Nene Leakes…
Ms. Leakes’s move into acting started with a fan of her scorched-earth style on reality TV: influential producer Ryan Murphy, who co-created “The New Normal” and first cast her as a recurring guest on his hit series “Glee.”
She’s currently working on the show in Los Angeles with a “Real Housewives” crew in tow. She convinced Mr. Murphy to tape an appearance for the show recently, but keeps the cameras confined to her dressing room on the “New Normal” set. “If [fellow actors] see me walking around with a reality-show camera, they won’t take me seriously,” says Ms. Leakes.
As an actor she stays in character on set, and has asked to be addressed as “Rocky” even when she’s not doing a scene. She wanted to change her signature platinum-blonde coiffure for the role, but the producers nixed the idea. NOTE: Don’t think Nene has anything to be worried about re fellow cast members “taking her seriously!” Surprised she’s not demanding no eye contact and to be called “Miss Leakes”!!
A year and a half ago, she took on a new manager, Steven Grossman of the Collective, a Los Angeles-based firm whose clients range from film stars to YouTube sensations. To boost her crossover appeal, he says, they set out to shift the perception of her from “bitchy and mean” to “sassy and confident.”
It’s unlikely that her leap into network roles will open the door for other reality TV stars to follow. “A lot of them want to be famous actors; very few people have the talent. NeNe has an exceptional personality,” says Shari Levine, Bravo’s senior vice president of production. NOTE: Ms. Levine simply says Nene has “an exceptional PERSONALITY”…
When asked how her transition to acting sits with her “Real Housewives” co-stars, she keeps the coals stoked. “They have all said ‘congratulations’ and ‘we’re proud of you.’
Do I feel it from everybody? That’s another story.”
NOTE: Nene continues to play “Nene”… not an acting stretch! Will the “New Normal” make it through its first season? Good for Nene that she has that “reality” show to fall back on!
Is this the prelude to a “we have both grown & changed so much, let’s forget the past and be friends” makeup between Kim & Nene? a la Tamra & Gretchen. I hope they exchange Louboutins…

Um..I was a huge Glee fan until Nene showed her ghetto self on the show. She is just a loud, crude, talentless female and unfortunately has stained a once highly entertaining and talent-filled show. I don’t know even if she leaves I can ever watch it again with the original enjoyment. Thank you, Nene.

Seriously? I’m confused. Did you actually see any of the season? In the entire third season, Nene has about 5 minutes total in screen time. A 3 second shot in the nationals episode. Her part is completely expendable, she’s so easy to miss and she is no where near ghetto on glee compared to housewives. The show’s decline has nothing to do with Nene either. You jumped ship way to early or you’d know all this.
According to NeNe she had acting experience prior to HW. I am sure this acting gig has fed her ego and I would not miss her on HW if she wasn’t there.
If it looks like a moose, it’s always gonna be a moose. And a mean moose it is. Do I see a Vodka coming out called Moose infused Vodka. She couldn’t handle Star. Roll over and let someone else succeed. She wimped out. Most moose’ fight till the end. So many other people are more deserving of a sitcon than her. The Moose’ previous acting experience was on a stripper pole. Ya don’t need a SAG card for that. Aaarooooo!!!!!
I liked Nene in S1 & 2, but after her ego blew up, she is just tragic to me. And was a lot prettier before. Well well…

Lol that was funny SDH. I never understood why people call her moose? This woman disgusts me. I lost respect for her way back when. When she started being a nasty B, i was done. Those kind of people u just tay away from because they blow up at any second. She continues to rear her ugly nasty head and i wont even watch anything she is on. Why feed her behavior? Sorry hunny, she aint gettin my nielson rating

shame on “glee.” so many young talent out there looking for a break. people who have actually studied acting. now they put her in another show. more shame on those who hired her. give those who have studied and really need the work a job, and let nene make her money off the housewives show. didn’t she say she was rich????
