Seriously?? My DH makes bracelets like that (it helps his arthritis + he loves being creative). It costs him about $5 to make each one. The clothes? FUGLY!! What’s with the Flinstone’s look? It’s 5 sizes too small, it shows their tummy and makes them look to be about 4 mos pregnant (I dunno if they’re fat to begin with, or if these dresses just accentuate the tummy area), and thewy’re tacky!!!!!!!!!!!!! It’s amazing that bravo could only get monied women in BH and not in any other town. There have got to be plenty nouveau riche with real cash in ny that’ll go on the show. I still want to know what Bravo’s excuse is for canceling the episode where Kim D has a party at her house and goes off on the Gorgas for being shady and not paying the caterers and others after their Christmas “charity” party. Recall that Bravo did run commercials showing snippets of the fight Kim D has with Joe Gorga, where she shouts at him, “I play with the big boys!!” I was psyched to see Kim D throw dirt in that little sh*t’s face but apparently Bravo did not want us to see that arguement. Damn!

Thank you for bringing that up, I wondered about that scene. I thought that scene was at the Posche show and after he cussed KimD out and then she went ballistic. But if it was at her house, then Bravo or more importantly the production crew which is very bias at that time didn’t want information coming out about Joe Gorga and other people. They don’t even show that part or snippet anymore.

Hey SH, not to be the mean guy on this blog but have anybody thought for a moment if Nicholas’s problems of Autism can be and are related to possible drinking of Alcohol while trying or during pregnancy. I’ll post a link, and as I said I don’t like bringing this up but I had a family member who I come to find out was a secret drinker/alcoholic and I think that Jax is one too. Don’t get me wrong she drinks out in the open at functions (thats how it starts) but I’ve noticed that she will be drinking at any time of day or for anything when a coke or lemonade or water would do.
Also this is important remember earlier in the season when Teresa went over to Jax to exercise with Jax trainer, did you notice that something was off about the trainer. The trainer was drunk and the cameras made a point of showing that she had a 1/5 of vodka in her bag. Now you wonder if it wasn’t brought up by Jax or Teresa (as far as we know editing) why waste time showing this. Could it be that the crew was trying to tell us without telling us something. And that maybe what Teresa said that made her miss the reunion was that she was an alcoholic and tie this up with what they said Nicholas has Autism people would think that she drunk during her pregnancy (and we still don’t know since it’s private what brought it forward, the doctor could have said so but they aren’t going to say it in public).
Something to put out there, because a lot of little clues are starting to come to the forefront and it’s slowly or possibly making a little sense now.

I have been thinking about that too, and it is possible if you read science articles about possible side effects to the unborn baby when abusing alcohol during pregnancy. Serious problems can happen just by a little zip of wine.
That is a big leap. Too big. We have no idea why her son has autism. We also have no idea how much Jac drinks. Yes the trainer obviously had some issue. But Jac looked disappointed in her.
I do think that is totally ironic that albie was quasi promoting blk as an autistic miracle drink and bingo – Nicholas is diagnosed…. Guess that squashed that theory!
I’m a little bit angry about this accusation, for many reasons, so I’m going to cool down then respond. Don’t want to get kicked outta my fave site :S
One of my husband’s friends and his wife had a baby, and the wife drank through out the whole pregnancy, and she breastfed that baby for 2 years. Drinking the whole time. And I don’t mean a drink or two either, she would be completely drunk, go home from the bar, breastfeed the baby, and go back to the bar. We went to a picnic with a big group the week after she had the baby, and she had a beer in hand all day long. She claims her son has autism. I’m thinking Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, and I’m not the only one in our group who thinks that way. I’m not saying Nicholas has fetal alcohol syndrome, but I thought of this boy when I read this post.
The lady next door to me is 5 and a half months pregnant and smokes like a chimmey and floats around the pool all day with a beer in hand….go figure…
It is a possibility, except we don’t know that Jax drank while pregnant. I didn’t notice her always drinking until recently, so it is possible that she didn’t develop a drinking problem until after she had her kids. It seems to me that she has personal issues and stress that has made her drink a lot in the last season…Since no one has said they saw her drinkin while pregnant, I wouldn’t say that is what caused her son’s illness. There are women who never drank in their lives and have autistic kids.
BubbaJax drinks. A lot. I will never forget the time she went over Asslee’s boyfriend’s (at the time) mother’s house to introduce herself. It was the middle of the day and she got rip roaring, rolling around laughing like a moron, drunk. It was embarrassing. On the cruise, she got really drunk and commandeered the piano at the bar……there are plenty of examples of BubbaJax being really drunk and inappropriate. Having stated that, I don’t think that her drinking has anything to do with her son being autistic.
Ya, I didn’t notice until recently her drinkin in the morning? The Bailey’s mug and the wine goblet on the rv. I think it has really gotten out of control in the past year, maybe it is their financial situation…I just hope she isn’t slurrin around all day everyday instead of nurturing her kid now.
I agree. Though in past seasons she seems to have been overly fond of her drink, she has definitely accelerated her use of alcohol this last season. She always seems to have a glass in her hand no matter the time of day or the appropriateness to the situation. I hope she has a nanny or someone to look after those children as she spends the day drunk off her @ss.

