From TMZ:
DAMN!! When it rains, it pours… and it’s pouring on Miami Housewife, Alexia Echevarria.
Alexia is suing her insurance company for coverage she says she was supposed to have… which would have covered most of her son’s over $2 million hospital costs. She is alleging that the special coverage she requested was left off the policy.
- Alexia’s 13-year-old son Frankie was hospitalized with severe injuries including a brain injury after a catastrophic car accident back in 2011.
- Alexia and her husband, Herman still owe the IRS $94,078.44 in taxes for 2009. According to the Miami-Dade County clerk’s office, the Echevarrias now have a lien on their Miami Beach home.
- Alexia was also dealing with her elder son, Peter Rosello, who recorded himself attacking a homeless man, then posting the video on his Facebook page. Peter has entered a “pre-crime” program, as mentioned on SH December 23, 2012… and will not serve any jail time.

Speakin’ of ratings…yes, we were, somewhere! NCIS still remains the number one show on television! WOOT-WOOT!!

Yep, when it rains it pours. I don’t know much about the Miami housewife, but I do know these insurance companies will pull a stunt like that because I went through it before with mine. Sheree just needs her azz kicked for being so stoopid when it comes to money and the opportunity she let slip between her fingers by trying to act like she had it like that when she apparently didn’t.
$2 mill. Jeezuz.
Yes, we all know insurance companies will pay as little as possible or not at all if they can get away with it.
I remember the year before Katrina, I called my agent and wanted to raise my property and flood insurance. He told me even if it did flood it would only be about 4ft and you don’t have 40k in property in your home. Well 15ft of water for 3 weeks later, everything that I ever owned was ruined. I could have sued him but I was worn out with grief. Luckily he did raise my property but not my homeowners. My home was appraised at the time 100k only had 80k ins owed 50k. But did receive content insurance and that was the only thing he raised the day I requested this upgrade in my policy. My life plans were to have my home paid off in 5 years and now I have a 150k mgt in an area of So. Ms that I hate and but was close to Louisiana. The best part is that flood covered everything. Allstate gave me 7k for a couple of shingles that were off my roof. FLOOD PAID EVERYTHING. Just like medical insurance you have to make sure what you want is documented and read your policy.
My problem was my agent was lazy, because the increase on my contents only cost like $29.00 per year. I guess he didn’t get much commission on flood so he didn’t care.
The good thing is the same thing happen to his home but I would be surprised if he was rich after his home was flooded.
Things will never be the same and I know exactly what the people of SI & RI are going through.
Read your policy’s know your rights.
Sorry but had to get this off my chest.
I agree with you. What I don’t understand is how so many people in NY and NJ were not made to purchase flood insurance. You live on the coast, I am sorry, you need flood insurance just incase. The news was saying that several people in NY and NJ didnt have to buy flood insurance due to the state exempting them.
In Sandy’s case the reason was that many people where located in places they didn’t have to have flood insurance or they didn’t have a mortgage. I so believe her about the insurance, they will start to play games when the costs start to get expensive. Also they better hurry up and get that lien off their property before someone pays that lien and owns it.
Rest assure, if I lived near the ocean, I would have flood insurance because of the hurricanes. Its like something you know you have to do.
I hear ya.
I’m sorry to hear this story lilbitmore2…. no one deserves this type of treatment – particularly after such a terrible nightmare. Even if you hadn’t taken out the policy, the insurance companies should be more flexible. I know they’re not, but still…..
I think its priceless that Sheree owes money.
Sheree is nt a good liar.
Sheree deserves to owe the IRS
I’m not a huge fan of Sheree but I kinda wish they’d kept her on for this season, and left Porscha out. Sheree always had good one liners (even though not much of a storyline) and it would’ve been hilar to see her go head to head with Kenya’s crazy ass.
I dont like the way they told her that she was fired just before filming the reunion. That was kind of mean and tacky – very BRAVO/COHENesque.
I have always bought flod insurance because homeowners insurance doesn’t cover for floods. I had a house in aurora ill it was not near a lake but one year we got so much rain. I sold the house and a week later the house flooded and part of my selling package was a flood insurance plan. The house was the only house in the area tht was covered. I always tel ppl buy it because in the end its worth it. The family who bought the house were grateful.
Bravo pushes all the HW hags to live above their means and watch them fall on their faces.Leased homes and cars.Nay Nay’s home from the outside looks like an empty house.Does not look lived in more of a model home for sale.Too neat on the inside to be really settled into.More staged look.
