An investigation by “TheWrap” into the family-run, multi-national company of one of the Housewives’ media outlets… InTouchMagazine… has some interesting findings:

When asked via email by TheWrap what percentage of Bauer’s profits stem from pornography, Bauer spokeswoman Claudia Bachhausen ignored the question. She also had no response to a question about Nazi-themed porn.

The company rarely mentions its pornography-related holdings, but at least nine German porn websites are easily traceable back to Bauer via online domain-ownership databases. The subsidiary that publishes Der Landser, Pabel Moewig, has been owned by Bauer since the early 1970s.

According to its own figures, the family-run multi-national operates close to 600 print publications and 300 websites in 15 countries, as well as 50 television and radio stations.   MUCH MORE From TheWrap

NOTE:  While this may be interesting… the question is WHY “TheWrap” is investigating “InTouch”!

In another case, A&E has shot back at Dave Hester, one of the “StorageWars” buyers, who has claimed that “StorageWars” is a fake show.   From TheWrap:

“Hester alleged unfair business practices, among other claims. He said the show sometimes planted objects in the storage units that contestants bid on in hopes of finding discarded treasures.

A&E’s response focused on its defense that the unfair business practices portion of Hester’s complaint cannot go forward, partly because he cannot prove a probability of winning the suit. The network says he also cannot prove he suffered sustained injury.

Now, A&E says, Hester is trying to obscure the facts by painting himself as a crusader for truth.

A&E also claims Hester is no victim, but in fact took part in “salting” storage units with valuable items.

In his suit, Hester claims to have suffered more than $750,000 in damages from what he claims was his wrongful firing.”

NOTE:  IMO, what REALLY is going on with A&E and Hester is more of a ‘reputation’ issue.  Is it possible that one of their “reality” shows is not real??  GASP!!!

Are you a traveler?  Do you have frequent flier miles waiting to be used at American and/or USAir?

If you are and if you do, the announced merger today of American Airlines with USAir will IMO, despite the CEOs of both airlines saying differently, increase prices of tickets!  Would suggest using those FF miles!!

“Just five years ago, American was the world’s biggest airline. It boasted a history reaching back 80 years to the beginning of air travel. It had popularized the frequent-flier program and developed the modern system of pricing airline tickets to match demand.

The merger is an impressive achievement for Parker and his management team at US Airways, based in Tempe, Ariz. Just a few years ago, they were running a mid-sized carrier called America West Airlines when they bought the old US Airways out of bankruptcy.

US Airways is only half the size of American and is less familiar around the world, but he prevailed by driving a wedge between American’s management and its union workers and by convincing American’s creditors that a merger made business sense.”

If you had not heard about the American/USAir merger… read more from YahooFinance.com.

Cruise ship CNN

Speakin’ of traveling… CNN is offering live coverage of the Carnival cruise ship, Triumph’s, attempt to dock in Mobile, Alabama.

Right now, the Triumph, one of Carnival’s … the Wal-Mart of cruise ship lines… is dead in the water, as one of the tow lines assisting the ship has snapped.

From all info gathered, the cruise ship passengers have turned the SuperDome of a ship into an apocalyptic episode of “Doomsday Preppers”!

The Coast Guard delivered equipment to the struggling ship Wednesday afternoon, including a generator and electric cables.

Nerves are frayed on board, where passengers have waited in lines for as long as four hours, said Nick Ware, whose mother is on the ship with her boyfriend. Ware said arguments are breaking out after people at the front of lines grab as many provisions as they can.

“The person in the front of the line is allowed to take however much he wants, so people see the person in front of them taking too much, (and) they start to get concerned they’re not going to get any,” Ware said.

People at the rear of the line ended up with buns and condiments — no burgers, he said.

Meanwhile, on shore, Kim McKerreghan stood in the dark at dockside in the Port of Mobile early Wednesday, worried about her 10-year-old daughter and her ex-husband, both passengers on the distressed cruise ship.

Her daughter, Allie Taylor, called her in a panic Sunday after a fire broke out in the Carnival Triumph’s engine room.

Automatic sprinklers extinguished the blaze, but the flames paralyzed the ship’s propulsion system, leaving it temporarily marooned in the Gulf of Mexico, subject to the whims of wind and sea currents.

“Mommy, it’s so scary,” McKerreghan said her daughter told her. “I want to come home.” McKerreghan fought back tears as she recalled the conversation. “Just come get me,” her daughter begged her.

About Stoopid Housewives

The Real Housewives franchises have become a guilty pleasure for me and I've become intrigued by 'normal' people who would agree to put their lives on television for public display and scrutiny. What are their motives to divulge their daily routines for viewing audiences to approve, reprimand, berate, castigate, attack; basically abuse and judge? Oh, just forget about the above nonsense... the majority of these people are just stoo-pid.

  1. I watched the cnn video today until the tow line snapped. In today’s technology you would think there would be a better way of getting those people home.

