TERESA GIUDICE: Tree Allows Gia Giudice To Be Focus Of Further Ridicule, Insults… Because Of Dance Video… UPDATE: Clarification

August 6, 2012  6:00 pm   UPDATE August 7, 2012  4:30 pm

PLEASE NOTE…  This item has NOTHING to do with little Gia Giudice’s dancing ability or her “passion” for dance or her future dance endeavors!

ANYONE who thinks this is totally MISSING this point of this post.  Obviously, the point needs to be spelled out…

THE POINT IS THIS:  If “reality” show “stars” are willingly permitting their children to be a part of the “reality” spotlight, they should also expect the negativity that comes with the fame-seeking spotlight!

Teresa tells Intouch May 2011: “The other day at school, a kid went up to my daughter and said, ‘Your family is embarrassing.’ She told me she was crying.”

The Facebook debacle should be a prime example of what to expect…

 Teresa Giudice… “HUH?”

Teresa Giudice’s daughter, Gia Giudice, made a dance video which was released last night.    After viewing the video, several questions came to mind and a few conclusions were reached.

Gia ‘booty poppin’ with another little girl on the Jersey Boardwalk for three minutes shows that Gia needs to get to Abby Lee Miller’s dance studio quick!   In fact, that might not be such a bad idea!!

The RHONJ needs new blood desperately… all of the New Jersey crew should get da Bravo boot… and Tree could become a ‘Dance Mom’ on Abby’s show and “discuss” Gia’s future in dance with Abby Lee Miller!   AbbyLeeMiller ‘discussing’ with TreeJoodice that her daughter is not a talented dancer… now THAT would be a show to watch!!

Back to Gia’s video…

This video could not have been released without the consent of Juicy and/or Tree.  The Joodices should have known that they would be putting their child at risk AGAIN for insults and nasty comments.  Obviously, the Joodices think that Gia has some REAL talent… they’ve jumped on board that fame train, pulling Gia along with them.   AND obviously, the Joodices have weighed the cost of that fame for their child.

If Teresa Giudice sees fit that her 10-year-old child has her own twitter account and permits the release of this video… knowing the negative attention it will draw… then obviously, Tree was prepared for the negative results!   If Tree is aware of the potential nasty comments… along with the positive… from this video and she doesn’t care….

WHY SHOULD ANYONE ELSE???

NOTE:  The video will not be available on SH.  If you have yet to see Gia’s video, you can see it via YouTube.   Interesting that one of the comments under the video on YouTube is this:  ”luv the outfits dnt let people tell you it was too inapropriate.”   More interesting is the fact that “TRUE” Entertainment has previously released Gia dancing with the rest of the dance troupe…. not as a featured dancer.

Please note:  This is NOT about Gia’s talent!  It is about putting yourself and/or your children on a “reality” show… and the expectation from those actions.

About Stoopid Housewives

The Real Housewives franchises have become a guilty pleasure for me and I've become intrigued by 'normal' people who would agree to put their lives on television for public display and scrutiny. What are their motives to divulge their daily routines for viewing audiences to approve, reprimand, berate, castigate, attack; basically abuse and judge? Oh, just forget about the above nonsense... the majority of these people are just stoo-pid.

  1. Prettea says:

Last time I watched the YouTube video any negative comments were being removed and there weren’t many. Doesn’t appear anyone attacking the child like they did Milania. TRUE is monitoring the site and POOF anything bad is gone. Tre has avoided scandal on this. I wish she would do something else soon so we have something else to talk about.

    • mamarj says:

Ms. SH brings up one very good point, others, including myself, have brought up other highly debatable points. I have a scenario to present. You have two entirely different rooms with two entirely different sets of people- one set good people, one set bad people. Your daughter along with her dance group, is going to perform for both audiences. The dance group is fully covered, no skin showing, they are wearing turtle necks, leggings to the ankle and dancing to a Sesame Street song. Would you still allow your daughter to perform for both sets of audiences even though one set was considered bad people who would make fun of your daughter or worse? All in the name of fame and to “maybe” advance their dance career at age 11? Basically, when you post on the web, that is the picture-there are good folks and bad folks on the web. When you allow your child to perform for everyone, you are taking them by the hand and putting them in front of bad people to perform. Is it really a good idea? Is it really “necessary” at such a young age, especially when “most” 11 year old children have not yet perfected their talent and skill-sets. True, there are exceptions but even then it is a question worth asking for any parent. Tre has answered this question already and chooses to take Gia by the hand and place her in front of both good and bad people on reality TV and has now taken it a step further to the world wide web. Now the audiences are magnified to the entire world of good and bad folks.

