PHAEDRA PARKS: Phaedra’s BravoBlog… Phaedra Explains Her DonkeyBootyDeal With “Gone With The Wind Fabulous” Kenya Moore!

Bravo

phaedra rhoa

This week’s episode was all about business and friendship, which often makes for two unsavory bedfellows. This week Apollo and I attempted to do business with Kenya regarding our recently released Phine Body workout DVD. The business deal went awry when Kenya refused to present us with paperwork or speak to our attorney regarding her verbalized proposal.

While I have been noted as many things, a less that astute business woman has not been one of them. While we considered using Kenya, just like every other production company we contacted, we expected a budget, transparency, and the right to ask questions and receive answers. However, Kenya was opposed to all of this. She instead wanted my husband and me to pay her $100K in production fees with a 10% back end for an idea she did not invest in or assist in developing.

kenya becky arrrow

Instead of her using an attorney, which is standard for most business transactions, she wanted to negotiate the deal herself and became offended when our attorney questioned her about her budget and alleged distribution deal that we never agreed to nor received any paperwork for. I am assuming that she thought since we had known her for one month we would trust her with $100K without doing our due diligence.

money and run

This blatant lack of rudimentary business acumen made me very skeptical as her resume and actions were not consistent with what she was telling us. Everybody knows if you do million dollar deals you minimally have an attorney on retainer and no one pays anyone 50% or a 10% back end for a product that they have no intellectual property interest in or financial risk/investment in. We never asked Kenya to secure a distribution deal, she did that on her own accord, we asked her to produce (i.e. tape/record and edit) our workout DVD. However, she used my name to solicit offers.

kenya
Kenya’s primary contention was we wanted her to work for free. Which is bologna!  NOTE:  Or baloney!!   If payment of $100K is free, please let me use your magic calculator and meet your accountant. While she continuously said she was working for free, our research with over five different production companies revealed to us that with our $100K payment she would minimally net in profits no less than $47K for her services which is more than ample compensation for a day’s work and 2 half hour meetings.

RHOA Phaedra Those Who Can Do...

Unfortunately, business deals often go sour. I have never been one to cry over spilled milk, because I usually have another gallon or two in the refrigerator to pour. However Kenya, who obviously does not have any current projects and/or business ventures, became obsessed with working on our project; taking every opportunity to whine about it with anyone who would listen. Her time would have been used more wisely if she would have just been forthcoming with us, or better yet, hired an attorney to negotiate the deal.

Phaedra Apollo phine body workout video

Thankfully, we did not use her or her company and our Phine Body with Phaedra & Apollo Donkey Booty Volume I was successfully released on December 11 without a hitch or an emotional roller coaster attached to it! We do hope that Kenya will invest in a Business 101 class and we wish her all the best!

Warm regards,

Phaedra

About Stoopid Housewives

The Real Housewives franchises have become a guilty pleasure for me and I've become intrigued by 'normal' people who would agree to put their lives on television for public display and scrutiny. What are their motives to divulge their daily routines for viewing audiences to approve, reprimand, berate, castigate, attack; basically abuse and judge? Oh, just forget about the above nonsense... the majority of these people are just stoo-pid.

  1. Susie says:

All women want a fat ass.The bigger the better.Yeah right!!! Fakedra went from fat ass in yellow bikini on beach to slimmer in office talking to Kenyuk to now pregnant.Bet in her later years she will be built just like her mom Regina Hall.Enjoy whatever you got while you got it. Beauty and good body dont last forever..

    • bsbfankaren says:

O.K. well while all women may not want a “fat ass”, many women want a toned, round behind and spend hours working out to achieve it. And as we get older, our behinds are not necessarily where they started out when we were younger, so her concept is not a bad idea. I get that some women want their behinds to remain as small as possible, but there are also those of us who don’t mind having some junk in our trunks.

    • Yes, it’s clear that one day Phaedra will be obese.

      • Bizzymammabee says:

I don’t think she will be obese just because her mom has a few extra pounds on her. Phaedra doesn’t have the most perfect body, but she seems healthy. Not everyone is meant to be stick thin.

