WHAT’S IN A NAME?
Gregg obviously adores Nene and loves her dirty bath pedicure water. I love a man who makes his woman the center of the universe. Keep wooing her Gregg, you make NeNe smile and that’s a good thing.
Phaedra and I had gotten to know each other pretty well and we are in some ways a lot alike. She is a smart woman, who seems compassionate and isn’t afraid to be herself. I felt safe enough with her to share with her a very personal story about my mother and my struggles. I’ve been through a lot of pain in my life, but I strongly believe that without that pain I would not know love.
LUNCH FROM HELL
I didn’t know what was more offensive at that awkward lunch; the barrage of inappropriate personal questions from a complete stranger, the lack of sensitivity from a self-centered, immature, shallow little girl of 31, or the poor representation of a well-respected Atlanta charity. She even manages to insult NeNe, Phaedra, and Kandi by saying, “They just show up to take pictures and leave!” I was uncomfortable but nonetheless, still agreed to attend what I thought was a respectable charity event.

Why would anyone stand in front of a crowd under the pretense of charity wearing a $3,000 dress and receive personal gifts of a $4,000 Chanel handbag and have the audacity to ask people to donate money? This tacky, deplorable spectacle literally made my stomach turn, and I no longer desired to remain a party to this and wanted to leave immediately. Once the host took the microphone and cavalierly announced my hard earned title as “Miss America,” AND once corrected rolled her eyes, I was officially disrespected and done.
Disturbingly, the host prides herself on being a glorified gold digger and self-proclaimed “princess.” She not only manages to single handedly disgrace her grandfather’s charity (The Hosea Williams Foundation), tarnish HIS legacy in one fell swoop, and spit in the face of all the people who are struggling in this RECESSION and in need of food, shelter, and immediate relief. After witnessing this distasteful spectacle, I’m sure there are many people that would never want to support such a charity if this is their representative. You can fix a lot of things, but you cannot fix stupidity.

Many people have confused my title and it doesn’t offend me. However, in this instance, the blatant disrespect and disregard for my time and accomplishments that night did not fall to the wayside. When your claim to fame rests on the laurels of someone else’s achievements, you will never understand what it is like to earn or be anything great in life, sadly limited to a wife of… or granddaughter of… embarrassment of…
The truth is, I am a part of history and proud of that FACT. The year matters not. Long after I’m gone, my title will remain. I’ve worked hard my entire life from the age of 14. Being from a broken home in Detroit, I struggled to survive and my grandmother kept me off the streets with pageants. I was a gifted student, I am self-made, and 19 years later, I am now a successful businesswoman, film producer, actor, and author. However, my story is still being written.
I hope that people remember me as a compassionate, sincere, assertive, honest woman who took pride in a name because it is all we have. Our name, our reputation, what we stand for, lives we positively changed, doors we’ve opened for others, and the compassion we share is our living legacy. Miss USA is a part of my legacy. I earned my place in history and I wear my title and crown, both figurative and literal, proudly.

I tell ya, I find Kndra easier to take if I keep in mind that she is just playing a role. When I start thinking that she is for real this way I get aggravated. She didnt even try to hide the fact that she is seething wth jealousy over Porshe’s life. Her current one AND the one she was born into. Also could Kendra possibly said “him” any more? She really wanted someone to question her about that so when her lil Miss. Lawrence game was ignored she took issue with the Miss America thing.
It is as if they told her be the biggest c you can be. Although incredibly annoying I have to say she is nailing it!
LOL. I have to agree. That Miss USA tittle was quite awhile ago. No one really cares. Seems to me she has a really large ego that she likes someone to stroke often.
Yay!!! Something we agree on!! What I cant figure out with Kendra is her acting career is more recent and really not too shabby for someone no one has really heard of before so I am thinking she went with the aged Miss USA thing for the gimmicky factor. She is just soooo over the top extreme beotch that I want so badly to believe she is acting. No one really carries on like her do they?
LMAO I agree. Kenya is obnoxious and rude. I had no idea who she was and had to look her up. I am not really a Cynthia fan and kind of figured she was not the sharpest tool in the shed but she figured out Kenya pretty fast. Kenya seems to think the NeNe approach to an arguement works, if they will not agree with you, just scream over what they say. Kenya seems to think she is much more important than she really is.

The funniest line of the night was when Kenya likened her situation to Michelle Obama being introduced as the First Lady of Zimbabwe. Could that chip on her shoulder be any bigger?
Ironically, Kenya’s on camera antics are tarnishing her hard earned title. However, she does write a banging blog!

Even though Kenya’s role is to be the “troublemaker housewife” – I will say that she hit the nail on the head by stating Porsha is a dimwit. Porsha only brings her grandfather’s legacy and her husband’s football achievements to the table – she seems to be so proud that she is such an empty vessel, but then again she is far too stupid to realize that.
I agree about Porsha. She’s too much. As far as Kenya, there isn’t much difference between her and Marla (was that her name?) from last year.
I always enjoyed the Miss USA pageants more than the Miss America. Yrs ago, IMO, the Miss USA pageants were more glamorous. I do believe the Miss USA/Universe pageants are more publicized & out there “in your face” Alot of that is due to the $ behind the pageant-Donald Trump. That being said, if Porsha’s “mistake” of calling Kendra “Miss America” didnt bother her then why all the fuss about it when she ran out? I do agree with K to an extent but I dont believe P has tarnished or disgraced her grandfathers legacy-Thats a little drastic & overboard…Porsha is dingy & an airhead but I dont believe her persona has done all that 2 her grandfathers name. The way Kendra describes herself isnt necessarily how I would describe her. Maybe we havent seen that side of her YET…Ive seen rude, obnoxious, over-the-top etc She thinks shes Hot Crap! NOT!
I actually think Miss America is more publicized (Vanessa Williams fame) however Miss USA does go on to the Miss Universe pageant so I do agree that it would be more desirable if for no other reason. Kenya mentioned the difference between the two last night, but it went in one ear and out the other.
I didn’t take to Kendra this season. She seems quite stuck on herself and not very humble. HOWEVER on this episode she seems so nice compared to Porsha. I didn’t realize that Porsha’s husband was bringing the bag TO her as a present. I had thought he was bringing it to auction off for charity. How tacky. Porsha now seems like the bigger idiot of the group. AND very immature.

I agree that bringing a Chanel purse to charity function is tacky but I believe that Porsha probably bought the purse for herself then ask her husband to gift it to her or the purse will be promptly returned in a few days. I swear I have never ever heard someone claim their Miss Usa title as much as she does. I bet Trump and the Miss USA org. is cringing hearing her and watching her trashy antics. I also found this from July 2011 however even though it states she gives out scholarships to girls in Detroit I could not find her organization listed in Detroit or Michigan so if anyone else can then I stand corrected.
