The real truth is that Lauren and Caroline were getting endorsement deal with Dr. P for diet supplements etc. Lauren was to say she used that diet to lose weight and get a fat check (pun intended) to be spokesperson. However…..lazy as the Manzo’s are she didn’t want to do the “real” work, so she got the lapband. Lauren and Mama Manzo kept the lapband a secret so they can act like Lauren lost it from the supplements…which is a LIE. However,someone was going to rat out little Miss Manzo secret lapband procedure, so Lauren had to come clean FIRST. So she seeked out a tabloid to sell the story first (…..sound familair ms hypocrite Caroline) so her plan wouldn’t be exposed.
Remember when someone asked Lauren how she is losing weight. She tweeted a picture of those supplements (eyeroll). One screen Lauren “hated to work out” like mommy. She refused to consistantly eat right, and she hated the egg white crap. Like her mother AND father before her….Lauren took the quick and easy route. She is now trying to say she is dieting and eating right now…blah blah. When your stomach is the size of a jelly bean of course you can’t stuff your face that easily!!! Lauren and Don C of full of shizz. They are quick to criticize, judge, and belittle other people….but when it comes to their crap….it’s sunshine and lollipops…with ZERO accountability.

Supposely someone from the dr office, which ia a HIPAA violation. So the mag called Lauren for a statement and she gave them the story to look bettter. She said she was keeping it a secret bc of confidentionally agreement. BS, she got caught!

Ive had two co-workers who did the lapband and both gained their weight back within a year. Lauren is young and hopefully that is on her side . I wish her all the best. However Don caro’s fat comment, the constant drinking (alcohol) and eating are bound to sabotage Lauren. Al Sr. looks like he may have gained a portion of his weight back. Not sure how public scrutiny helps anyone struggling with weight loss.

I totally agree about the utter stupidity of making Lauren’s struggles with weight a storyline. Any mother who cares about their kid would have strongly advised her against it IMO. But hey, Mommy Chuck needed a new storyline. She can only wipe so many counters! Plus, Albie already took one for the team – revealing his embarrassing law school debacle. I keep saying, it’s Critterfur’s turn now. He must have some deep, dark painful secret or struggle he can share with the world so Chuck can stay in the spotlight for another season! I do not believe that anyone is truly holding Lauen to an “unreasonable” weight loss standard at all! The fact is that Lauren bragging about the lapband to lose 30 lbs. sets up others with this amount to loose to Fail!

I probably was not very clear as i intended. the unreasonable standard I was referring to was Don Caro’s expectations of her and the constant comparisons to her brothers aka The Princes of Smirk. Lauren is definitely compared unfavorably to her brothers, The Princes of Smirk, by the Don. I just can’t bring myself to feel much sympathy for her, though, because she is so much like her mother. I mean, the concept of someone being treated that way by their own mother is sad and tragic, but the reality of the smug, self-righteous, snobby, officious, know-it-all Lauren is the reality with which we are presented.
Laurens problem is that acting “just like her mother” is her only way to try to gain acceptance from her momma. Would be nice to now what kind of girl Lauren would have grown up to be without feeling the need to mimick mommies pathology.

Lauren doesn’t even wear much makeup. What makeup artist have you ever seen that wears makeup so rarely? Even the MALE makeup artists wear SOME makeup lol. I don’t see it being a “passion” for Lauren, therefore I can’t see it being a success.
There are a lot of things BRAVO should not have shown, and things said for the public to witness, but I guess these people went into it with their eyes open or they have piss poor Attorneys who do not represent them very well. They are paying for their 15 minutes of fame now.

