I have a question that could apply to all the ladies of this franchise but particularly so with the New Jersey “wives”:
Why, if it is so “painful and depressing”, when you admit that your own marriages, children, family and relationships have suffered from your being part of these shows, you still return season after season when it is unnecessary to do so? Why do you think opening up your lives to this degree has any meaning when you weep, wail, and wallow in this stuff?
Outside of “the money is too good to pass up!” or “I love walking the red carpet while being called a star!”, I can’t imagine any reason good enough to convince me that what they do, and keep on doing, is beneficial to anyone involved.
Ummm…Nene Leakes makes $750,000 per season + $150,000 for appearing for the reunion…shoot my kids would only suffer a little while, but that’s ok momma can afford a psychiatrist, “put a smile on for the camera”. BTW…there are lots of good kids on reality tv, specifically the real housewives, Brianna, all of Gina’s children seems leveled headed, Ally, Avery, even Luann’s daughter is OK, she seems down to earh, minus that racist rant,Kyle’s kids seems leveled headed, also Kim’s. Lisa’s Pandora seems down to earth, we all know she married a gay…that’s ok though.
Besides some of the RHOBH, MOST of these wives ARE NOT WEALTHY…See being means you have MONEY, but being WEALTHY means you have TIME. Most of these wives, are upper middle class at BEST.

I’ve got a feeling they would do it without the money being a big factor.
They have been given a “taste of the limelight” and they are not about to let go. Jill Zarin did not need the money, she was living quite comfortably, but you would have to pry the microphone out of her cold, dead hands before she gives up any thought of staying away.
To think that Nene makes that much money is absurd. No talent, but a penchant for behaving like an out of control fool apparently is all it takes to cash in.

I think Teresa has a lot of backlash, from season 1 and on. I don’t support ANY of the housewives, i just read the blogs. However, i have to say Teresa deals with these backlash much better than the rest. I think since she’s more popular, she knows how to handle them. I mean Kathy and her family are having a HARD times dealing with unruly fans. They ALWAYS make that known. Melissa responds to EVERY article on the net, and TRIES to prove their lies. Caroline has been having issues with folks on twitter, and has been answering harsh criticism of her, with sarcasm. Jac just roll with the F words and S words,so is Lapband Lo.

I can tell you that it is exhausting arguing back and forth with the fans on Twitter: just trying to squeeze my thoughts into 140 characters is a lot of work!
But you know what, it’s all worth it and I do it for the fans! And only the fans,not myself. I love to share and though it may not look like it takes a lot of work to keep “reaching out”, and may have an effect on my family life, it is all for the fans!

yes agreed ……it is very obvious that Bravo took caroline’s side…Just look at Caroline’s bravo blog , Bravo posted most positive comment about her and only few negative comment , but if we look at the “like button ” there is huge differences . Positive comment about her only gets few about 3 – 5 “like”…and negative comments about her get big hit like 127 peoples in one comment ..wow!

What do you have to do to get banned by Bravo? I used to submit constructive criticism and they never posted anything I wrote. Finally, I said “f” it and started making comments more like what I post here (tons of snark with a bit of mean thrown in for good measure) and then I got posted a couple of times. I was referring to Bravo just to be clear. I wrote a very masterful , scorching hot, detailed reply to a Don Caro blog and got the red warning about posting inflammatory content message. My post, shockingly, did not go through. I recvd the message 2 or 3 more times no matter the content .Not a single post went through after that. I could write Look at the pretty puppies and it would not post-LOL!
This whole Bravo post slant is the same tactic often used in politics. Make the person on the undesirable side feel alone in his or her views, intimidated, and begin to question his or her sanity. Why does EVERYONE feel so differently than I do? How can the “majority” be wrong? Often it is quite effective……many of us have, for whatever reason, stopped commenting on Bravos website. Were it not for sites like this one…frankly, moreso this one than any, would you even KNOW that Bravo has tipped the scales? Probably not. I would feel alone, my feelings unvalidated, and maybe quit watching these shows all together. Like I ahve said before, I, personally, am always looking for ways to validate to myself that I am not crazy….so I have sought these forums out. Maybe y’all have different reasons for doing so. But, no ……I do not believe the polls…in Bravo world or politics. I think the powers that be at bravo became so aggitated that the public took Teresas side….because I believe they are emotionally involved….they decided to make it look like they were winning. I dont know if this will work for them or totally backfire. In the end, will you stop watching the show if T is once again the devil next season? Thats the only way to really vote here.

question for you all: i never looked at the cookbook and i always wondered if it truly was a nasty dig or if ppl thought it was just her being silly? teresa always claims it was in context of a joke, but i think it’d be hard to fit that kind of a “joke” in a cookbook… still don’t think someone should hang onto it this long, joke or not but always have wondered what it really said.
If you read the way she writes these books, I think it was a tongue in cheek kind of comment. Even at it’s worst, I couldn’t find a way for it to be INSULTING…. Smart@ssed comment maybe, but insulting? No…..
I looked at the book in the bookstore. It was not mean at all. It was very lighthearted and playful in the context of some very nice things she said about them. It is much ado about nothing, IMO.

