“POOR” Brandi “I’ll do anything for MissAndy/Bravo” Glanville…
Adding to Brandi Glanville’s character on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills as “POOR” Brandi… the now-Housewife who is being stepped on, run over, demolished by “I worked for my money” Adrienne Maloof…is Brandi’s revelation during her HStern interview that she made only $18,000 for her first season as “friend” of the RHOBH.
How just plain AWFUL for “POOR” Brandi!! Those damn misers at Bravo! How could anyone live on $18,000??? Why, that’s less than minimum wage! How did “poor” Brandi do it?? How could “poor” Brandi have possibly entered into a contract with MissAndy/Bravo/EvolutionMedia for only $18,000??? Those damn big meanies at Evolution! Everyone should feel very sorry for “poor” Brandi and her financial plight… caused by signing a contractual agreement to be a “friend” of Adrienne Magoof on the RHOBH!
Let’s take another look at “poor” Brandi’s $18K!
Brandi may have been paid “only” $18,000 for her participation on the Beverly Hills franchise. HOWEVER! HOWEVER… that is only a small part of what Brandi made during her first stint associated with the RHOBH.
First, being paid $18K for what boils down to probably LESS than 40 hours of TOTAL shooting time ain’t all that bad. And… with Brandi only having “friend” status, Brandi’s shooting schedule was a fraction of the number of hours as that of a “full-time” Housewife. As soon as Brandi let it fly that she was ONLY paid $18,000 for being on the RHOBH… regular 40-hour-a-week people who work 50 weeks out of the year at a 9-to-5 job were simply aghast! That is peanuts!! How could Bravo/Evolution only pay “poor” Brandi only $18K!?!?! NOTE: ”Regular” working people excludes da Magoof… even though her RHOBH character is that of someone who has “worked for her money”! What a joke!!
IMO, Brandi saw the much bigger picture and GLADLY signed on for $18K… even if it means that she had to sign on as Adrienne’s “friend”! Well, Evolution/Bravo HAD to figure out some way for Brandi to have a connection to the already established BH Housewives!
IMO, Brandi agreed to the story line… the one in which she would be the catalyst and the antagonist in the Kim/Kyle drama at AlienShapeShifterPam Dana Wilkey’s “GameNight.”
In agreeing, Brandi knew how much she was being paid. Brandi also knew all the fringe benefits which go along with being on the Housewives and knew that the $18K was just a portion of what she would make. IMO, Brandi also knew that if she “brought the drama” required, there would be an excellent chance of her being promoted to “full-time” Housewife status… which is exactly what happened.
One of the fringe benefits is making personal appearances to promote the show. After completing the shooting schedule, which on average is approximately four months out of the year for a full-time Housewife, Brandi is required to make the rounds of the media… including the appearances on all of MissAndy’s friends in the NYMediaMafia!
The amount for each appearance is SAG/AFTRA union scale, which two years ago was $830. The amount now may have increased; however, for the sake of this post, let’s round it up to an easy $1,000 per appearance. In promoting her first year on the RHOBH, Brandi easily made at LEAST 18 appearances! Easily! Therefore, Brandi made at least DOUBLE of her reported “poor me” $18,000 for being a “friend” of the RHOBH! Also, keep in mind that along with the union scale fee of $1,000, all expenses are paid… the entire appearance fee goes directly into Brandi’s account!
Let’s not feel too badly for “POOR” Brandi! Brandi is milking her 15-minutes and is making dollars for every second. Since signing on to the RHOBH, Brandi has launched her under-designed over-priced “clothing” line, “BrandB” and, of course, has her best-selling ghost-written book!
IMO, Brandi is not poor; has never been poor; and wouldn’t recognize “poor” if it plopped on her head!
Brandi is to “poor” as da Magoof is to “working for her money”!