Unless this website is promoting the use of Lapband surgery to lose weight, this is misleading.
As soon as Lauren lets her lapband out, the pounds will come right back. God help her is she ever becomes pregnant, she will really put on the pounds. If she is an asshole and a food addict as her mother tells us, she doesn’t need a lapband she needs a shrink.
Cosign LifeIsGood. Lapband is not a miracle cure. If you continue to eat more food than can be held in the palm of your hand the stomach will stretch out again. You have to kick the bad food habits and get moving. lauren may occasionally act ugly but she is an attractive young woman maybe we are all meant to be a size zero. A smile on her face and a better attitude would improve Lauren’s looks more than any weight loss surgery-IMO.
Thats what I was wondering about.. the stretching out. I figured it would stretch out. Makes more sense then when Lauren claims she went in an intentionally had it surgically loosened.
Actually, everyone with a lapband gets it adjusted over time as they make progress toward their goals.
(Maybe you were thinking of gastric bypass, which does permanently alter the size of your stomach and also bypasses much of the intestine. )
It is totally possible to regain all the weight with either procedure however if you don’t closely follow the program.
ok thanks Zoe. Thats gotta be a pain in the butt to go in and have it loosened. Does insurance cover that too? Is it included in the initial cost? My husbands friend had it done and I dont think he has gone back to have his readjusted but maybe he has and we just didnt know.
My understanding is that if your insurance covered the surgery, it should cover the adjustments as well. But I’ve read some blogs of folks who’ve had the procedure and then lost their insurance (or who paid for it on their own) and then couldn’t afford the adjustments. Apparently most folks have what are called “fills” to make the band tighter as they lose the weight and their stomach is shrinking and then it’s let out again as they go onto a maintenance diet at or near goal weight.
There were some long discussions about this on a weight-loss support site I frequented a while back, as the site was open to anyone trying to lose weight even if they’d had some sort of bariatric surgery. The blogs of the folks who’d had the various surgeries were fascinating, and really opened my eyes to how difficult it is to follow those prgrams. It’s not the “easy way” that some folks assume it must be. I really had no idea how much was involved before reading those blogs and chatting with some of those folks.
Actually,having the band adjusted is an office visit. It entails an ultrasound and the doctor either withdrawing or adding saline to the band via the port–uh huh, with a rather large needle! And insurance usually covers the surgery, but I have never known anyone whose insurance would cover the adjustments. Those are around 400 bucks a pop in my area, so its gets very pricey quickly.
Wow! Wait, so people that have this done have a port after that? Like forever? Maybe Miss Andy should ask Carowhine to show her abdomen to see if there is a port or not so she can prove she ain’t had a lap band like she claims.

I can’t for the life of me understand why the Manzoids think that they are so special and wonderful. Their FEBUS attitude is so lame. They think they are smarter, more talented, and morally grounded than anyone else. Nothing could be further from the truth. All they seem capable of doing is putting others down. This girl who started out by consuming little more than “liquid egg whites ” for 2 months, then hopped on the surgical table and we’ve seen her pounding booze in every scene even AFTER the surgery. I won’t even get into her MENTAL health, because that would take 5 paragraphs. This is a prime example of a person who’s lost weight in a HEALTHY way? Is this company nuts?
And I’m sorry, but is 30 lbs really considered a ” remarkable ” weight loss for someone who underwent stomach-size-altering SURGERY AND claims to work out ” 2 hrs a day, 5 days a week”??? Weight loss surgery is NOT for the faint of heart whether it is lapband, Open RNY (Which I had btw almost 8 years ago) You have so much you have to go through in order to have it, meetings, one on one’s with the surgeon, nutritionists, psychiatrist and the number 1 thing they stress is sure, you will lose weight and rather rapidly but if you don’t get it right in your head before undergoing this surgery you will not be successful. Took me awhile to get there and all the while I kept researching, attending meetings etc and I have kept the weight off all these years later and my stomach hasn’t stretched out that much at all. Once you have this surgery it’s eat to live, not live to eat. The Manzos are a poor poor role model for this type of surgery and it really makes me sick! It undermines the people who truly had it to be healthy and all the hard work we have all put into being healthy.

There is so much you have to prove as far as what methods of weight loss you used in the past, how much you lost, regained etc etc. Lauren and her family are setting up people to fail by promoting things the way they are. 30 lbs? with a lapband. If you do the research you have to have a certain BMI and if your BMI is under the recommended you have to have co-morbidities ie: Diabetes, High Blood Pressure. This kid is what? 24 I have yet to hear of anything she has other than a piss poor attitude and mean streak.
Love your post! LOL! Bad attitude and a mean streak. My BFF had stomach staple and it was a year of counseling, meetings with nutritionist , surgeon, lots of pre-op. I know the Bariatric Assoc and AMA have changed the a the guidelines but I had a difficult time believing any Dr. would perform the surgery if LapBand had only had 30 pounds to lose. My precious darlings could be absolute nasty biotches too but they were pretty much out of the nasty phase and worrying about Grad Schools, careers by Lauren’s age. IMO lots going on with Lauren that has very litle to do with her weight. Attitude is everything and surgery can’t fix that.