Question: why did the Guidices have two very different answers regarding getting paid to have articles for In Touch magazine? Joe G states his wife does get paid yet his wife, standing a few feet away from him at Napa spa swears she does not receive payment? They do get paid — for the photos. Teresa has never denied that. They don’t get paid for the articles and have no control over the content. I don’t think her husband contradicted her, he just didn’t make the distinction between the photos and the articles. He said the magazines pay them, which they do. For the PHOTOS.

Where did you attend J School ? Magazines do not pay for articles they pay for the pics. If they paid Teresa they would have to give her control of the content. Did you know for instance that magazines pay for tips? They occasionally assign reporters to sift thru court docs but usually have a very willing, low level employee to tip them off about Celeb divorces,bankruptcy or criminal proceedings. They probably did ask teresa a few generic questions but developed the content as her storyline progressed on the show hence the comments from her co-stars and their pics were probably in the public domain or licensed by Bravo. Let’s be real MeHo was giving the dirty to Danielle and quite likely one of the two were tipping off the mags.
You seem like a very genuine person.Journalists are required to follow a code of ethics. It is self governing so not all do. Youngest G graduated from J school and one of her friends worked for a rag mag briefly after graduation. Didn’t mean to sound snippy. The mags don’t have to pay Teresa for info because most of it is in the public domain and they want to be free to make up the rest and slant the content to attract the most readers.

Here is the way I see it, If InTouch wanted to do an interview with MeGo about SH commenters that rag on her. And they asked her about madepiley and she said ” yep she posts negative things about me all the time” And then InTouch grabbed a screen shot of what I said in a post and put a picture of that in the corner of the article, then I would not be able to say jack squat about it because… I SAID IT. So… I really don’t see that MeGo, Kathy and Don have a leg to stand on when it comes to this argument.

She admitted in a blog that she does interviews SOMETIMES. She also said that they have pictures that they can use in other articles about her and there’s nothing she can do about it. So there are times when she is asked questions, and other times when they use her picture that she had no idea was even coming out. It doesn’t change the fact that what she gets paid for is the pics, not the interviews and someone above mentioned why it’s like that.
Also, when Jax and Tre were in the hotel when they went to Chicago for Jaime’s wedding, she did tell Jax that she sometimes answered questions for the magazines. No big deal, they asked questions, she answered them. The other HWs are just crazy jealous that Tre gets to be on the cover of magazines. I don’t think any other Jersey housewife has been on an actual cover – other than when Jax shared the cover with Teresa. I also believe that Mego has a deal with US Weekly. If you look at her website, under the Press tab, there are about 10 articles (no covers) about her. She probably also got paid for that, for the pictures, whatever. They are all jealous they are not on the cover.
Teresa gets paid for the photos only. I suggest Don Caro, Jax , MeHo and KopyKathy go back and press rewind. IIRC Teresa admitted she got paid for the photos and actually shot them back-to-back. Perhaps that is the 7 cover deal mentioned in the storyline..Teresa is a minor celeb appearing in a minor gossip rag and has zero control over content or editorial decisions. If Teresa had control over what In Touch printed then she would be an Editor. If In Touch wanted to say the Guidices have a two headed baby from Mars they could. Also and again it doesn’t require rocket science to figure this out and Teresa has confirmed that she is required to do a certain amount of publicity for the show. Magazines.Radio interviews. Press tours. The more you put yourself out there on Bravo’s behalf equals a bigger $$$$ contract. Teresa may even be contractually obligated to do X amount of PR.The Kardassians get paid to tweet for products they shill. The RH get paid and have a separate contracts for the RHONJ reunion shows.
Wacko’s blog is very misleading. She states ” did the article for the right reasons AND without pay.” Jax doesn’t mention the picture (s). People Magazine pays for pictures, not articles. I’m not buying into her no compensation nonsense.
I agree.It’s beyond irritating that they underestimate their viewership’s intelligence. People cannot use the photos without paying a licensing fee.
But then Jax thanks People on Twitter for giving her space “on the cover”. You need a freakn magnifying glass to see that pic. And, nobody is buy that issue of People magazine because of that Jax article, nobody besides those who watch the show knows who she is. Meantime, Tre sells In Touch. They wouldn’t put her on the cover if she didn’t. And btw, the reason why People has such a big distribution is that they mail the magazines FOR FREE to Dr’s offices and Beauty Salons. I’m going to have a good laugh when Bravo decides to move in a new direction that does not involve Andy. I made the mistake of watching Gallery Girls and I have never seen a dumber more unlikeable group of people. Whoever put that show together needs to be fired. Here are a few questions (I am posting here because Bravo deletes everything I post and besides I think he makes up all the questions himself and assigned names to them. Most of the questions come from the mid west and as a Midwesterner I do not appreciate it) 1. Why are you offering Maloof her own show? 2. Will you drink a Blk. Water on camera? 3. Will you please do a Highlight “package” of all of Ritchie’s comments about Teresa? 4. Kathy describes herself as a peacemaker. ask her do explain that. 5. Where does Melissa live and how many nannies does she have? 6. Is Jac friends with Kim G.? 6. Ask Caroline about the apt at the brownstone cuz you let her get away with a lame answer last time. 7. Why didn’t Rosie go on the RV trip? How can Teresa cook every night at home and still do all her book signings? 8. Can Tarzan sing? That’s all I want tot know.
Oh one more: there is no way all their luggage fit into 3 RVs …please explain.
Speaking of the polls I noticed an interesting trend on the polls which allow multiple votes. For the first few days the results seem to be in favor of Caroline and Teresa gets slammed( often by a landslide). It actually happened with the poll here about which housewife from NJ should go. I noticed because I was shocked when I voted and the results had over 40% choosing Teresa and less than 20% for Carowhine. I checked the next day and Teresa was below 40% and Caro’s number had risen. Then once again there was a surge of votes against Teresa. This seemed to be in the first few days of the poll. By the end the results made a lot more sense given how much most of SH commentators find Caro to be unbearable. And yes I do realize I need to get a life! Knowing the way the don operates it wouldn’t surprise me if there isn’t a concerted effort to manipulate polls to get votes against Teresa since they clearly loathe the woman and are consumed by their hatred of her. And no I don’t love Tre I just cannot stand Caro, Caro Jr, and Jax.
Kiki: The original SH RHONJ poll was scrapped and replaced with one which did not permit multiple votes. Forgot to click one little indicator when setting up the poll! Yes, the first poll was skewed! TFC!! SH

