I instantly noticed that, too. Their hatred and contempt for just about everything is right there in their eyes, so the tape over the mouth doesn’t matter.
Why are they giving the side eye in a NoH8 ad? They have the biggest bullies associated with their foundation? What they need to do is remove the tape, the word “No”, take another picture & use it as the “What a bully looks like” campaign.

Can’t stand them..why Bravo finds them soooo interesting and amusing is beyond me. if anybody knows why the Manzos have been such darlings of Andy and Bravo I for one would LOVE to know. They seem like low class and low intellect losers to me. When Chuck lets loose you hear how street she really is. Those sweetheart edits every season are a mystery to me.

HaLaLa, myabe they’re not the darlings of Andy and Bravo, maybe “Bandy”, if I might fuse them into one, but maybe Bandy is very much amazed by the Manzoids much in the same way rubberneckers are when viewing accidents on highways, Bandy maybe feels compelled to keep watching the wreck that is the Manzoids…or I could be wrong. Perhaps Bandy sees the mass potential of great ratings that the snowballing Manzoid wreckage can provide for them. Because you know, I don’t think the edits are very sweetheart, Caroline has been portrayed as bizarrely petty and b!tchy and mean and dominating for years….I thought Caroline was cruel since Danielle, yes, Danielle had a shady past, but it was very apparent that the woman was now a mother and just living, from what the cameras showed, a pretty normal life, and she was attacked viciously, imho, and it was kind of sad to watch.
I see some of what you’re saying and agree..but why haven’t big Al’s legal problems with the state of NJ and his arrogant refusal (at first) to resign as directed by Gov Christy from his political job been shown on the show?There was never anything about that or anything about the Manzos legal problems..as opposed to the Giudices being fair game every season. That’s what I mean by sweetheart edits.

I understand the mission of this photo campaign but find the images of people with their mouths duct-taped to be disturbing and the alpha-numeric abbreviation face painting too juvenile and silly for such a serious protest. These pictures now have the opposite effect on me then what I believe the photographer initially intended. Instead of strengthening my awareness of the inequality of Cal. Proposition 8— seeing these celebrities involved reminds me more of the ‘who’s-who’ trend of the Got Milk? ad. Counterproductive because I feel the message has been trivialized.
Taping someone’s mouth shut is the antithesis to freedom and tolerance.
ITA, Meow. It smacks a little too much of stifling free speech. I do not have to agree with what you say but I will fight to the death to defend that right. There must be a way of conveying that hateful speech is hateful, period. That being said, who the Hell am I, or anyone, to say someone is being hateful because their beliefs do not lead them to think gay marriage is something they MUST support! I think it much more hateful to denigrate those whose beliefs are not what yours may be. Why does a union of two gay people in a committed relationship HAVE to be labeled as marriage; which is traditionally a religious union. I do not want to deny those in a committed gay union the benefits that a heterosexual couple garner by marriage but why does it have to change the traditional/religious definition of marriage. Just call it something else. It is nothing but a marketing campaign to FORCE their opinion on others, another form of bullying. I believe the quest for it to be labeled marriage is a back door way to break down churches to allow homosexuals to be married in the church. Mark my words, there will be a lawsuit against a church in a state that gay marriage has been legalized in order to do just that. I believe the only reason it has not been done yet is that by all polling the definition of marriage to include gay marriage as part of the definition.
Also, it seems to be a prerequisite to have one of these pictures included in a Hollywood resume in order to get more work.
I await the ripping I am about to get, be gentle and remember this is my OPINION.

I respect your opinions and admire your candor, however you Adios have an intellectual and maybe emotional response to actual issues involved with the message behind the photo campaign. That must be the intended purpose-to address the legislation itself and create a dialog. I see the photos of random celebrities in duct tape and face paint and wonder what type of product they are promoting and lose the purpose of the message because I’m reacting to the visual imagery (that i find distasteful) and my perception of the subjects who are presenting it.
I understand what you mean but the problem is that marriage isn’t a religious tradition, it’s a status under the government. Marriage affords spouses much more rights than civil unions. For example, when I was a nurse, I had a patient who was in a civil union for 19 years but her partner could not visit her when she was in a coma because she was not considered “family”. I agree with what you are saying about being intolerant with intolerance is counterproductive, but I just want everyone to be aware that marriage is a federal status and you are married in every state. If you are in a civil union, you are considered nothing in states that don’t recognize civil unions. And there are plenty more examples of the differences in rights between marriages and civil unions.
I respectfully disagree; the federal rights of marriage came far,far after religious implications of marriage. Also, I did address committed gay unions as lacking the same protections/benefits of marriage under federal law, I just think they can and should be given it a different name. Or, as you point out legal unions, expand the rights that fall under that established law. To me, it is the logical way to do it and no ones rights are denied or beliefs brought into question/ridicule.
I am a strict Constitutionalist and do NOT want to see the role of government expanded. The scope of the federal government, by design (operative word:DESIGN as in; the dudes who wrote it) was never to be far reaching into individuals rights. By design (there’s that word again) those rights were given to the states. Indulge me in a brief history lesson:
The original role federal government was as follows:
1. Defend the shores
2. Establish a system of currency
3. Deliver the mail
4. Protect individual rights (
The Constitution states in regards to rights and what is to be upheld under federal protection are life , liberty and the pursuit of happiness:
“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.
Any other rights shall be defined by individual STATES:
The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the STATES, are RESERVED to the states respectively, or to the people.
It is clearly apparent the right to life, liberty and the pursuit happiness is left to be defined by the States based on the majority vote of the people of that particular state, the feds are just there to ensure those rights are upheld by the states. A checks and balances if you will.