      • Bill says:

Yes indeed. Obese in the head. She is someone who fell off the cuckoo’s nest and fell head first into the ground. I’m not alone in the Phakdra haters club. Just one that speaks up. Does she really think she is fooling people. I know she is an attorney but come on’………..

  2. Sherry says:

I could not pass on commenting on this one. I love Phaedra! She just cracks me up. She has to be the most intelligent and refined of her entire group. Loved reading her breakdown of the Kenya train wreck and she is a train wreck. I’m just relieved Phaedra and her husband did NOT do business with that delusional maniac. God, Kenya grates on my very last nerve…despise the old greasy looking hag. Phaedra, you go girl and thanks for the entertainment!

    • Hoosha says:

I agree; I love Phaedra because she always cracks me up too!

      • missingrealityused2bjoan says:

Phaedra has class education street smarts and a brain. Love her!!! She is no fool.

        • Bizzymammabee says:

She is my favorite of all of the Atlanta ladies, second favorite is Kandi. Phaedra has let it out of the bag that she is kind of playing a character. But above and beyond anything else she has not acted a fool like most of them to earn that buck. She is smart enough to realize that this show is just a passing thing but her law career is her bread and butter and she won’t act the fool to harm that or lessen her status. Phaedra makes it fun but keeps it fairly respectable. I get that a lot of people don’t really care for the sexual tidbits that you hear between her and Kandi but I think a lot of that comes from the fact that she and Kandi have a real friendship. So they are comfortable and do the girlfriends things when they are around each other.

          • missingrealityused2bjoan says:

Agree with your view too. I like Kandi and her mom too.

            • Bizzymammabee says:

The relationship Kandi shares with her mom is great. I think her mom is a bit too intrusive at times, especially when she was going in on Kandi about her relationship with A.J. It is refreshing to see that although she didn’t like what her mamma was saying she did respect her and not go off. The flip side is that a lot of times mamma’s know best and can see things that are off. I can see why her mom was hesitant about her relationship with A.J. It must have been such a blessing to see that her mamma was ok with her relationship with Todd.

              • Aint Pittypat says:

ITA Bizzy. I love Kandi and her Mom. Her mom had every right to be concerned about A.J. and all his baby mamas. Kandi could have easily ended up as a source of support for them. I hope she and Todd are happy together , somehow I think they will be.

      • Aint Pittypat says:

Phaedra is in it to win it. IMO she knows this is an opportunity to make money and explore opportunities she might not otherwise have. She isn’t perfect but always seems wiling to make amends and repair things with the other HW.

    • cityfella says:

Didn’t initially like Phaedra, but I’ve come around…. Love when her voice drops to make a point or sometime get nasty…. Kenya is a train wreak and I wont be surprised if Bravo keeps her fakery around. She make Sheree and Kim look like Sunday School Teachers…. Seriously, is Kenya Moore a real person, we know about her boyfriend but based on what little we know from Miss USA can you trust anything she says… She is very attractive, but is THAT enough?

  3. bsbfankaren says:

I knew there was something very, very wrong with Kenya’s narrative, and now we know. Phaedra is not stupid, and there is no reason why a production company would take issue with a client fielding other offers. Very, very strange to say the least, but as I’ve said before, since Kenya’s production company is actually in L.A., I’m not sure exactly what she was going to be able to do for Paedra and her husband in Atlanta.

It would also be nice if just once Cynthia took the time to get both sides of a story before drawing her conclusions.

    • Aunt Dorsey says:

I’m more inclined to buy Phaedra’s version of events than KoochieKrack’s. Cynthia at least did crack me calling it the “Donkey BUTT” video.

  4. realitybash says:

Worst song ever!!! Should have gotten Kandi to write her a song. Ugh!

    • Mercy says:

It’s so stupid, the lyrics and the name! I agree with you. She didn’t even sing! She just talked and moved her arm around. She can’t have fans, come on! Kenya is the most boring housewife yet and you know that says a lot because she’s part of the same cast as Cynthia. All she does is whine, complain, and flirt with any man that is breathing.

