Examiner…”Rather than stay inside and ignore the damage, Teresa and her family decided to help those in their neighborhood who needed the help. While the family offered their electricity to those in need, Teresa decided to hit the kitchen and cook food to those who had nothing.
They even babysat children, as their parents drove through the neighborhood to assess the damage. To top the cake, “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Teresa Giudice and her husband allowed one single mother to live in their rental property, as her home was completely destroyed during the hurricane.”

I love Teresa! She is actually humble despite Melissa and Jacqueline trying to paint another picture of her. It speaks to the desire to be seen doing good works. People were helped still, that’s great. That is not the point in this particular conversation. The point is using a crisis for self promotion or not, and noting who did it. That’s all.
We can go back and forth as to their reasons. Tree helped in her way others did it in theirs! For all we know the others wanted to bring attention to the situation not to themselves or if the got some of both who cares.

EXACTLY! Thats how I was raised and I truly believe it! I’ve seen hurricane devastation many many times and those affected DON’T want or need shameless promotion! They also don’t care that you’re such a good person you went to Target and filled a couple of baskets. They want things like warmth, food, shelter, hot coffee, a kind word and to know people care, not that their tragedy is a photo-op!
I dont think she is wrong helping out I think its great, I also think its great the others helped out. By the time Kristin joined the cast of the Hills it was most definitely fake as hell. She is a terrible actress. Lauren Conrad was very real for quite a while until she learned to keep her nose clean. I see nothing wrong with scripted reality as long as the audience is clued in that there is some degree of staging involved. No one is shocked that the Hills was fake. It was still very successful.
I just looked at fauxrealityentertainment.com. I cannot believe how Jacqueline tried to rub Teresa’s bankruptcy in her face after seeing how she and Chris used Signature Apparel’s assets for their personal expenses. I am not on a Teresa band wagon or anyone else’s for that matter, but I wonder where Jacqueline got the balls to go after Teresa?
As for volunteering and helping people, it is wonderful. But, almost every place I have volunteered, some people only act like they “volunteer” to get their names in the paper.
That’s strange, SandraP. At the place I’ve helped out, you show up, sign in, spend a few hours packing boxes or whatever, and then leave. There’s not even a chance for recognition if you wanted it. Maybe some of these charities have to dangle the recognition carrot to get volunteers?
Hers, it is nice to know that there are still kind volunteers. If you have ever worked on a gala for an annual fundraising event, some will do next to nothing and then show everyone their name and photo in the paper. Fortunately, not everyone is like this, but these posers do exist.
I’ve never worked with a charity that does galas or anything like that, but I totally believe you. I volunteer and give my money to faith-based charities that really just advertise through local Christian radio and through churches. They seem to get plenty of donations and do great work that way.
I did. I used to be an art director in another life time, and worked with ‘ladies who lunch’ doing galas, invitations, etc. Enough to drive you to drink. Cat fights over placement in the programs, you name it, tables. I hated doing those and meeting with those morons.

I do a lot of volunteer work and sit on charitable boards – there are always individuals who need to have their good work captured in photo form for others to see. And there are also individuals who just want to help without recognition. IMO, none of the RHNJ have enough celebrity creds to draw others into volunteerism. When I saw the photo of Melissa and sisters posing in a Target store I was disgusted by it and thought immediately that they were helping in hopes of being filmed for the show.
My thoughts exactly!!!! I’ve taught my daughter since she was very young “being a good person is about what you do when nobody is looking, NOT what you do when everybody is looking!”

I think the whole VP Rules is staged. They close down for one evening, hire extras, and the cast just carries out their conflicts. Thats what they do for Big Rich Texas on TLC. They film when the country club is closed on Tuesdays and hire extras to act as members. The events they plan only have a handful of extras attending. I bet the alcohol served at SUR during taping isn’t real…saves money.

They’ve been doing the usual backstabbing, and pushed one of our Cockney Footie lads a bit too far (started getting nasty and personal towards another housemate), so in his native tounge told them “oi, f**king shut it, you want f**king nasty, I can give you f**king nasty”, to which Spencer told our UK BB, “I saw my life flash before my eyes, he was so close to getting physical”. That’s just Razor’s way lol, in Queens english it would have been “my goodness, I do detest to your unfounded accusations and beg you kind dear sir to cease such unfounded allegations”, unfortunatley, the footie player in question, Razor, has an accent like I do, albiet from different area’s, so they have demanded preferential treatment, as the UK lot are a bit ‘leary and scary’.
