According to TVByTheNumbers, the numbers for the Real Housewives of Miami are to be found somewhere at the bottom on the Atlantic Ocean. Miami was hit by a ratings hurricane. A football game and MTV’s season finale of their show, “Awkward,” beat the second episode of the Real Housewives of Miami in the ratings game on Thursday night!
RHOM is so far down the list that you’ll just have to click the link above to see its standing in the ratings…

Why is the re-vamped RHOM doing so badly in the ratings? Here’s why… and it doesn’t take any BravoBrainiac to figure this one out!
Bravo has thrown Miami into the mix when viewers are invested in TWO other Housewives shows that are still running: RHONJ and RHONY! Bravo expects Housewives’ viewers to take in Miami while all the drama is still going on with New Jersey? Yes, just New Jersey. Bravo threw New York in the mix, just as they have done with Miami, while the RHOC and the RHONJ were still going strong.
Ratings prove that Housewives viewers get invested in their favorite franchises. Ratings also prove that throwing New York into the mix was not such a good idea, as their ratings were in the tank from the get-go… just as Miami’s ratings are at the bottom of the Atlantic! Just as Miami, the RHONY ratings were extremely disappointing when the franchise premiered, leading to an immediate call for cast changes… but this is about Miami!
Bravo has taken a good thing and destroyed it. Bravo is bracing itself, knowing that the Housewives franchises have jumped the shark and simply don’t care what the ratings are. Bravo is headed toward not relying on their “reality” core programs, based on the fact that Bravo hired Andrew Wang in a newly created position… head of scripted TV at Bravo.
If Bravo doesn’t care… why should viewers??

Couldn’t agree more. I can watch some of Bravo’s shows (if there’s nothing else on), but there’s no way I could ever watch any of their shows a second time (which I did a few years ago). While I used to like the housewives’ shows, I’ve replaced them and have learned to enjoy to Big Brother, Celebrity Apprentice and Survivor. I would like nothing more than to see WWHL and Miss Andy tank because I think that show is terribly boring and I don’t watch anymore.
Personally, I love Miami housewives and will continue to watch.

Miami definitely brings the glamor! I watched afternoon re-runs on Bravo. The scenery is amazing. gorgeous location shots. Not all that invested but it was more entertainment than I expected.

I think Miami would have done better after the NJ reunion was aired (at least part one of the reunion). I’m still waiting to see how NJ plays out, so I am guilty of lack of interest. Not the show’s fault tho;)

I like Miami too, so what Romo said “suck it!” It really is fun to watch , not so boring and stale like OC and NY and not at all dark like NJ and (last year at least) BH. Not to mention how super boring Atlanta was last season. Hey everybody watch Miami with us! Let’s leave all this super stressfull and maddening season of NJ behind!

I’m hanging in there, I already had a spinal injury so this latest accident had just sent it in to max overdrive. I am actually on on Loratab , flexirel and valium. I feel like I should not even be commenting. lol but I am so bored. Hopefully tomorrow I can drop a couple of these scritpts I don’t really like being in LaLa land. I have been very proud all of these years for getting by on the very least amount of medicine possible but in this case it was unavoidable.

I am on same meds as you & know about commenting while taking some meds… Gets a lil crazy;) the meds start talking… Anyways, hope you rest& feel better!! It’s awful dealing w spine, muscles etc…
I agree that New Jersey is too dark. The whole destroying families thing is just uncomfortable and sad to watch.
Too dark?? Last year around this time Bravo was airing footage of a dead man for ‘entertainment’ and to increase their own profit. (RIP Russell Armstrong; IMO, Bravo still has blood on their hands.)
What’s one more family to them? The network’s actions have repeatedly shown that they’ll stop at nothing in this ‘era of judgment television,’ as referred to by Francis Berwick, (Andy Cohen who?) and they’ll continue to feed their talent to the lions as long as the ratings are there to support.
Next up, it’s looking like Dr. Paul Nassif’s head will be served to us on a platter. It’s enough. Enough! (to quote our ‘Chuckie.’) But, it seems, 2.5+ million viewers each week is enough to justify Bravo’s immoral decision making.
OMG; agree with you 100% yes Jersey is getting bad and not in the good way and yes BH was very dark and awkward last year. I think with NJ they should scrape the show or start over with a whole new crew!

