Andy Cohen does play a role in the editing process. He has said so directly in interviews. With that said, overall @yourfriendkitty and @carolineself have the most editing power. They are the executive producers of Season 3 and Season 4 of #RHONJ. They work on location and off location. They send the editors what footage to use as well as tell them what to keep in and what to cut out. @carolineself is tight with the Manzos while @yourfriendkitty is tight with the Gorgas and Wakiles. Cat edited @PDKhair as well as multiple ex-coworkers of Melissa’s, who were present at the salon and fashion show, completely out of the two-part finale. Their interactions made the Angelo incident look g-rated.
Obviously that move was deliberate. Furthermore, Cat held Penny back from defending Kim when Joe Gorga called Kim a drug addict, a c and went to punch her. Even worse, as you will see in the finale, Cat completely butchered the conversation Angelo had with a friend at the bar to make it appear as though Teresa masterminded everything. The unprofessionalism of Cat Rodriguez and Caroline Self is disgusting. In this economy, why are these the type of people who have employment? Only a network like @BravoTV would believe that their viewers are so incompetent that they wouldn’t see past the blatant bias.
NOTE: Andy has also said that he is not as involved with the Housewives franchises as he one was. Andy is directing more of his time and energy to his talk show. However, believe every word from WillLove… he was there!

Absolutely. I believe every cast member knew everything and played their part as they were told to do. Tre had no one looking out for her so she is the sacrificial lamb as we shall see at the reunion. I’m over it all. Not watching the reunion.
I’m not watching it either. The deal breaker for me is that the Manzo “kids” get to speak and that Eeyore gets to quiz Tree on the definitions of words she used in her blogs. This from a broad who admits she doesn’t read..shut up Eeyore and go eat your feelings.

What ya need to understand about Lauren is bullying is all she knows. She has been bullied for years by her mother and brothers. I don’t even think Don Caro would shed a tear if the girl died tomorrow. Her dislike for fat Lauren has been has been evident since Day 1. What everyone seems to forget about Teresa is English is not her first language. So while Andy and the rest of Bravo are constantly making fun of her for using improper English, none of them know how to speak a 2nd language. It’s just another way of bringing her down and trying to destroy her self esteem and self image.

The problem with the ‘edit to make it look the way you want’ thing is it will work to some degree, but of course people will catch on. The more they try this , the more people will figure out what’s going on. Bound to happen.

@Grammy, that’s true for some; however, others will just stop watching (as I did) because the show doesn’t make any sense. I found SH a while after Season 3 ended and was relieved to find out why it was all such a fustercluck.

I agree with Grammy8. This should be tweeted and retweeted. Also, I wish there was a way to get this brought out in a magazine to help reach those who don’t tweet or read the blogs. This is just not right! I reallllllllllllllllly hope everyone does not tune in to the reunion! It’s the only way to send a message to Bravo. Tune out of WWHL. All he does is alter the polls anyway.

Bravo had the nerve to make a statement last year after the Posche fashion show fiasco that all that Bravo does is film the ladies’ lives and does not get involved. This is so misleading and could not be any further from the truth. It seems everyone else who speaks out discredits them, especially Alex McCord with her video blogs for RHONY!

The editing manipulation must be what Jac and Chuck are crowing about. They seem pretty convinced that the ” subtitles ” are going to indict Teresa in the public’s mind.
Well Cat may have started this, but it sounds like Andy or whom ever is now in charge, perpetuated it at the reunion(presuming at this point). Why not have Caroline and the rest of them come clean, if not the producers involvement, at least their own, in the manipulation of the show.
Andy certainly is responsible for the soft interviews with Gayle and Anderson. So he took what Cat had started, and is trying to finish it. Trying to steer us into seeing Caroline and Jacqueline the way they want us to see them, and casting Tre in a disparaging light. Why? (someone mentioned ratings, but they get ratings regardless of who is the bad guy/good guy. My question was and still is, Why must Caroline shine? Why do they want us to like her so much that they are willing to manipulate and give her so much positive PR outside bravoland. I have stated before, asking a peer to do a soft interview, knowing there is a bigger story behind, is a big favor.
Andy doesn’t like Teresa. That’s obvious in Reunion shows and WWHL. Whether it be because she pushed him at the S2 reunion or because Joe Giudice referred to Gays using the F word or because Tre made a comment about Jews, Andy doesn’t like her. That became clear to me at the S3 reunion.
i think most of andy’s dislike for tre is really his dislike of joe. not for the implyed gay slur

I have a theory. Could it be that Andy and Bravo have already committed to giving the Manzo’s their own show before all the fan hate? Maybe contracts were signed and they weren’t counting on the Manzo’s being azzholes and that the fans would hate them.

I use to think that also but has Caroline really shined this year? The comments about Lauren being fat, an azzhole, crazy etc. were not cut. Also Cristophers vomit scene and constant talk about mommy and Albies GF story and big Al looking bored to death with his family really show the Manzos in a poor light. I think Bravo is poking fun at the family and it is about time. Remember Caro on the radio with no callers, that would not have been shown 2 years ago.