Caroline: apt above brownstone, Al frauding the State, Caroline lapband?, Lauren’s lapband, favoring her sons over her daughter, calling her daughter an A$$Hole on tv, nasty remark about Teresa’s marriage-why is it ok for her to make such a nasty remark about Teresa and Joe on camera, when she got pissed about Teresa’s remark OFF CAMERA to her brother about Melissa??, rumors of several of her siblings not speaking to her
Melissa: Stripper?, Danielle, lying for a whole year about her contact with Danielle, the pool party where her young children were playing in pool and a bunch of idiots were drunk and throwing each other into pool, almost on top of Antonia,
Kathy: Take her to task about Rich’s remarks – Teresa has to explain away and apologize for Joe, lets hear it for Rich’s disgusting remarks. Also, lets hear it from her about the pool party with the Gorga kid too, imo those children were in danger of being seriously hurt, with their parents right there, unlike the baptism, when Teresa left Audriana at the table with both sets of grandparents, to talk to her brother who instigated a huge fight, then Kathy kept harping on Teresa about Audriana being “unattended”. when teresa left the table, Audriana was ATTENDED.
That bitch Katty with unattended children BS really pisses me off. Where were Midget Joe and Melisskank’s kids when Joe, MeGo, and MeGo’s haggy sisters attacked Teresa? Who was attending to them?
I don’t believe that jacked-upped poll AT ALL! Tre is clearly the star of the show – the ratio of people that like and hate her is probably 50/50 but the total number of people that like her is way-way-way more than the people that like Don Caro.
Tre is by far the best known character from RHONJ. We see Tre on nationally publicated magazines – (covers i should add), news shows and CA. Lover or hate her – people like to see her. The other’s may have their own fans but they are mostly local. Besides local events, I don’t see the Don or her manzoid boys anywhere but on Bravo. As much as Bravo tries to play up their popularity – they just aren’t that enticing. They don’t have “it”. After seasons of being on the show if they haven’t gotten “it” by now they never will.
If Clooney dated Carole he’s blind. She has an old lady face and buck horse teeth. Would he really date a wrinkly bag over a hot body? If Carole wasn’t 95lbs soaking wet no guy would give her a second look. Period.
Clooney is a manho and it behooves me that women worship him?!!! Who in their right mind would want to be in his loooooooooooooooong list of pin cushions? I can’t respect women that don’t respect themselves and then try to put themselves out there as trail blazers in the feminist movement! I always believed we are much more evolved sexually than men because we DO value the other’s emotions, why the Hell did we fight, so we can disrespect our bodies and other’s emotions just like men???