exactly, she also has had the money to keep up with all her cosmetic procedures, yes, the surgeries might had been paid by Eddie when they were married or with his credit card but all the keep up from the last four years, that has been on Brandi’s dime, she has spoken about her regular botx, the regular facial procedures, her hand rejuvenation, heck all that costs money. Yet she goes around crying about the legal fees that her own mouth is costing her, what about STFU and then you won’t have to pay your lawyers anything.
IMO Brandi needs to get a filter. She runs her mouth and manages to say nothing of interest. Ive seen her on two chat shows this week alone and she does herself no favors

I think is probably both, Brandi is a perpetual victim and is always pointing out the other ladies wealth, so she probably does get upset by making so much less than the others, but nobody is holding her hostage, if she is staying and fighting so hard to be on the show is because she knows that the exposure for her products will eventually pay off much more than what she makes on the show.

Looks like I’m the only one here that likes the girl…and I have a grown son and daughter so I’m no kid looking up to her! I still think if Yolanda (and I do love her) makes 100K, then Brandi should too. One thing bugging me is why her friend, Jennifer, is on every episode now. She hasn’t done anything wrong and is actually very quiet, but she seems to me to be a hanger on.
Jennifer is as much a hanger on as Faye was since the show started. I like Jennifer and think it would be cool if she were elevated to “friend of” status.
I think Jennifer is there as a real friend and that’s it.
I’m hoping Bravo lets Jennifer hang around and totally gets rid of Faye. Bravo should know beyond a shadow of a doubt what the viewers think of Faye. She’s unacceptable.
The housewives show women as temporary friends. They are all cut throat and would turn on each other in a heart beat if it earned them another season, more $$$$, a better storline or massive perks. Clearly loyalty can be purchased. Brandi is far from poor. Poor means you cannot feed your child, clothe your child or provide a home for them. It’s insulting to hear Brandi moan about being poor. Go away Brandi.
ITA, Brandi keeps the “woo-as-me I’m a single mom and I’m poor” angle going, it’s ridiculous. She ain’t on the RHoBH for nothin’. She wears designer clothes, has an expensive car, kids go to private school, and ex-hubby married Leann Rimes so she gets child support and alimony, STFU Brandi!
Brandi’s dresses are made in the US, and getting 5 star reviews. And as far as the toaster goes, maybe she got it in the divorce.

Bottom line: It’s business as usual at Bravo/Evolution/Whatever. HWs have to “sell” whatever it is the execs want them to by any means necessary. Whether that’s becoming “friends,” frenemies, or blatant enemies, it don’t matter, it’s all business. If a cast member is not willing to do her part to “sell,” then she’s OUT. Nothin’ personal. Just ‘bidness.

Yes, Yolanda and Lisa are pretty darn funny together. Unless I miss heard, Yolanda called Lisa a midget in Vegas when they were in the hallway, and they both got a good laugh. I’d really like to see the two of them interact more, to show Kyle and Adrienne they both need a personality injection.

I, too like her, and she never even makes me cringe. She’s usually accurate in her observations, bad language isn’t really off putting to me, and beiing forthright and honest are good things in my opinion.
I allso think she saw the bigger picture. Perhaps she wasn’t offered much monetarily for her first season, but she has managed to capitalize on it. My guess is that her book will sell better than the others and I see more ventures in her future.
Read the first page of her book last night and she already made me giggle. If you’d like I’ll give a brief review when I finish.