OMG it makes so much sense!!! In one of the posts Tigress says: “However, be prepared to see somone finally have enough and expose the entire franchise”! It was like I had an ah-ha moment and I screamed out Alex!!! Not sure if I am right in my guess but her recaps are “exposing” the franchise. And then the comment: “This stinks like old cat food left lying in a dish all day”. Could this be a reference to the producer?? I may be reading too much into this but it’s very interesting reading this stuff from a year ago and applying it to the present.
So what happened that Jacqueline couldn’t go to the reunion the next day? I thought Jac was outed for stripping in Vegas at this posh fashion show.
If anyone could explain why Caroline was all over Teresa about the horrible thing she did to Jac at the last reunion I would appreciate it.
I personally didn’t think the episode made Tre look guilty. She kept saying her heart rate was up and the look on her face both in the shop and at the event was of horror. She genuinely seemed that she wanted nothing to do with the whole thing….
Someone needs to go stick a camera in Cat & Caroline’s face & get an answer as to why they would want to manipulate RHONJ to the point of what some may call bullying.. In addition to all the editing & manipulation…I also truly believe the Producer’s favorites (Caroline, Melissa & Jacq) all had alot of their “Talking Heads” redone (after the fact) to degrade Teresa even more. It is soooo obvious and the new re-edited TH’s are vicious !!

This last episode it dawned on me that the Don’s hair was longer on the talking head than it was on footage of the rest of the episode. Hmmmm?….

My question is… What did Teresa do to make the producers hate her so much? Did she not kiss their rear ends like the other HWs did? That’s my guess.
1. She “assaulted” Andy at the S2 reunion. 2. Joe Giudice referred to Gays as f*** so Andy was insulted. 3. Teresa made some comment about Jews, and Andy was insulted again. I can’t remember what she said but Andy lashed out at her at the S3 reunion. Bottom line is Andy doesn’t like her. He makes it very clear at Reunions and when she appears on WWHL. Whether none of the producers like her or just bigwig Andy is a good question, but I’m sure he has the power to twist RHONJ to his liking. He’s also made it very clear how much he likes the Whorgas, so….
Well, if Andy and Bravo want to go after Tre until they crush her, so be it. I like her and nothing they do will change my opinion of her. But I will not watch the reunion and watch the rest of the cast crucify Tre for just being who she is. I am so through with Bravo and stupid Andy.

Kim P. is one of Melvin’s sisters and that seemed really strange to me given the limited time she’s spent on air. (I mean, as far as I know, none of the producers are tweeting Cookie Laurita — or any one of Caroline and Dina’s many brothers and sisters — happy birthday!)
We know from the christening, though, that MeGo’s sisters do NOT like Tre. Maybe getting in good with Cat was part of MeGo’s plan to “take Tre down?”
If so, it looks like it kind of blew up on all of them, with Cat ending up losing her job and MeHo and JoGo on television arguably high on whip-its in front of their children and endangering them. Egad! I want Mama and Papa Gorga back on the show — they make sense to me!

Now after reading this and seeing the comments from the other ladies regarding subtitles- they are gonna give her the bad edit in the season finale prolly so the other cast members won’t look quite as bad for hating her all season. Ive been thinking Melissa set up T with Angelos help. Remember when she released those pay stubs from Lookers? That was when the contact with Angelo started IMO. Melissa isnt embarrassed about her dancing past…but she does blame T for the rumors. So why not set up T…knowing the truth isnt as bad as people think…prob never stripped, just danced. The truth will come out, but she takes the opportunity to set up T along the way. And Jac knew about this even at Ts house that day. Ive said it so many times….Jac dumped T for Melissa…they are BFFs. Holy look of anticipation on Jacs face! And at the PFS…she was WAITING for something to happen. All over her face! So really…even if Cat hadnt spliced and diced the Angelo conversation about T being behind the set up….I wouldnt have a hard time believing HE was in on it. IMO Bravo can keep nailing Tre to the cross but the viewers aren’t buying it. The obvious manipulation with the heavily edited dialogue that sounds stilted and illogical? Subtitles? Give me a break is the best Bravo can devise?. We aren’t stupid. We all see the bullying and the blatant attempt to cast Teresa as the villain ala’ Danielle Staub. The audience doe not care if MeHo was a stripper. Please this girl is either prancing around in pleather like a stumbling my pretty pony or fending off the sweaty advances of her midget husband. Meanwhile we are treated to cringeworthy dialogue about their sex life. I’m supposed to be outraged or shocked that Teresa outed her SIL? MeHo’s crimes are far worse than being some shitty dancer at a dive bar. She is completely unlikeable. If I want to watch desperate 33 year olds dressed in tween clothing from the discount store I’ll go to a singles bar!!!
Tre is the breakout star, Bravo needs her as much as she needs them. The one thing that has me thinking is that Bravo allowed Tre to film her Fabellini launch and also filmed Dina dissing Chuck. That speaks volumes to me. Because if they really want Tre to go down in a ball of flames, then why show that she is successful and have Dina confirm publicly that Tre is not the cause of the rift bewtween Dina and Chuck.
And I don’t think it can be stated enough, It’s not that I don’t think that Tre and Joe Gi are perfect are even folks I’d befriend, it’s the holier than thou attitude and bullying by the rest of the cast towards Tre and her children that make me Team Teresa. Also the systematic lying and trying to destroy her for no good reason besides jealousy that she has been successful. For the record, adult children to not fall into the same category as children ten and younger, Chuck.
I hope you’re right, Sparklie. If Bravo edits the reunion to blame the rift on Teresa, I am done with this show. I’m already out on BH because of that twit, Aviva is killing NY for me, and seriously – I need a little bit of honesty in my reality tv. After the disgusting way Richie, JoGo, Lapband and the Manzo boys, Zito and BGG behave, which I have no interest in watching (hello! They’re not even housewives!), this show has become worse than Jersey Shore on the disgusting factor. At least with Jersey Shore, I know to expect that! ugh. I am ready for this season to be OVER.