It is only the legal definition of marriage that is affected by legalizing same sex marriage. There is no religious component to it. A church remains free to deny a marriage to any couple it chooses. That is protected by the first amendment. Furthermore, you’re a bit light on your history. Marriage was traditionally an economic union. And polygamy, slavery, indentured servitude, ownership of humans (to cite a few) were exercised through marriage.
The reason why states should not be permitted to deny the label marriage to same sex couples is because the equal protection clause prohibits disparate treatment for similarly situated persons unless there is a compelling state interest. You cannot deny one citizen the rights enjoyed by others simply because of who they are. It’s an important principle underlying our democracy.
I will say this about those ads, they can make ANYONE look good. I wish they would take my pic I never photograph will. With out the tape and face paint that is

I live in Cali and grew up here near west Hollywood . This ” no h8 ” Ad is total bullsh*t. How bout live and let live. This is just a marketing tool for low class celebrities to get them print. What a bunch of crap. I don’t care who or what someone finds pleasure in, but this marketing ploy is designed to shock and be edgy. Looks more like a high school art project and is a total fail. In fact what is most amusing is that I “h8″ all of the celebrities depicted in their ad campaign.
Yes! Add to that, quite a few of them seem to revel in spewing hate…..hypocrites. And yes, I know this ad campaign pertains specifically to prop. 8 but it doesn’t take away from the bigger picture of promoting tolerance and NO HATE. Another example of doing whatever it takes to get their face out there for publicity whether they walk the walk or not.
I am appalled after 4 Seasons of unapologetic bullying by Don Caro and her mob that they xould participate in the no hate campaign. The Manzos epitomize hate. How am I supposed to take anything they support seriously when Caroline Manzo is a rageoholic? Hate speech is her go to vocabulary. Please Bravo please stop forcing idiotic lunatics down our collective throats . The Manzos are not role models they are entitled , smirking bullies.
@Ain’t It definitely cheapens the message but I still believe the message in and of it’s self is foul. The implication of the campaign being that if someone is saying something you disagree with immediately implies you are a “hater” and should be silenced w/duct tape, to begin with, is far more offensive, in my estimation, and should be to anyone that believes in free speech, no matter how offensive it may be to your beliefs.
Free speech is for everyone, not just those that you disagree with(the collective you, not you, Ain’t).

I always thought it was more of a tongue in cheek (no pun intended) play on words against the proposition 8 campaign in CA, not a license to H8 the haters. I guess I thought the duck tape was supposed to represent silencing the gay community–not vice versa. But either way, it’s run it’s course, it’s played out, and has lost the shock value/impact it had in the beginning.
Actually, now that I think about it–maybe the pun WAS intended? hmmm…

I am Married, but I was not married in a church. I guess because I had to procure and pay for a license and a judge to do it, as do people married in a church it is a civil union. When the states got involved and started making married couples pay for the right to marry and tax them as such it became a civil right. In my opinion the laws against gay couples getting married deprive them of thier civil rights. If you are against gay marriage then, well you dont have to enter into a gay marriage. Simple. If you believe in God and in your heart believe that it is wrong and dont engage in the activity, wouldnt God know that. What is the fear in allowing someone else to do what your not. The sin is attached to the sinner. If we want to talk about traditional marriage, we can go back and see that marriage does not have the romantic or biblical notions that people want to associate it with. Women were and still are in some country treated as property. Traditional marriage was and still is used as an exchange of land money and titles. There was no romance attached to the union. Girls and boys were forced by families to marry sometimes at the time of birth. Contracts were entered into and enforced by the church and the law. If money is the root of all evil then the church should have made it manditory for men and women to court and fall in love not marry for money.
The Manzoids doing this ad is nothing but SELF-SERVING! The Manzoids are only concerned about themselves and how they would benefit from anything they are involved in.

Hey, maybe SH can start an annual Duct Tape Award. After every season of the Housewife’s shows, we can nominate the person who has irritated us continually throughout the season. And who we would like to see a piece of duct tape over their mouth to give our ears relief of their annoying yapping. New Jersey just ended. I vote for lapband Lauren. I’m not sure why she got so much time on screen and everytime she whined it bugged me.
New York just ended so I have to give a vote to Ramona. Her descriptions of what happened, vs. what REALLY happened, where miles apart.

I was wondering to myself, why would Jillian involve herself with the Manzo’s? She is pretty successful. I just couldn’t make the connection. Then I purchased this month’s Redbook with Jillian on the cover and her story inside.
When I read the part that she has a partner named Heidi Rhoades that she lives with and they adopted two children.
Now it all makes sense. I’m thinking that Jillian is another friend of Andy’s who the Manzos kiss up to to keep them on his good side?
Just want to add, that I love Jillian! I don’t care if she’s gay, but if she is hanging around Andy Cohen, I hope she doesn’t get an attitude like Anderson Cooper. Used to like him. He definitely changed since he started hanging with Andy.

@Abby They probably didn’t pay the website host, the one that provides the servers for the website. You pay that and it can be back up in as little as an hour. I am sure they watch these sites like a hawk and Nonna tipped them off. Just a thought.
I imagine it’s been a year and they didnt pay the fees to keep the site up and running. Also I wonder when the lease is going to run out on crapface it’s been a year as well.
If Big Al had thought of this sooner he could have saved the money for the lapband.

Actually, I believe the No H8 campaign did get its start in response to Prop 8 in California, which passed in 2008 stating “only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California.”

Speaking of NoH8.This is how Juicy should have answered Mandys’ who were you talking to on the phone question. He could have teared up, possibly acted overcome with emotion and then said Albie, my boyfriend. I have tried hard to fight it …sob, sob gag, tongue thrust, sob, one more gag for good measure . All these years of being on Bravo have turned me gay and I am in such pain about coming out. Of course, I lashed out and called my wife those bad words, she represents everything I have come to hate, breasts and vaginas.
