He also produced songs on multi-platinum soundtracks including “Ghostbusters,” “Urban Cowboy,” “Footloose,” “St. Elmo’s Fire” and the top selling cast album for the Broadway hit “Dreamgirls.”

Foster has been married four times, has five biological daughters and six grandchildren. His first marriage was to singer/writer B.J. Cook, who already had a daughter, Tamre Winger, whom he raised. Foster’s second wife was model Rebecca Dyer; they had three daughters: Sara Foster (b. February 5, 1981), Erin Foster (b. August 23, 1982), and Jordan Foster (b. September 1986).
He married his third wife, Linda Thompson, on June 27, 1991.
David did not appreciate “Princes of Malibu”… neither did viewers!
The two became a songwriting team, collaborating on several songs including “I Have Nothing” performed by Whitney Houston in The Bodyguard, and “Grown-Up Christmas List”. Thompson filed for divorce on July 11, 2005, the day after her short-lived reality series, The Princes of Malibu, premiered.

In 1992, Foster was driving on the Pacific Coast Highway when his car struck actor/dancer Ben Vereen, who had crashed his car and was in a daze. Despite being thrown 90 feet, Vereen survived. Vereen went on the record to state that it probably saved his life as he had had a serious drinking problem caused by the death of his daughter. DavidFoster/BenVereen connection… SH September 2012.
In September 23, 2012, he spoke at a private fundraising event in Beverly Hills, California for GOP Presidential candidate Willard Mitt Romney. (Just another reason why we like David Foster!!)

Cool, SH. One of his best discoveries (besides Michael Buble, of course!!) was Rene Olstead. Simply amazing. He had/has the magic touch.

Yes, he did piss away money when he kept trading in for younger wives. All of his ex’s are smart not to remarry in order to keep getting alimony. Yolanda’s ex husband was smart to introduce the two in hopes that David would marry her so he would not have to pay her alimony. Sucker!!!! I see divorce in the future and he will be on the prowl for his fifth (younger) wife.
David Foster is an amazing talent. I can’t pick a favorite song that he’s created. They’re all so great. I also forgot how well Michael Bolton sings. Anyway, I’ve really been enjoying this detour
I also watched that Princes of Malibu show. Linda’s sons were brats and had no respect for David. Too bad because one of those Jenner boys is trying to have a music career now. Hmm… and oopsie! Now Bruce is trying to get Kris to hook him up with Babyface. It’s a whole thing. And the Jenner kid sucks IMO.

Made, it is obvious that Gabe has tons of raw talent. I’m so happy that he is working hard at his craft but also having normal high school experiences as well as just being a regular teenager (I know that is sometimes both good and bad, bitter and sweet) rather than playing in bands doing the club scene at his age. You are blessing him with an opportunity to mature before he conquers the big wide world.

He’s very blessed to have a passion for something at which he excels. Don’t we all wish that for our kids?
So true. No matter what he ends up doing with session work, teaching, rockstar, whatever it may be wherever it may take him, I know that he will enjoy his work and that’s sooooo very important.

I have to say that I have enjoyed this post more than any other. I loved the song Wildflower. All the songs brought back so many memories for me. And I had no idea that he was the one who hit Ben Vereen. Wow. Shocker.

I certainly didn’t know who David was…what a genius! I certainly enjoyed his music back in the day. No wonder Yo is all about treating her man like a king..I’ve gotten the vibe he can be hard to please at home.
David, apparently, liked Alicia Jacobs (Sin City Rules) at 1 point in time. She made sure to name drop David & Chris Botti’s (trumpet player) names when she said she had dated (if that’s what you want to call it) everyone in the entertainment industry (episode 1). I had to rewind her part over & over to make sure I was really hearing who she was talking about. Guess AJ goes from friend to friend…or maybe they share although David doesn’t appear to be that type. It does seem David likes blondes, though. Just hope Chris isn’t in the wings, waiting to see if David & Yo don’t make it, so he can have a go at it. I like D & Yo’s relationship (or what we see of it) & I hope they continue to have a wonderful marriage.
SCR and RHOBH filmed by same people therefore names that are dropped get recycled too just like the bullcrap storylines. The cast of SCR sucked donkey balls cause its literally the same show and the same type of “pretenders” and financial frauds, same formula (one certifiable in the mix Amy/SWINE) and SCR still couldn’t even manage to hang on for one season.
Had a great sing-along with myself! Scared the heck out of my 3 cats but I enjoyed my serenade. Thanks SH for brigthening my evening.
Whooooo, glory…”After the Love Has Gone” is one of those rare songs that makes me wanna grab a guy and just sway to the music! Foster’s got the Midas Touch, or should I say “pen,” every time he puts pen to paper.