I’ve watched Storage Wars and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I read I think it was yesterday or the day before that one of the stars had committed suicide. I don’t remember ever seeing him. Please correct me if I’m wrong with that one. I’m almost 100% sure it was storage wars.

  2. Susie says:

Dave Hester is an arrogant ass.He knew the show was fake from the get go.Money can keep lips tight til one gets fired.Funny how as soon as they find the “planted” valuable item they go right down the street to get it appraised.I would venture to say that they have most of the crap from the fake storage lockers and never sold any of it.Flea markets like Darrell/the gambler and son do will not pay retail/appraised prices.Just like a garage sale they all jew you down to nothing.

Bravo and HW shows are the same.Lot of bitter fired HW hags waiting til they come out from a contract to spill their guts. All will have book deals on what happen on their show.Jill/NY will be the 1st to spill it unless Trailer Trash gets the boot.A few drinks and she will let the gossip flow.Bravo should be worried about her loose alcohol induced lips.

  3. Sherry says:

I realize this may sound really dumb, but I have honestly never been on a cruise so….why couldn’t they pull up another ship alongside this vessel and allow the passengers to board it, then worry about getting the disabled ship back in their own sweet time, even if they had to cross over in lifeboats and it took two days to remove everyone? Anybody?? I apologize if this is a stupid question. Further, the maritime laws regarding these cruise ships in international waters REALLY need to be changed. It sounds like passengers have no recourse no matter what happens to them once they board.

    • It’s not a stupid question, because I was wondering the same thing.

    • TiaGiaChristie says:

Good points Sherry!! ITA!! (look at me figuring out what some of these initials mean!!) HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY EVERYONE, AND THANK YOU MS.SH FOR YOUR MOST EXCELLENT WORK!! My Lola-Bree made it to the 2 round on The Voice…..her brain injury makes it hard to learn new songs fast….but she tried and loved all the support sent!! She laughed at Mare’s video tribute. She isn’t giving up though……she is singing at a local restaurant tonight. If I can figure out how to post it ob you tube I’ll send the link. This BS with the crape that is being said about Bryan INFURIATES me. My child may be intellectually disabled, but she is not “retarded”. In my opinion…(IMO…:-) the smell sticks to Miss Andy and BLAVO. They are beginning to smell like 2wk old tuna left outside in the heat…aorta like some of their disgusting “BlAVOlebrities “.

  4. Susie says:

Mark Baleo committed suicide. He was the one that was so dressed up and carried like a fanny pack and wads of money. He would over bid.The key to buying anything is price.Auctions/storage bins can be costly. We have a guy in Austin,TX that said on starting bids there they start @ what is owed on the locker and go from there. That makes more sense that bidding $5 or so.The $40 fee tacked on to the locker should be considered too..Why should the locker company lose what is owned to them.If that were the case every weekend have storage/garage sale and keep all the $$ for the locker company.Forget paying 30% to the auctioneer.Mark it and call it a day. What dont sell hold til the next weekend when another locker is up for sale.

    • Thanks Susie, I don’t recall him and I only watched it two weeks ago and now I’m watching it on a regular basis, I just saw the couple, the father and son, the older funny guy and the guy who yells yep or something. He wears a uniform. A lot of other people milled around but these were the main characters.

  5. Elation, a Carnival ship whose port is New Orleans, brought them some supplies on Sunday from what I’ve read. There’s 1500 rooms reserved here for some of them to stay overnight and then get flights or buses back to Texas.

    • sd says:

Hey bsl, I live overhere on the Florida panhandle just a little east on I10 from you. My town is not big enough for it’s own News station so we get our news out of Pensacola and Mobile and it has been non stop coverage for this cruise ship even interrupting programming for updates. There are all kinds of interesting tidbits that are coming out faster than Carnival can contain them. One thing that is being said is that Carnival has offered to reimburse everyone with another cruise but not before they sign a release. Carnival denied it when asked but there are several people already swearing it’s true. The next thing is the flights back to Texas and N.O., when asked directly the Carnival spokesperson was very cagy in regaurds to any flights. I don’t think they are flying anyone out of Mobile but busing them to New Orleans and flying them from there. When asked if the people from the cruise were to tired to travel tonight and would like to sleep and shower if Carnival would pay for their Hotels and he flat out refused to answer. Now in Carnivals defense there is a lot of bad blood between them and the city of Mobile. Seems Mobile built a huge dock for cruise lines because Carnival wanted to leave from there and tried to pull out after it was built. It could be they are getting painted as the devil in the Mobile news over that but who knows! It will be interesting to see how it turns out. I am just grateful that they will finally get off that ship tonight!

      • romoshedint!!!!! says:

Oh I know… I’m watching CNN now. There’s a 6 month preggers lady on that ship. Poor thing… Can you imagine? She has an appt with her Dr. tomorrow just for a check up. She feels fine. I’d be pissed and going all sorts of cra cra and throwing some mad ‘bows if I were stuck on that ship for days! :O

        • I’m glad you’re safe in Yolanda’s closet. :D

          • romoshedint!!!!! says:

Lol! Safe indeed :-) YoFo was going to fly some lemons and Hermes belts over to them but I think they really needed working bathrooms, hot water and a hot plate of food. Speaking of craziness; is anyone watching that Big Rich Atlanta show? What’s up with that Ashlee chick? She should get stranded on a cruise ship for 5 days. It might do her some good.