Bravo plays their part for sure but the parent has to authorize. We have never seen Sonya’s daughter. Most HW from “all the branches”; there is none to very small exposure of the little kids thru teens. The Goodices fully support their children’s exposure to all audiences across the WORLD, they have officially upped their game. Only in the future we will know the long term outcome of the Goodice’s decision. I wish the kids the best, always!

I have not read any comments by anyone, saying Gia should not dance, something she clearly enjoys and is a healthy sport.

  2. OCwoman says:

Looks like they might have pulled the video. When you go to the link for YouTube nothing comes up.

  3. pjbottoms says:

Sometimes I can’t figure Tre out: on one hand she could be like any other mom and post a video of her kid. (My kid is several videos because she is in the high school marching band). But Tre isn’t like every other mom because she has to have all kinds of permissions to post videos of her kids if there are other kids in them. What concerns me about Tre is that she is developing her “brand” and the Teresa Gudice Brand includes her kids. Tre’s PR machine is brilliant IMO because It feels to me like I actually know Tre and her family. The reality is I don’t know her at all! I’m not sure if Tre is selling a Gia Brand yet—–I haven’t seen a Gia Action Figure or lunchbox or Gia Booty Shorts. As long as she’s on reality tv, she should be well aware that people will be exercising their first amendment rights. She has control over what she puts out there in terms of minor children…if she doesn’t want feedback, keep them off camera. It’s no big deal…Jac did it this season, and Tamera hid her kids somewhere

    • lisa the Irish Dragon says:

sonja also dosnt allow her kid on the show. Personally I dont think any kids should be on the show and certainly shouldnt have a storyline until they can sign the contracts themselves.

      • pjbottoms says:

Hi Lisa. I wanted to thank you for sharing a little of your family history today. You are your Dad’s legacy:) Personally, I like seeing the kids on the show and I don’t think they have been exploited in the series itself. However, Andy Cohen did not edit this season of Jersey because of his book tour, and that might have something to do with the adults on the show acting like bratty kids.

        • lisa the Irish Dragon says:

I guess I should rephrase I think if they are shown they should be in the backround
Not have storylines or be part of a storyline

and Thanks about you kind comments about my dad I miss him

  4. C. Jayne says:

I am only making fun of the lady with the guns….

  5. Fan01 says:

I don’t understand why SH is getting so annoyed that the “readers” don’t agree with her on this. Not sure if you would post this as you didn’t post my earlier comment today about this subject. First, Bravo posted the pic of Milania not Teresa. Second, like I posted earlier I see nothing wrong with the posting of the dance video. Just two little kids dancing hip hop. So what??? Parents do this everyday. What about those who participate in sports or any other activity and post the video to YouTube. Do the parents exploit them too! Seems like a double standard to me since it is Teresa’s daughter.

    • originalcyn1 says:

      It wasn’t about the video.
The post was about how children on reality shows are affected and is it worth it.

    • lisa the Irish Dragon says:

I think MS SH point is its not weither or not Gia is a good dancer or weither or not the video was posted its more like If you put your child out there as Tre does and does with the video then she shouldnt complain (which she has the quote is in the story)
when Gia gets teased. Tre cannot control what people say its wrong to taunt and tease a child of course but she cant control every person the world and what they say the one thing she can control is Gia’s exposure. Ms SH and correct me if I am wrong dosnt really care if you agree with her but the point was exposure not if gia is talented or what she was wearing or if her moves were sexual.

      • originalcyn1 says:

You said it so much better than I did.
The point seems to have been lost because it questions Teresa and Joe parenting choices.

        • Bullie says:

Where is the accountability for adults allowing themselves or their children to make such vile comments? Victim blaming is never acceptable no matter how much you dislike the victim.

    • mamarj says:

I think there is a huge difference in a “group” performing or group sporting event or marching band than the video with Gia front and center so to speak with only one other girl. And to be honest, I don’t think it would have hit the nerve it did if Gia hasn’t already suffered at her school from the reality show. This also come right on the heels of Milana being attacked on Facebook last week (I apologize in advance if I spelled her name wrong). There are just too many cray crays out there :<( attacking innocent children. One has to ask when Tre, their mother, will step in and stop the exposure.

