It’s showtime for Cynthia’s Miss Renaissance pageant and who other than Miss USA herself, Kenya, wants to be part of it. Cynthia reluctantly offers to let Kenya be a judge, knowing full well it could backfire.
Meanwhile, Phaedra invited Chef Roble to cook up some aphrodisiacs for a titillating dinner with Apollo, Kandi and Todd, just as Kandi prepares to record her duet with Gospel great Marvin Sapp.
While at the studio, Kandi’s Dad makes a rare appearance to offer his thanks for bringing Kandi closer to her holy roots, and Porsha can’t seem to convince Kordell that she can have it all, a charity, career, and a family.
Marvin Sapp reminds me of the black preacher named Dollar that got in some hot water on disciplining his daughter.Not one to go with a T.V. evangelists they are all about the pocketbook and not about the reason they are there.
The Dollar preacher name is Creflo Dollar I think. Also Porsha needs to get a clue, the more she’s trying to stay relevant on the show the more chance that her husband is going to get outed for being gay finally. Cynthia is a hot mess, a good looking woman but a hot mess.
Porsha has a career!! Really!! Doing what? Shopping/decorating /dressing up is not a career.Kordell is a control freak and acts like her “daddy”.Sad but SH will take the dumbest HW banner away from Jaxass and Porsha will the 2013 recipient.All she brings to the show is the big house/ex famous husband/and stupid sayings.Her time will be up after this season.She has been told to argue with Kenya and Cynthia and both are too old for her to be playing with.Cynthia is jealous of her lifestyle plain and simple.The green eyed monster has showed his /her head.
Don’t be so hard on Kordell — maybe after being foolish enough to marry a pretty empty-headed young thing he realized she’s not just young: she’s actually too stupid to be left to her own devices 265 a year.
What Porsha brings to this show is something many viewers have been asking for since the show began. She’s an actual, bonafide member of Atlanta society. And while Porsha is not well spoken, she is far from stupid and is finding herself in a position many women have before her. While she thought it would be great to be married to a wealthy man and spend her time making babies and hosting events, she’s come to realize there is a side to her she’d like to explore, and that it is going to cause problems in her marriage she didn’t see coming. Many young women don’t take this into account, and many older women don’t come to this realization until well into their 40′s or later. I think this is a great story line for this show. While it is great to be a supportive wife, at some point she will require a supportive husband who sees her as more than just his plus one.
I take exception to Porsha being a member of Atlanta society. Her family is far removed from the powerful or the gentry. Sadly, she has attempted to tie in to her grandfather’s legacy but without any of her own credentials or intellect the best she could do is snatch an older, wealthy retired athlete. It doesn’t appear that she is educated or capable either domestically or in business. It is painful to watch her attempting to converse with others as well as be bullied by her older husband. She just needs to go..
But that is what society is. There is a family member who makes the money or creates the legacy, and the family members who follow continue that legacy. No where is there a requirement for specific intellectual acuity or credentials other then relation to the person who created the legacy. Good marriages are made, and there is absolutely no requirement that said marriage be to anyone who is famous at the time of the marriage. Unless you have something that says otherwise, Porsha remains a part of the society her grandfather created as did the generations prior. It’s funny because we could look at any part of Atlanta, or Martha’s Vineyard society and I would imagine there are more then a few members who are far from Mensa membership and yet retain their membership due to their family name. Have you looked at the British royal family? There’s more then a little lack of intellect there.
Porsha’s grandfather did not leave the kind of legacy you are implying. He was close to MLK and held a yearly Thanksgiving meal for the poor. This is far from Atlanta society. Other comments about her lack of education, etc. simply state she does not seem to offer
anything complementary to his legacy.
In your opinion. We are talking about Atlanta society and all that it entails, and not other society’s or even society as a whole. Have you read up on Porsha’s grandfather’s legacy? While you might not have been close enough for greatness to you, it fits perfectly into the history of African American society in Atlanta.
Uh..hmmm .Born and raised in ATL. Know her family well. Very familiar with Atlanta society so know of which I speak. I am from very well known family. Not to brag, just the facts.
I’ll of course have to take your word for it.
And yet what I read about his legacy and life from a very simple search leads me to wonder if what you say about his legacy is more based on your disdain for Porsha, then her Grandfather’s place in society in Atlanta, but then again people say any number of things on the internet.
Cynthia is lost with her pupper master/boss Ne Ne there to pull the strings on what to do and say.I hope she is gone next season too.She is 2 faced and catty.She wants people to think she has $$ and a booming business.She has a store front for a business for the show.She is not that pretty.Take off all the concealer and heavy makeup and wigs and you will have the picture of her and her mom @ the park with the big dummie T-shirt on.She is ugly on the inside too.BBG!!!!!
True on the 265 days a year.Kordell might need to bail before a baby comes into the picture.Porsha lives in her own world of glitter and pageantry.She is an airhead.When her beauty/cuteness fades she will be lost.
I don’t like the change in Cynthia. I hope she doesn’t think you need to be a biatch to be a business woman. I lost respect for Cynthia when she told “THE BAILEY BOYS” about Porsha not wanting them (strange men) in her house. Why would Cynthia think that was appropriate!????? Not a good way to do business throwing Porsha under the bus. SHE DIDN’T DESERVE THAT!
I honestly dont think that’s really the ‘real Cynthia’. She’d have garnered a diva reputation some time ago given her career. I think she’s just mimicking what she sees others have done and been successful at in this show, which is sometimes throwing someone under the bus, sometimes being the ‘mean’ one and sometimes playing both sides for the sake of production and ratings. I dont think she’s so good an actress to ‘be the nice one’ for two seasons but she definitely took some notes from NeNe…
True Cynthia has a office for these 1st time meetings.Why would you think it would be appropriate to go to someones home for a meeting with strangers other than Cynthia..I dont get that concept.Meet at the “Agency” or better yet Peter’s business cough cough “Bar One”.Heck meet at Cynthia’s place.I think she thinks Porsha’s home is better for the camera which it is.Cynthia was way out of line with her comments to her gay “Bailey Boys”.Most grown ass MEN would be offended if you called them boys.

I guess I’m still trying to erase the thoughts of being stuck on a tipsy disabled cruise ship carrying four levels of raw sewage.
Anyway, what passes for real society ladies would prob be a very boring show…. unless they were on that cruise ship.
Cynthia is a rat ass,backstabbing,snitch who has always been that way but actually was a pretty good actress in the beginning.. I mean she had me believing she was a nice person in the beginning.
I might have to agree with the person who said that Cynthia has changed cuz NE NE is not around. Makes total sense to me on some level, but on another level, I wasn’t expecting to get THE BIATCHY CYNTHIA. She was so totally unfair to Porsha and I would like to see KARMA come take care of that ! “INTERESTING”