      • New Orleans is ready for them from what I’m reading here, hotel rooms reserved and charter flights. The Mardi Gras crowds are gone and there aren’t any big conventions in town, so NOLA can handle it.

I don’t want to take a cruise after hearing about this, so I can only imagine how people that have been stuck on that ship feel about being reimbursed with a future cruise. Not.

  6. Justso says:

Using the word “jew” as a derogatory verb is very offensive. Perhaps you mean barter or bargain. “Jew” is referencing a religion or race of people. I do agree that a lot of books will be written by the housewives after their departure unless their contracts prohibit spilling the beans.

  7. Susie says:

Excuse me for saying “Jew” I meant negoiate. That better.

  8. Susie says:

    Senistive crowd on here.

  9. madanjones says:

I was booked on triumph march 2. There but for the grace of God… I am an avid cruiser and immediately booked another cruise, on a newer ship. They couldn’t transfer the passengers in open water, especially when triumph was not stable. Those poor people must be so misrable. I am glad they are almost done with their nightmare.

  10. SH fan says:

    Get ready….set….let the lawsuits begin!

    • bsbfankaren says:

I hope they read their contracts before paying an attorney. They may not have any legal recourse, or it is likely very limited.

  11. I wondered the same thing…about removing passengers. Where was the coast guard? Why not use the lifeboats? What took the tugs so long to get there? What if there were medical emergencies? Something’s off. I wouldn;t sign a damn thing

    • bsbfankaren says:

First, you sign legally binding documents when you purchase your tickets, so everyone on board is going to be limited as to what they can get from the cruise line. This came up with the ship that ran a aground in Italy.

Next, the ship was in open waters and it was not safe for the coast guard to evacuate the ship, although they were called in and did bring in provisions for the passengers. And since the ship was still seaworthy in that it wasn’t taking on water, there would have been no good reason to put people on life boats and take the chance of weather conditions making things even worse than they were before.

Lastly, as I heard tonight, it would have been too dangerous to attempt to get everyone off one ship and get them onto another, especially since they had young children on board as well as some folks there were disabled. They did airlift one person who had a heart attack, so that was a good thing.

I think as bad as it was, at least the passengers had the safety of the ship to help them until they could safely get to shore. Now, since I also heard that the particular ship this happened to had already had two other issues, Carnival is going to face some sort of sanctions, but since the ship is registered in the Bahamas, it will likely be sanctions in international court I suppose.

  12. SH fan says:

Now it comes out that there were prior problems with the ship separate from the ones that caused the fire…..and the execs for Carnival are trying to play it down that the passengers are over reacting about the conditions…..wait til the passengers pictures all start appearing. Ms SH was right Carnival is definitely the Wal-Mart of cruises and this is incident is gonna be rough seas going forward. ……Here you go sorry about the trouble. Here is your money back and a voucher for DISCOUNTS on future cruises (not even a FREE one) and well here is $500 for your suffering. Now get off the boat and on a bus for the next 7 hours to your car or we have an option to New Orleans…its only 2 hours by bus. Bye! Thanks for cruising Carnival! Ya’ll use those discount coupons and come back and see us now…..

    • bsbfankaren says:

And that is basically all they will get I think, with or without a lawsuit since their rights are likely dictated and set in stone by the contract the passengers signed when they purchased their tickets.

Someone in Congress is supposed to be working on legislation in regards to cruise ship safety and reparations when something goes wrong, after that cruise ship ran a ground in Italy with some American’s on board, but I don’t know if anything has come of it so far. With our current pro business Congress, whatever legislation may have been under consideration is probably dead in the water at this point.

  13. Malaika says:

Ok, if my man gets me some funeral arrangements for Vday (or any other day), well, I don’t think Ill like it!

  14. Sandi says:

The Wal-mart of cruise lines. That cracked me up.

  15. donewithbravo says:

I’m wondering what the outcome will be for lots of those passengers. Will they catch some disease from being in such filth for days??? I’d sure as hell find loopholes and sue the hell out of Carnival. I was on one of their cruises 20+ years ago and I was underwhelmed back then! Bleh! I don’t like cruising. I can’t imagine what those people went thru.

    • bsbfankaren says:

I’m sure a class action will be attempted. I’m just not sure how far it will go, and the lawyer(s) will likely pay close attention to the outcome of the case in Italy to see what might be possible.

    • Stacy says:

Lawsuits are a waste of time. This ship, like most cruise ships, is registered in a foreign country, NOT the U.S., so it is not subject to most U.S. laws, inspections, and taxation.

  16. LyndaS says:

Oooohhh – the profile of Crooks shows that his nose is longer and longer than before. He could use a nose job too. Hey, Vicki can afford plastic surgery for her BrokeBeau.