    • mixedupchile says:

yeah, it had only about 8 words & standard club beat accompaniment – cheap as Kenyuk.

      • Bizzymammabee says:

I have no idea how Andy could say that was a song. It was just a hook with a cute beat to it. She didn’t sing a lick, just spoke a series of words. I know I wouldn’t even download that mess for free.

      • Mercy says:

        Kenyuk HAHAHA I love it!!!

  5. zxtry says:

How long must we put up with Kenya’s insufferable narcissism?

    • cityfella says:

as long as she in generating numbers….n that she is……Even though the world knows about Walter, the ratings continue ti increase….so its safe to say she’ll b around next season when we’ll learn she;s a drag queen from Oakland.

  6. NEUTRAL says:

I havent liked Kendra from the get-go..that being said, IF she did all the work she said she did & brought them a deal they wouldnt have got without her, then she does deserve A % of what she was wanting-IK we werent privy to all their talks & behind the scenes stuff, so IF Phaedra is telling the truth, then I’m leaning more towards her…a lot! Now, next episode shows just how low down Kenya is by saying she’s doing a donkey booty work out video. I’m torn between these 2 over this situation. No, I wouldnt do anything without a signed contract-I wouldnt work for basically zilch-I wouldnt give sum1 $100,000 w/out a signed contract & plan…so who knows about these 2..we do know Phaedra tried to pass off her Dr wanting 2 take her baby 2 months early (because he was laying on her kidney-yea, right!) so her Preacher momma wouldnt know she had premarital sex & got preg b4 marriage plus she didnt kno how far along she was..and she never fessed up so its crazy vs crazy but it really doesnt matter LOL

    • wildrose says:

I was under the impression that there were no talks which was Phaedra’s primary issue with Kenya. If she was a professional trying to execute a million(+) dollar deal then she would have had an attorney negotiate the terms rather than assuming that a verbal request/demand for $100,000 budget for production and a 10% on the Sales side was a go. Kenya had nothing to do with it the back end of the deal so why should she get 10%? That’s just my take on it.

      • Bizzymammabee says:

Kenya talks all that smack about producing multimillion dollar projects and is so big time that she needs a body guard. Can you tell me why she would go ahead and try to market something she hadn’t even signed a contract for? Kind of putting the cart before horse. My guess is she was so amped by the thought of an unlimited budget and actually having something to do to make a living at she lost herself. She is really stupid if you ask me. Even if things didn’t work out with Phaedra using her, she should never run around bad mouthing a potential client or source of business. Working in the entertainment industry Phaedra could have easily been a spring board and source of referred business down the road. I get that people take the shows with a grain of salt but if she were truly a true business woman she would watch how she portrayed herself. After seeing her bad mouthing someone and trying to strong arm then into giving them a cut why would anyone want to use her.

        • originalcyn1 says:

I can’t imagine deciding to produce video with an Idea a potential client brought to her is going to drum up any future business for her production company. I know this is scripted but wouldn’t you want to be portrayed in a good light.

          • Bizzymammabee says:

Yep kind of lends credence to her being a shady business person. I get that these women get paid to share their “real” lives with us, but there is not enough money in the world for me to show out and act the ass on national tv for everyone to see. That whole gone with the wind fab and twirl shit, the whole fake relationship and the acting like a ho on tv in Anguilla would not be happening if it were me. How do you ever live down that kind of shit?

            • originalcyn1 says:

I like went with the wind better. The truth is you don’t live it down and it can only hurt you. Desperate is as desperate does.

              • Bizzymammabee says:

Broke wind might be better..lol. She better learn from the moose. She at least learned if she wanted to be taken serious she better clean her act up some. I have watched Jersey Shore with my kids, yeah I know, hanging my head in shame with that one. I am amazed at the things they did on tv, case in point Snooki. She is famous for being a booze binging meatball, that partied hard and was rather remiss in her bed partners and the number of them she had. Now she is a mom and god knows one day her child will be old enough to google his mom and see/read about that stuff. How do you explain stuff like that to your kids? I get that everyone might want to have some fun when they are young but to have it immortalized like that and have that be what you are known for is just horrible.