True. Lisa did. Still if I remember right she did it while saying why it was wrong for Ad to “sue” (or intimidate) Brandi. You are right that there was too much talk of that this season. But IMO there was too much talk about whole Ad/Brandi conflict this season. It’s hard to think now what season would be like, and what would be said or not said if not for that.
I think the producers milked the last reunion (Adrienne vs Lisa) too much. Talk about being on the “hamster wheel”. That issue should have never made it the beginning of this season. I have a feeling, it will be dissected during the next reunion too.
I agree. Its almost like they made up this crap just to distract from the fact that they contributed to the death of someone and continue to bolster SWINE’s bs domestic violence story, her book and the victimization of her young duaghter.
I hesitate so to say ( but only ever so slightly-you know how I do) that Lisa’s house burnt too. Another diversion tactic? yeah I said it. What are the odds that production just happened to be filming across the street?
Hmmmmm. That is suspicious. When you think about it, this entire season was based on every picayune thing from last season and the last reunion. Maybe, there was NO story line at all prior to filming. So, the producers said, “Let’s just rehash every problem from last year because the audience won’t catch on…” In other words, they had no new ideas.
Brandi may not know much about acting classy or being politically correct but she is a perfect fit for this show IMO. She call them on their BS (I loved her on last reunion), she gives them reason to pick on her and then act clueless………she made the show. Who wants to watch Taylor with all her BS and lies, or addicted Kim or annoying Kyle with her VERY VERY bad acting skills try to convince us all she is perfect. Take Brandi out, I don’t think Lisa would stay cause she doesn’t like the rest except Yolanda who is only on the show to promote her product and will be gone next season. The rest are not only boring but annoying.
At the end of each season there are rumors that Lisa will leave the show, which Lisa always denies and did so yesterday on Twitter. You’ll notice that there are never rumors about Kyle or Kim leaving? They need that show and aren’t about to walk away.
Look, you couldn’t pay a majority of viewers that or anything more to make a jack a** out of ourselves. No amount of money is worth the embarrassment and producer induced drama. However, $36,000 by approximation is not bad but certainly not worth the degradation all these fools agree to do for Bravo. That is good money for a first year elementary school teacher in Iowa, not all that great of California. Foot in the door and all, to subject yourself to the vitriolic hate and emotions from other HWs and public scrutiny would suck.
And yes, her “poor” me routine is worn out its welcome. Some of these HWs have strong money behind them, even a normal salary (?$250,000) is not worth the idiocy these morons pull on TV.
As for the toaster…it could very well have been a hold over from her marriage. I don’t hold that against anyone. And find it silly to point it out, no offense. I have a high end Waterford vase set I got as a bridal shower gift and I certainly am not wealthy. Of course that same vase set has done nthng for flowers, but nicely displays dust since I got married! Lol!
Maybe I’m wrong but I don’t think there would be any “poor me” story line for Brandi, if not for Ad’s employing lawyers this season.
I like Brandi too but “underdesigned” dresses may be the best description of a HW paraphenailia item ever. Slip dress, cut out here and there…long, short, one shoulder or two, white, black, green…I think Im falling asleep.

IMO, Brandi did not say she earned 18k in her first season for pity or sympathy. Howard asked her how much she made, and she answered. I didn’t hear anything “woe is me” about it. She really didn’t seem to be asking for anyone’s sympathy.
Exactly, he was asking questions and she was answering. There were many times where she felt uncomfortable about a question and she answered it very diplomatically. She didn’t eve n make fun of Leanne. She also stated that when she wrote the book she was in a bad place and now, with time she is much better.

She seems somewhat underpaid compared to the others. Especially considering she brings more to the show than Kim or Adrienne.
The other ladies came in with agents and attorney’s to work out specifics before the cameras ever started rolling, something that was unusual for the franchise which is why they are paid by the season and not the episode. Brandi’s money will go up next time her contract comes up for renewal, since she is now more aware of how things work.
Didn’t Brandi have an agent or work with an agency when she was “modeling”. Her husband was an actor so I’m quite sure Brandi knows the art of negotiation in Hollywood since she is very well versed on all other aspects of talent. IMO Brandi grabbed at anything they would offer first season. Ms SH spells it out quite clearly in the above article.
She’s said she stopped modeling when she moved to California. I suspect she decided to be a wife and mom, and let the modeling career go. With the exception of Taylor and Adrienne, the other’s had been acting for years and so they would have already had ready access to agents right away. That’s what I was referring to. Adrienne has access to the best legal advice in the country.
I’m so glad there is a site that doesn’t fawn all over that classless woman. I have never seen someone play the victim to such an extreme. If the country loon hadn’t taken her husband we would never have heard of her.
