’re not in Jersey anymore!”
I don’t see how it would be hypocritical to appear on a show with the DD boys. If Jimmy Kimmel were trying to start something between them, I could see bowing out, but his response should have been different. If something comes up anywhere someone is not comfortable, they can simply bow out of the conversation or give their point of view respectfully – or have a sense of humor! I am not a vegan, but I can take a joke if a vegan wants to poke harmless fun at meat-eaters. The DD clan eats what they kill. I respect vegans but not when they feel they are morally superior toward me and refuse to be in the same room with me.

Do you have any Idea the way cotton is tortured over and over again only to make the clothes we wear. I can’t even imagine how painful it has to be to be twisted, pulled and stretched to become thread. We have perfectly good bodies and clothes are not a necessity. I for one will not perform at the Staple Center until it is 100 percent cotton free. Miles will get the the first ticket if that happens.

I don’t hunt but nature has predators for balance. It’s a checks and balance thing. I remember some time back all the elk that starved to death because of over population. Humans are predators and play a part in nature as other carnivores on the planet do.
The deer population is out of control in our state as are wild boar. The boar are particularly dangerous and if Son in law takes grandson to the ranch he has to take a gun for protection. We are hunters and gatherers by nature its in our dna.

I think when you have a immigrant parent that appreciates what our country has to offer compared to how they lived in their own country they instill this in their children. My mother took great pride in being an American citizen and cherished everything that this country let her achieve. My Grandfather also loved the fact he could work without intimidation or at gun point! I have so much pride that my grandfather refused to join the the S.S. or have anything to to with the regime even if it meant he lost everything. Just watched the cast from Duck Dynasty on Jimmy Kimmel and I really enjoyed these guys. They seem really nice AND funny. The one guy (not sure of his name) sitting in the back seats, with sunglasses on his hat was kinda’ cute. Think he’d be more handsome clean shaven, but that’s just me.
I’ve only watched DD once or twice; my favorite part is when they pray and give thanks before dinner – ALL – together. I think that’s beautiful!

He was the one when Jimmy asked “how do your wives feel about not bathing for four days?” Jase said something like “she tells me if I want some action – take a shower.” Jimmy asked “what do you do?” Jase smiles and says “I go take a shower.”
Jase is adorable. From what I have read lots of hunters will go a few days without showering so they can maks their smells when they are heading out to hunt.
Jase looked cuter to me on JK last night…I don’t know why? Like I said I only watched DD once or twice, but on DD – well, he seemed a little scary to me at first. That’s why I enjoyed hearing & seeing him on Jimmy last night.