              • madepiley says:

Now THIS is gone with the wind fabulous

            • jeanbean says:

No kidding. How do you sit at a real business meeting and defend your crazy behavior on reality tv. i wouldn’t give this woman a dollar to get me a soda, let alone expect professionalism. Bravo this show sucks. Don’t pretend any of these women have a brain and Kandi its time to move on from crazy town, nothing to be gained.

        • wildrose says:

That’s a great point you made, Bizzymomma! Kenya is going’ to hell in a hand basket if she thinks she’ll get away with bad mouthing Phaedra. WOW, can’t wait to see how she behaves in the next episode.

          • Bizzymammabee says:

I can’t wait either. It’s funny because most industries run in tight circles and you get your work from word of mouth and recommendations, let’s see how many she gets now. She has done a lot of unprofessional things during this supposed pre-production portion of the job and had the nerve to say that Apollo and Phaedra were being unprofessional. Guess the need for the Bravo paycheck outweighs the validity of her supposed production company and being an independent business woman of means.

  7. Krystal says:

I like Phaedra and I’m sure she’s an excellent attorney but I’m very surprised at the number of grammatical errors in her blog. I’m by no means the grammar police but attorneys are usually very pedantic about correct spelling and grammar. Maybe less donkey booty and more spell check is in order! Lol

*goes back to squatting to add some donkey firmness to this postpartum booty*

    • Bizzymammabee says:

Krystal I have to tell you, I work for a huge Partner and I also have two associates. I have been working in the legal industry for over 15 years now. Aside from working on legal briefs, contracts and agreements, which are predominantly templates at this stage in the game, a lot of the younger Attorneys stink with their spelling and grammar. One of the associates that I work for always asks me to eyeball and correct any sort of correspondence he is sending out.

      • Boondocks says:

In my experience, it is not the lawyer but the paralegal, that makes sure documents are grammatically correct.

        • Bizzymammabee says:

Paralegals here don’t do any drafting other than a memo to request documents or legal research. They are normally in charge or organizing closing sets, ordering corporate certificates and stuff like that. We have a template of prior deals set up and they usually refer to one that closely matches the type of deal they are working on and make changes accordingly. I do have to say that spell check has made everyone a lazy speller, I find that sometimes I forget how to spell stuff. Thank God for spell check.

      • Krystal says:

Really? I never knew that! I’ll give her a pass on this one then. :)

        • Bizzymammabee says:

It’s crazy. We recently had a meeting with administration that they formally asked us to make sure to check the documents we are being given by the associates. I was confused, here I am a lowly assistant with a Bachelors degree and I have to check up on my associates that are holding a JD.

  8. Bizzymammabee says:

I totally agree with Phaedra on this one. First off Kenya should have been prepared to present her numbers. If I were Phaedra putting up all of my money I would want to 1) use it wisely and 2) have it readily accounted for down to the last penny. Kenya wanting a back-end wouldn’t sit right with me because she wasn’t investing a penny of her money nor was she doing the work free of charge with the intent that her work would be repaid by getting a piece of the pie. I think one place that Phaedra went wrong was during the initial meeting when Kenya asked her what her budget was she should have said we have one and not said something to the effect that money was no object and that they didn’t have a budget. When that happened I could just see Kenya rubbing her greedy hands. A smart business woman is looking to make money and not throw it out the window all willy nilly. I also wasn’t feeling that Kenya thought she could do the old divide and conquer by getting Apollo on her side and then having him turn the tide in her favor. As a married woman that already saw her interest in my husband that would have put my back up again and I wouldn’t do any business with her. I really think the whole thing with Kenya running her mouth saying she doesn’t work for free doesn’t cut the mustard either. She was being paid for her services in the $100k bill she was quoting for producing the video.

    • madepiley says:

So agree about the divide and conquer thing. I would’ve had to put a foot in someones ass over an stunt like that. Not cool AT ALL.

      • Bizzymammabee says:

Made stupid shit like that is why she is still single. She seems to have no real sense where relationships are concerned. I know the minute that happened, I would have told her to her face that just ended any and all possibilities of us working together. First off she was disrespecting Apollo and Phaedra’s marriage again, and second being the money man and the owner of the whole thing I wouldn’t take too kindly to her trying to undermine my authority.