Miami gets the stepchild treatment again by getting sandwiched by NJ and NY on one end and ATL and BH on the other. At least we could use a parody recap to help us get thru the season since I dont think they’ll be back for Season 3. I say do it @madepiley!
I’ve been wondering from the beginning if Lea gave birth to her son because she seems a bit old.

I was surprised by that too. Actually when the trial was going down in real time and I knew Miami was filming I wondered how or if they were gonna include it in the footage.
You caught that too MP? I was so annoyed at Lea saying John Goodman (defendant on trial) wasn’t drunk and was a really nice guy. He was 2 times over the legal limit, left the scene of a accident that killed a man and did not call 911. Oh and Roy Black had him adopt his 42 yr old GF to protect his millions.

Wow when I was watching it didn’t click in my mind that it was the same man who wanted to adopt his girlfriend to protect his money . I loved how her son seemed to sort of be giving Lea a ,” I’m a kid and even I dont buy that BS,”.

I think Miami along with Atlanta is very under-rated. I enjoyed this episode and i would rather watch a telenovela than watch a bad interpretation of A Bronx Tale and with Atlanta and Bev Hills coming back i think Miami has no chance in making it because Bravo put it in a no so good spot. Viewers need to let go of Season 1 and give this show a chance because Mama Elsa’s kitty litter throwing makes my Thursday nights.

Atalanta is not underrated, Atlanta get ratings and they make more money than any of the housewives, BRAVO wise. Atlanta ALWAYS have high ratings, their fans are just not that invested in the blogs of it all, but they are loyal. I think the reason Atlanta get up to 4million viewers, is because of African American push, i know some folks who doesn’t watch Bravo the whole year, YET watch the whole Atlanta season
I’m not talking about the ratings but how the way the housewives fans think it’s trash but they watch New Jersey. I’m from Atlanta (DeKalb County) and i think it’s amazing that Atlanta is the FIRST show on Bravo to feature an all Black cast. Some people think it’s degrading black women but they haven’t watched Basketball (Hoes) “Wives”. And i also think Atlanta is the hottest cast. But yeah, the reason why it’s so popular is because it draws in African American viewers and that’s a good thing for Bravo.
Im giving Miami a chance. Havent watch episode two yet. But I will watch it just because I live in the cold North and like to pretend Im not.
Not surprised at all…this is what happens when a Network who has *reality* shows hires stupid idiot producers who crossed the line of professionalism and got caught thanks to former employees. ie when Danielle tweeted that she was txted by Bravo to put the book on the table which was put under the table by Bravo production, I knew immediately that when we see Jac receiving txts and have Melissa saying in her pathetic US Weekly article that Jac told her that someone told her something was going to go down at Posche, it was a Bravo Producer. Plus also in Melissa’s stupid US weekly story she talks about Angelo outting Teresa because his mic is on and the cameras are not..DOH we already KNOW that what Angelo says is just a back in the day iCarly spliced up audio clip. All participants have already said that Teresa was not involved…so why bother watching any HW shows since we all now know it’s basically FAKE like majority of the those seeking their 15 minutes of fame. They should have taken the hint from those like Bethenny, NeNe, Jill, and Alex who have clearly moved on and above the Bravo crap! If or when Teresa goes…the HW shows will be totally gone! WTG, Bravo!!!

I saw a little of that show and turned it off; yes, Jill the pill still thinks she’s something; and OMG what the heck was she wearing? She tries to dress young, okay getting mean now and her face; those expressions on her face and her huntch back; go away Jill!
I love Miami. The show goes from one tasteful mansion to another with beautiful Miami locations and seems light and bright. But wow those ladies all look at least 40 and beyond and so plastic. But they are fun to watch, except Lea! She is the true witch of the bunch…but sounds like Ana has a really powerful boyfriend as Atty General for Fl! And most of the men are nice to look at! Truly a funny telenova. And love the mix to accents! Exoctic!

