Thanks for asking Pittypat. Unfortunately is was heartbreaking. The score was like 50 to 7 in our favor. Play off game. Fourth quarter. As Gabe was on the track playing We Will Rock You with the student body and the cheerleaders accompanied by the the drum line and the horns from the stands, right before his big solo a player for the opposing team was injured. Pretty bad. The entire stadium was silent. I don’t think anyone even breathed. The ambulance had to take him off the field. So pretty serious injury. This was particularly hard for our side to witness because in 2009 we had a player die on the field. I have received word that the boy hurt last night is “gonna be ok” but will continue to keep him and his family in my thoughts and prayers. I don’t want to upload the footage of the partial performance right now as is because it cut off suddenly at tragedy. My husband is gonna see about tweaking it a little bit so it doesn’t look so abrupt and also letting Gabe get his solo in there.

Thank you so much Pittypat. Very scary. This is the video of the ceremony retiring the jersey of Mr Jake Logue, our Rebel whose injury took him away from us. May he rest in peace. He will never be forgotten.

MP, sorry to hear about the boy from the other team being hurt. I hope you’ve heard good news about him today. I’m sure Gabe was wonderful as usual. We’re going to have many opportunities to hear him through the years.
I just hope I get to go see him in concert one day(not that he won’t be in concert, I just want to be well enough to go see him)……somehow I imagine him as the Carlos Santana of his generation. Unless, we have yet to hear a magnificent voice from Gabe, too.
I am happy to know that the boy will be ok. Its so scary when a child is hurt playing football. Boys just love that sport and all the moms worry because we know the injuries it can cause. Maybe your son can get to play it again.