I am sure there are many who took a screen shot of the tweet admitting to the lapband surgery. Maybe the Manzo’s go by the rule, if it is not on the show you can’t talk about it? And they call Tre a liar. Ya know, the federal government takes it seriously when you make blatantly false claims when it comes to health problems. I smell desperation here.
If someone has had lapband surgery and needs this product in addition to it, then fine, advertise how she’s honestly lost the weight from point A to point B. Congrats to her for slimming down, however she did it.
The FDA has very strict guidlines when it comes to claims and advertising from supplement / weight loss companies. This is most definitely fraud and false advertising. It is a fact that she lost the weight with the lap band from her own words in her interview and from Big Al’s statement on TV.
Once the FDA starts receiving complaints from viewers and is tipped off about this, they will have to stop claiming that the products are responsible for her weight loss.
This situation is similar to the Kris Jenner article about her plastic surgery:

I don’t think Lauren Manzo has any relationship with “True Healthy Products”. The company is also using Jordin Sparks, the U.S. Olympic Team, the Women’s Water Polo Team, Chaka Khan in their Press Releases and ads. Seems like a very unethical company that just uses any name that they think will drive hits to its website.

On the topic of Manzoids (and sorry if this has been previously mentioned…I’ve been away for a few days) . . . did anyone catch the unbearable “Manzothon” yesterday? It featured THREE HOURS of previously viewed footage with the Manzoid boys (they’re not men) and Greggie-Weggie commenting at commercial breaks. Thankfully, I had DVR’d it. I got through only half of a single hour and had to delete it, along with the other two hour recordings. Total snoozefest!!
LOL I did the same thing, the manzoids weren’t even featured just when it went to commercial the 3 of them acted like complete fools….all it did was feature the shows nothing with them….I deleted all 3 hours after watching 45 minutes of the first hour…..a complete waste of time….

In fact, I recoiled in horror when I realized that my DVR had set to record it, based on being set to record new episodes of RHONJ. I cancelled the recording of those shows, ‘cuz I didn’t want the Manzoids polluting up my DVR.

Very disingenuous. I would understand if Lauren ever evinced an affinity to eat natural foods and explored homeopathic avenues. All we have seen is a clear case of feast or famine. NMB if she gets a lapband but be honest about it. SapphireLady1970 clearly expresses the difficulties.
It’s NOT healthy, to cut yourself open, to shrink your stomach in order to lose weight. Body wasn’t meant to have a stomach the size of an egg!

Didn’t Caroline say that children emulate what they see at home! I think that dicribes Lauren very well. I think Lauren going to weight watchers with Vito or Christoper would have been more interesting than her story line this season. With 4 children I have found getting their own apartment was on of the best diet plans there is! It’s amazing what being on a budget will do for your figure.

There is a faux twitter account that is supposedly by the manzoid creatures, can’t recall the title…but it has some nauseating wallpaper of the guys.
Worst of all was Chris, trying to look sexy, pulling on one corner of his shirt’s neckline, to “show off” part of his chest.
Instead, it actually looks like he has a real BREAST that he is exposing. He’s chunky, but never expected to see a full on moob like he’s got. Needs to get his various hormone levels check and up the testosterone stat.

Yeah that one is funny. I always check in with them daily to see what they have said. Have you seen the parody account for Crooky’s Ayers. MississippiLoverBoy or sumpin. Good stuff.

So I just checked my dvr for tonight’s NJ episode. The description says “Teresa’s horseplay may jeopardize business” What are they smokin? Jeopardize it how? More than Vito’s brown bear that threatens to gobble up profits? Rich’s pathetic wandering boner causing numbers to plummet? unbelievable.

Considering she only lost 30 lbs in 10 months 3lbs a month after lap band I consider that a failure too. I saw a current pic of her an Crittoter today and it looks like she has gained most if not all back.

I had the lap band done 3 & 1/2 years ago & lost 146 lbs. This is just a tool to help you get started to a healthy life, I go to weight watchers every week & watch my intake EVERYDAY! Lauren needs more then a smaller ass to help her she needs medication. She is a true (Woe is me kind of person).