        • madepiley says:

I know. At the end of the day in that marriage Pheadra brings the bucks to the table so… courting favor with Apollo is a wasted endeavor anyways but the fact that she even tried it is very insulting.

          • Bizzymammabee says:

She probably figured Apollo’s prettiness would get her over the hump with his wife. Apollo should have also seen right through her and told her that BS was not appreciated. This is yet another situation that I feel like he dropped the ball about defending/protecting his marriage. He also knew that his wife didn’t appreciate that whole playing thing that went on in Anguilla so he shouldn’t have had any sort of conversation with her about dunking and water play again. He best to recognize that his kept ass could get kicked to the curb.

        • Bryn says:

Bizzy, You are spot on with everthing you wrote.

      • Aunt Dorsey says:

Another instance of Kenya being a dim bulb and Apollo showing that he don’t have the smarts in that family either.

      • wildrose says:

        LOL!

  9. pjbottoms says:

This is a hilarious blog because the language is so fresh (phresh) for a housewife. I loved the line….about “her lack of rudimentary business acumen….” Phadra, thank for the lolz! PJ

  10. WhoDat13 says:

Well, that blog explains the missing pieces! Kenya’s story made no sense.
And now she’s running around smirking at Pha and App and telling them, on national TV, that she is going to steal their idea and make boo-koo bucks. To a lawyer, no less!
    What a dummy.

  11. Lori Flack says:

Phaedra looked so refined sitting at her desk on last RHOA .. she was very polished right down to the sparkly blush on her breasts, lol.

  12. WhoDat13 says:

Why does Phaedra hike her boobs up to her collarbones? It looks painful.

    • Bizzymammabee says:

Because she has little ones. She puts on her spanx and her push up to make the best of what God gave her..lmao.

      • Don'tkidakidder says:

Everybody knows that part of that bountiful boobage is armpit fat….but that booty is the real deal.

        • Bizzymammabee says:

Nah that is the miracle of a wonder bra…lmao. Phaedra is not fat per say if you ask me. She has a bit of a tummy that she has from having her son. I really applaud the different body types on the Atlanta franchise. It’s wonderful to see women of all sizes celebrating their different shapes and dressing as sexy as they dare. I am absolutely appreciative that they don’t run around naked and wearing ill fitting clothes that is not right for their bodies.

          • jeanbean says:

You can applaud them all you want but I dont see the beauty. How do they buy pants to fit ? Kim K butt looks huge and lumpy not smooth and shapely. I see an epic fail for this video, how many does she need to sell to break even? I am doubting her smarts as an attorney, she is looking like a fool!

            • Bizzymammabee says:

Women with money aren’t buying off the rack clothing like everyone else so they can get a better fit. I do applaude them because way too much emphasis has been put on being skinny as a rail. What they have to do is tone it up. All body types should be celebrated because God has seen fit to make us all different. Sometimes a woman can’t help having huge breast or a big behind, I applaude when they know their limitations and dress accordingly instead of trying to dress like someone of a different size. The video may not sell millions of copy, but she will sell due to her association with the franchise. That is just the way things go, forever and a day people have purhased things simply becuase they found the person relatable, likeable or they just want to be a part of that glamerous life.

  13. Sissy says:

Fakedra is not fooling me! It became clear to me what fakedra wanted and it was FREE SERVICES, especially from Cynthia. When fakedra is caught pulling her BS, she tries to act dumb. She did it with Cynthia @ the casting call &she tried acting dumb when Cynthia called her out about fakedra saying to somebody on the phone about not giving a F*** if Cynthia makes it to Adens Bday party. She gives the look of crickets and acts dumb as if to say, I don’t know what you are talking about. I hate it when people do that. Btw- I like Fakedra, but this past episode, NOT SO MUCH!!!

  14. ChicagoItalian says:

I only wear $1,000 shoes because I rip off unsuspecting victims errrr I mean my clients–Kenya

I love Phaedra. She cracks me up with her cleaver way of spinning things.