Never paid the caterer from the “charity” Christmas party at their house. $300,000 owed to a sprinkler sytem company unpaid. Owes $ for windows, taxes at least 20K. Alot of these issues were rumored to have been disussed durring fights on camera…however Bravo nixed them all so we wont see them. EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM. Obvious bias. Plus, you have tO prove to be unable to make your mortgage payments for the bank to give you a loan modification…and Melissa TOLD us all they got one….too stupid to research WHAT a loan modification IS before opening her large overplumped lipped mouth. These people are completely under water and desperate. But you WONT hear that from Bravo…

Well besides all the videos of her drunk out of her mind, one of my favs was when Brandi called her out for getting the book out “in a hot minute” and she went bsc with the number of lives she was saving by not waiting months. more than likely her age…autism risks spike exponentially with the age of the mother at birth..past 25 it keeps going up and up exponentially. Women are having kids much older than they used to, and that is why the rise in autism numbers. This is by no means a knock on any mother that has had a child older in their lives. My best friend had a child at 40 and she is wonderful and healthy, etc…it is just a medical fact and a crap shoot the older you get when you get pregnant and have kids. I am not making any kind of social commentary, just citing a medical fact, so please no comments. Just research it yourself. My obgyn gave me all kinds of literature on it when I was pregnant at 30, and so I spent time researching it myself.
A new study found that there is a strong possibility of a link between autism and the age of the father, not the mother. Just read an article in my local paper about it. It has to do with the number of genetic mutations the father passes on to the child. A 20-year-old father typically passes along about 25 mutations to the child, while a 40-year-old man passes along 65. The mother always passes on about 15 mutations regardless of her age. Since many genetic mutations manifest themselves in the brain, they would likely show up as autism, schizophrenia or other mental illnesses/disorders. Of course this doesn’t apply to all cases but the scientists believe it’s another missing link in the puzzle. Sorry I don’t have a link to the article but it was fascinating as I have a family member with autism.
Just read an article at MSNBC, stating that it’s not the mothers age. Researchers are saying that a woman’s age isn’t the problem, its the fathers age. They are saying that people are waiting longer and its the fathers genes that mutates much higher than a woman. A woman’s genes will mutate at age 25, so they are saying its because there is a 30% increase of older fathers ( 40 year old and over). I can’t remember if we can post a link or not. Google MSNBC, there are two articles in the last couple days. You can read the articles, I haven’t watched the news in the last couple days, but its apparently pretty big story when I googled Fathers Age linked to Autism.
There definitely are scammers and lazy parents out there who are quick to have their child diagnosed with some condition or another to excuse their laziness or their childs laziness. I had a friend who had a boy who simply would not do his homework. You can say…maybe he couldnt understand it or maybe he coukdnt read it…..NO. He was just fine reading the directions to his new video game or whatever he was interested in. The parent made excuses for the child. She had him declared “learning disabled” and he recieved extra help for the entirety of his schooling. This is not hard to do. School districts have taken heat and lost funding for not helping these kids. Of course we want the kids who have legitimate issues to get the help they need, but I dont think we shoukd pretend like this laziness and lazy parenting doesnt exist. It is an extreme disservice to a child to be told he has a problem when he does not. And society foots the bill. The rest of his life. If I have offended anyone, it was not my intention. I just needed to say that.
ITA. My heartfelt sympathies to any parent with a child who legitimately has a disability or whatever. But, there are scammers out there that seek to have their child diagnosed with something, ANYTHING not only for schooling purposes, but for $$$. They get money from SSI for their disabled child.
You have to be 18 to collect SSI.
Then SSA or whatever. People with disabled kids get a check from social security. Look it up: http://www.ssa.gov/kids/
They do get SSI, but you better believe Social Security calculates each and every penny, and once the disabled person starts working and earning income, they REALLY watch it. If a disabled person earns “too much,” SSI is reduced, plus there are annual interviews with a case worker. Lots of checks and balances in place to prevent fraud because unfortunately it’s so prevalent.
There has to be a medical reason, just not being able to keep up in school. I am disable due to O.A in the hips and I had to fight for it. I worked full time since I was 15 along with going to school. Had a near fatal accident, and after a more than year recovery went back to my job as an Industrial Electrician. The doctor wouldn’t release me to go back to my job so the union told me I couldn’t work until they received the doctors note clearing me. Doctor wouldn’t so I went back to Residential once again the doctor clearing me became a problem, so I started my own contractor business. Until it became impossible for me to work doing jobs essentially by myself, I went to work in a plant working Industrial Maintenance. I did that for another 5 years until I wasn’t able to move or walk to well, I guess the doctor was right about going back to construction I wouldn’t be walking at 30. I made it at 31, so I will be getting new hips and learning how to walk for a third time. Social Security while not even covering a third of what I used to make, especially since it took 5 years to get approved, allows me to eat and pay my bills. It’s not welfare, and it isn’t free money, it’s a insurance program that ever worker pays into and can receive if they become disabled. I paid into it, and let me tell you I had a private disability plan, and they wouldn’t pay. The reasoning for denial, I was too young for O.A in my hips regardless what the x-rays and mri proved. Ask any lawyer and they tell you, it’s pretty hard to get them to pay, just saying so you become aware of the process.
I’m so sorry you’ve had so much trouble. I hope things go better for you in the future!

My sister has been trying to get SSI for her 9 year old son for a couple of years. I think it takes quite a while to get, and a lot of jumping thru hoops. Which I think is right. There are a lot of people who take advantage. But my sister says that if your kid gets SSI, then he gets it from birth, so my sister said they will get a huge check in the beginning, if they can get my nephew on it.