To each his/her own, but to me their homes remind me slightly of Al Pacino’s mansion in “Scarface.” It’s an overload of faux-Tuscan/Spanish/Mediterranean decor, with a dash of 1980s Miami Cocaine cowboy design thrown in for good measure. Same thing with RHONJ–they all have the exact same cookie-cutter faux-Italian decor. It’s a shame, because, having lived in South Florida, I know there are many architecturally interesting modern-style homes.
while i do agree running all the housewives shows at the same time does saturate the market, Bravo has no choice beacuse of the 23 episode seasons they are doing…… I also think that viewers are unforgiving especially with the first season being so horribly bad I mean they only spent 50 cents on the season 1 intro….. Once you piss off your viewers its hard to earn em back remeber the last season of rhnyc everybody said they wouldnt watch if jill,kelly,alex came back ? well they were fired and people still didnt watch it took a while for ratings to recover

First of all, let me say, I am OBSESSED with this blog. I read it every day but never post. So thank you, SH.
I live in Miami, about five minutes from the stupid Biltmore that they showed last episode. One of my friends told me that she knows Karent and can CONFIRM that their relationship is nothing but BS. She has always lived with her parents (which really is common here with the latin culture). Second, Lea is a POS. She has a reputation for treating others like S&^% and that includes members of her own family. Nonetheless, Mama Elsa and her santeria rice spilling will make me continue watching. I’m just waiting for her to show up at La Caretta and get arrested by one of my hubby’s buddys for DUI after too many mojitos.

My take on the last episode regarding Rodolfo and Ana is that the two of them flirted back and forth…neither are innocent. Hopefully, now that Ana realizes hes a cheater, she stays away.

They not only sound alike, but it looks like they all use the same plastic surgeon. I can tell the blondes from the brunettes, but it’s hard to pick out one blonde or brunette from the others. My husband watched for a minute and commented there must be only one plastic surgeon in all of Miami. Plus, I like Mama Elsa but I feel so sorry when I look at her face; what happened to aging gracefully?
Sorry, I can’t get past the accents. I lived in a part of NJ that surrounded me with similar accents and after almost 4 years, I had ENOUGH!! I guess I now know what it’s like to be in the minority. Anyway, yeah, same faces, same look, same accents…….. BORING.

HH: No, you’re wrong. I have many friends and extended family with many different accents. And, my family are all Italian, so I’m used to Italian accents. I was speaking specifically about spanish/hispanic/latino accents. My husband and i were in the minority where we lived in NJ and after a few years I had had enough of solely hearing spanish.
So you’re tolerant of all accents, just not Spanish, got it.

The settings in Miami are beautiful and the women are a whole lot easier to watch than Chuckie and the Manzoids. None of the Miami women are out to destroy one woman or a family.

Northern New Jersey accents are the worst in the country. I’d gladly listen to Brooklyn or Boston accents before listening to people from northern New Jersey–they have a unique nasal and guttural quality that is nauseating. My parents are immigrants from Europe and they have accents, but they speak fluent and grammatically correct English. I find many foreign accents very charming, but what I find very unattractive are people (e.g., Teresa’s parents) who have lived in this country for decades and still do not have a 100% command of the English language; there is no excuse for that whatsoever.
If it weren’t for my dvr I wouldn’t be able to keep up with them all. Granted Jersey has always been my favorite, but am looking forward to the episode in Miami where Mama Elsa seems to be fighting with…*could it be*….one of Kim Zolciak’s old (sugar daddies) friend? Isn’t this the same guy that all of the ATL ladies had vacationed at his home?
I tried to watch the Miami housewives, but I just couldn’t. I found it boring, and the women annoying, especially their accents. And Marysol’s mother is just horrifying to look at. When she is on screen, I just cringe. I love Miami, but these women were bad choices!
Am in for RHOM! The first two episodes (ever if ya think about it) were solid and I enjoyed them. Much more so than NY or NJ (last episode was horrible, turned it off!) lately.
It is hysterical to me that KarenT tries to portray herself as living some chaste, traditional, respectful, old Latin lifestyle by, as she said, living with her parents until marriage (and that is a bad thing, by the way–not something to be proud of). All this while sharing breakfast with her gigolo and her parents, after the two descended to the kitchen after sleeping together. Cognitive dissonance, much? She should be utterly mortified to have her old-country parents sit there across the table from her boy toy Rrrrrodolfo after she (possibly) had sex with him, and even worse, to hear the disrespectful gutter garbage he says to her parents (being with a blonde, etc.). And oh, by the way, she may want to stop the ageist comments about Ana, because she doesn’t look any younger than her (to me, anyway). Rrrrrodolfo is so obviously playing her, but she refuses to see it.
