The pink and lovely…”Hiller Lake” (Western Australia)
Its startling colour remains a mystery and while scientists have proven it’s not due to the presence of algae, unlike the other salt lakes down under, they still can’t explain why it’s pink.

The gap between Europe and the United States is widening – by one inch a year. This photograph shows the vast gap between the two tectonic plates, as seen by a Britishscuba diver. Alex Mustard, 36, dived 80 feet into the crevice between North America and Eurasia to reveal the stunning landscape. The area – near Iceland – is riddled with faults, valleys, volcanoes and hot springs, caused by the plates pulling apart at about 1 inch per year.

  1. WOW!!! This entire blog was mind boggling in beauty…and to top it off, Louie Armstrong’s What a Wonderful World. It doesn’t get any better than this. This was a super treat and thank you Ms SH for providing it.

  2. Wow. Those pictures are awesome!! The rainbow one reminds me of something I noticed the other day. I was driving down the road and there was a beautiful rainbow in the sky and I have never seen this before but it actually ended at the end of my street. So of course I perked up thinking of that pot of gold. Well it was not there. But the rainbow DID indeed end right there. What was interesting is that right when I came to the end of the rainbow I looked back up in the sky and could no longer see the rainbow. I felt touched by God at that moment. Not an audible sound but speaking to my heart nonetheless telling me rainbow is God’s promise and it has nothing to do with pots of gold. Profound moment for me. The rainbow was still in the sky for others to see but I could not see it while I was looking for that pot of gold. I know that I have not done the experience justice describing it here. It was beyond words. The rainbow never leaves us yall sometimes wee just have to back up a bit.

    • Awesome post madepiley. So interesting (and telling) that when you were looking for the pot of gold you lost sight of the rainbow. A very serious, and yes, profound story in your experience. I got a lot from it and thanks for sharing.

    • Maybe it is as simple as, that your the pot of gold and the rainbow was God’s way of pointing that out to you.

    • Oh wow, MP! I have a similar story that happened to me when I was about 9 or 10. I’ve never told anyone because I thought for sure no one would believe me! My babysitter and I had gone to her house real quick after a storm. When we pulled into the driveway, we could see the end of the rainbow in her neighbor’s yard. I wanted to see if there was a pot of gold so I climbed over the log fence and stood right where I thought the end was. I turned to her and yelled, “Where is it? Where’d it go?!”. She said, “You’re standing right in it! You can’t see it?” No, I could not see it until I backed away a few steps and there it was again! I stepped back in and forgot all about looking for gold. It was very surreal. I’m happy to know I’m not the only to one have had that experience. Thank you for sharing yours!

    • Yes a beautiful post made and thank you for “Praising You In The Storm”…I know the song well. Again, your clip led me to another beautiful song…”I Can Only Imagine.” I know another version of the song-same lyrics, different band. Maybe Casting Crowns?

        • There is another rendition of “I Can Only Imagine” that I know. It may be a newer version by Mercy Me, but I don’t think so. The singer has a stronger, more powerful voice. I just can’t think of the band/singer?

            • While this is A beautiful version, especially with the London symphony, it’s not the one. Only you could find this…WOW!
I’ve been thinking about it, and I thought that maybe they had 2 diff. lead singers during the course of their playing together, but I checked and I don’t see anywhere that there was ever two lead singers.
In 2007, I had the chance to see them play live in Tampa or Orlando. A very rare treat for me, considering my Mom being sick. The tickets were nearly impossible to get, but a friend by chance “won” them from a station network.
I knew the song already and had been moved immensely by it’s healing words. It could be that hearing it live with more then just one vocal singer, and the entire crowd singing it…that the vocals just sounded more powerful. Thanks for searching so hard. Either way, the lyrics are beautiful and the song has had a powerful, indescribable impact on many of our lives. Thank you made.

      • I Can Only Imagine always makes me cry.. Always. and yet I feel surrounded by the overwhelming peace of God’s infinite love at the same time.

        • Me too. There really are no words to describe the actual feeling I experienced when I first listened to the song…still do every time I hear it.

  3. Thank you for sharing your experience MP! thank you SH! I would love to have one of those shots for my screen. We all need to stop and “breathe” every now and then while we still can!

    • I once read that God awakens with Nature, walks with the animals, and thinks in man. Such beauty can not help but to leave one in complete wonderment of Nature!
There is So much one would like/hope to see in this life, but simply can not.
Thank you for sharing these miraculous photographs of sights, that otherwise would never have been seen….other then in our dreams!

  4. I have never posted, only lurked occasionally to see what you gals/guys? had to say about our housewives. I’m sitting here in tears tonight, from the unexpected photos, to the story of the rainbow, and I can’t decide if I’m happy or sad, or both. I know I’m touched. I know I’ve needed it. I had lost all faith in my God, and had lost all my trust in him, and humankind. I have been reminded. Of his beauty, his love, and that humankind is not all evil, or out to get someone. You all have lifted me in a way I cannot explain. I have sense of peace and strength I havn’t had in years. Who would have known. Complete strangers made me place my eyes back on the one I had thought left me. Now I know, it was me, who left him. Bless you all for the beauty you have shared.

    • Jewels, we are always loved. Sometimes we lose our faith, but luckily something greater than us always has faith in us–despite all we do to push that trust away. Bless you for sharing!

  5. THANKS SH! Just got back from two weeks in Costa Rica where we spent most of the time in the rainforest areas and I left feeling spiritually renewed. The raw beauty of nature is so inspirational.

  6. OMG those lavender fields! *SWOON* Tried to grow some in my back patio but they withered in the hot SoCal sun. :(

    • I grow it in the house along with rosemary. It’s better than air fresheners. It helps that my house is all windows.