    • donewithbravo says:

And the BIG difference is that as a result of minors being on a “reality” show (featured, at that!), they are now getting death threats. I realize that this was all filmed a year ago, but I would have yanked my kids and family and pulled out of that show. Nothing’s worth that price of “fame”.

  6. sarajean14 says:

This is just my opinion…but I think people here discussed gia’s talent because the reference was made that tre needs to get gia to ” abby miller and quick…” As far as accepting negative comments….regardless of what your status is in the world (celeb or not) you don’t want your child to receive harsh criticism…but also you are proud of their accomplishments no matter how small…and like to “show off” how wonderful they are (or you think they are)….its not exploiting them nor do I think that was the intention of that video…when I have kids one day and I catch something silly they do on camera…I prob will want to share it…and that will just make me a proud parent :)

    • lisa the Irish Dragon says:

I think Youtube isnt the venue IMO the dance troup could post their videos on a web page and make people register with a valid email to view and them and no commenting permitted that may weed some of the cray cray away. Nothing is more important then a child’s safety and well being.

    • Housewife Hoe says:

I have posted videos on the internet of my kids b/c it’s easier to share the link and have the video hosted on youtube. I think the difference is that I am not a “celebrity” and so my kids most likely will not receive negative/hate comments from my family and friends (the only people who view my videos). Ms. SH is right that Tre had to approve this video and knew that it would receive thousands of views and many of them would be negative and hateful, not b/c Gia deserves it, just b/c they hate her mom, RHWONJ or are just plain jealous.

    • Antonella says:

Didn’t Justin Bieber get discovered thru a YouTube video. I am not implying that Gia’s dancing is what Justin Bieber is to singing but I still don’t see the harm.

When I was dancing, no matter how bad I or the kids in my recitals were, the parents always thought we were the bestest.

      • mamarj says:

Antonella, LOL, I thought about Justin Bieber today and all his publicity at a young age. He got big quick but I admit, he seems very grounded and seems to have continued to stay grounded into young adulthood. Taylor Swift also is another good example of a young lady with fame at a young age, although maybe not as young as Gia. One thing for sure, with all the comments, whether it is from the overly cautious folks or the less cautious folks, I think there is a lot of love for Gia on this site. Regardless on which side of the fence you sit, all is for Gia’s concern. I am not saying she needs concern, just that everyone wants the best for her. I think the Abby Lee comment was more it would be fun to see Abby and Tre go at it and that would be sort of fun to watch, LOL. It would also be interesting to hear Abby’s take on Gia’s talent as she is a tough lady but does produce good lil dancers :o ).

  7. Milania says:

Hi! Long time lurker, first time poster. I really wanted to weigh in on this. First offf, I get SH’s point loud and clear, if the parents let their kids on the show, they need to accept the negative. It comes with the territory and since Teresa still keeps the kids on the show and lets her have the Twitter and post the dance videos-she’s willing to do so. IMHO she should. The number of people who are downright nasty and cruel is such a small percentage and if the kids are happy with it and able to handle the bad with the good-then they should be allowed to stay. Gabriella is rarely seen because she hates the cameras and Tree is okay with this. You can’t let a few people spoil things and you need to have a thick skin. Besides, the nastiest and worst comments and the people that made them says a lot more about them thn it does about Teresa, Gia or any of the wives for that matter.

When I was a kid in the old days (the ’80′s) there was no reality TV per se and obviously no internet. But guess what? People were still the same. They just didn’t have a forum to share it with the world (anonomously). Our reality TV in suburba Philadelphia consisited of 2 things. The Al Alberts Showcase and Dancin’ on Air. (For thoise of you not from Philly, DOA became national and was called Dance Party USA in the early ’90′s so you may be familiar).