Ms. SH, If you watch Jacqueline carefully before Angelo approaches the table, she appears to wave at him and then point to her mic. I went back to watch it after reading about it in the comments on the RHoNJ FB page. If you could make a video clip of it, it may make a good blog entry. It does look very suspicious.

I felt that this past week’s episode’s edits were favorable to Teresa for once, and made some of the other cast members look extremely bad!!! When that Lookers dude introduced himself to Teresa, she looked clearly shocked. She had clear panic written all over her face and actually left the room. I was so surprised that BRAVO let us see that. Whether it is true or not, they made Kim D look like the viper in this situation.
Also, i was AMAZED that Bravo let us see what a straight-up bitch Caroline was to Lindsey when she visited her babies at their apartment. Oh, and also when Lauren wanted a breakfast sandwich, she glared at her like “Eat up, Pig”, which actually made me burst out laughing. Either she was angry that Lauren is bigger than ever and still packing away the chow, OR she didn’t want anyone to show any interest in the food that Lindsey had made. Either way, she came off pretty bad.
Richie’s comment about Kathy’s you know what wasn’t exactly flattering to him or to her. That could have been edited out, but they chose to show it. Nice, huh?

So if Bravo was so unhappy with Cat and they fired her…why are we going to see the Angelo conversation at the bar at all? Why would they air it if they acknowlege it was spliced and diced to hell and back? Why fire her then air her work? Bravo had an entire year to FIX IT OR LEAVE IT OUT ENTIRELY. Those were the only two reasonable options. They may have fired her, but they like her work….otherwise we wouldnt be seein this Angelo conversation AT ALL.
I’m thinking they fired her to show their parent company NBC that they were taking care of things. Thought they could pacify them and still take Teresa down. Sneaky.
Was she fired because of her editing or was she fired because she interfered during taping? She held someone back (Penny?) when Joe Gorga is verbally and almost physically assaulting Kim D when he arrives from the restaurant he was waiting at next door. I believe it was Penny who was trying to come to Kim’s aid, and Cat held her back so she wasn’t able to. That’s a huge no-no in the world of “reality” tv.
When Bravo was going a few weeks and not airing episodes I was suspicious that they were re-editing things cause they were finding out that WE knew what they were up to. I think they needed extra time to re-edit and add in sub-titles to make it look like Teresa masterminded everything. It was just too obvious. They used the olympics one week and then they used a holiday as another reason there would be no show that week. They needed time to get the bully gang together to re-shoot talking heads.

Was just reading a bit of Johnny the Greek’s tweets and he said he & Penny were edited out of episode due to favoritism from the little kitty and the dirty kitty. Said Penny spent all day long doing everyone’s hair & they just wiped her out completely and this was filmed at HER salon. I bet this is what they were editing when Bravo took 2 Sunday night’s off. That’s why we probably were treated to more Manzo scenes: Seeing Lapband dancing with glee in her empty store & breakfast with the Manzo’s in Hoboken. I think those scenes were put in last minute when they decided to take Penny out. I have no idea what Penny said on camera. Maybe she confirmed Angelo’s story since Penny knew Melissa very well. Since we all know that’s not how Bravo wanted the story to end so POOF….her scenes were deleted.

Andy, this cast/producers are true bullies. Pictures in the NO HATE camp., makes me vomit. Andy hates straight women and I feel exploited and humiliated as a female viewer. The filth, lies, bullying Teresa for 2 seasons! Is there an organization we can bombard to get the public’s attention on NBC/BRAVO/ANDY/ and this particular CAST?? I am pissed. All of them were in on this, including both Kims-Poor Teresa…the only one clean-but skinned alive by these vultures!