Al Alberts was basically a local talent show. There were all ages and all talents, but mostly kids. Sort of like that show on the Brady Bunch-when they were the Silver Platters. It ran every Sunday for 20 some years. I was on it a bunch of times as a kid with my dance classes. So were tons of other kid I knew. For a lot of us it was a thrill to be on TV. But, did we encounter nasty parents who said some of the kids “stunk” (at singing, dancing, piano etc)? YES. Did nasty parents call some kids ugly and fat? Yep. Was it hurtful? Sure… Did some kids get made fun of in school for being on Al Alberts? Always. But guess what? We survived into adulthood and the good memories far, far outweigh the bad. Obviously, “booty pops” weren’t around in the ’80′s, but there were semi suggestive costumes for the times occassioanly, especially with the older girls. And as far as “exploitation” goes….there were pervs in the ’80 and regardless of whether or not we were more chastethen Gia, a perv is still a perv. So, using that logic, every perv in Philly and the suburbs was tuned into Al Alberts every Sunday at 9am. And you know what? Not once did anyone ever consider that because we weren’t inundated with fear media evry single day of our lives.

Dancin on Air was even better! It was a teen show, just like Bandstand (which also originated in Philadelphia). The kids were mostly 15-18. I got to go on there a few times b/c one of my classmates brothers was a regular (I was not though). He was 2 years ahead of us. Trust me, there were some risque outfits and Lord Almighty, the hair, the hair. I can remember hearing from her and her brother about the horrible, horrible hate mail the regulars would get at the studio (in those days you needed a stamp to sperad the hate), along with the fan mail. From adults and kids. They were called disgraces, sluts, whores, their parents were called names. They were harassed in malls, at appearances and even the movies. Had stuff thrown at them. Some of the girls got really creepy letters…strange mn occassionally hung around the studio-prompting a cop to be there at all times. They’d do remotes at the shore and some of the girls wore only bikinis. Their parents allowed it. My friends brother got harrassed in school and so did a lot of the other regular. Even some of their own familes and teachers gave them a hard time. Her brosd BFF and ally in his class was a girl who was a teen model. She was always in Tenn, YM, Seventeen in prom isssues, bathing suits etc. The mean (read: jealous) girls used to cut out her pictures and paste them around school with mean comments. They bonded over the bullying.

Not one kid ever left the show because of it. They stayed because they loved it. Because it made them happy and because the times they made someone (like a sick kid) happy made up for it. I guess MY point is—it’s no different then whats happening to Gia. With one exception. The criticisms above were directed right at us kids–by other kids and adults. With Gia-it’s adults projecting their dislike of her mother onto her. I’m not sure what’s worse!

Lastly, as far as what will happen to poor Gia if she focuses on the fame and the dancing (b/c these Dancin on Air kids were local celebs, our “reality stars”-when it went national their profile was even higher). Well, the show required them to be in school and maintain a certain GPA (wonder if you could do that now???). Last year they did a 30th (yikes) anniversary of the show-(it started in ’82 I was around it in ’87-’88). and they a had a where are they now. Most of the regualrs I remebered are anything and everything from lawyers, accountants, business owners, SAHM’s, teachers. Some stayed in the performing arts. A few were lost to illness or accidents. Just like any other normal people-who happened to spend their formative years on TV.

Oh…..and one of those “regulars”….you might recognize her…her name is Kelly Ripa. :)

    • mzjulesaz says:

      Love your post!

    • Housewife Hoe says:

Wow, you just gave me flash backs. I watched Dance Party USA every day after school in the late 80′s. So now you have to tell me who your friends brother was. I remember Kelly too, her hair was really long, down to her waste and I remember the Princess girl who thought she was the female version of Prince. LOL You’re right, I bet they received a lot of hateful and jealous mail.

      • Milania says:

OMG Princess! With the hat-and the one eye covered! According to the where are they now she owns a yoga studio. IIRC. My friends brother was named Jason. He used to impersonate George Michael. His friend on the show was Bob-he always wore sunglasses. Do u remember that? He was cuter with the glasses on. I saw him without them! LOL. Yep, Kelly Ripa-the pride of South Jersey-got her start on a teen dance show! And guess what? They were never, ever paid a dime for any of it. Only their travel was paid for, when they did so. Can you imagine?

        • housewife hoe says:

Too bad they never got paid, the regulars WERE the show. I remember Bob the “glasses guy” had a really raspy voice. I sort-of remember Jason, was he really tall and his gf was also on the show? Some how I’m not shocked that Princess owns a yoga studio, glad to see she didn’t end of stripping for a living which is what my guess would have been. LOL. It’s amazing I remember this nonsense yet I can’t remember important things for work where it really matters.

  8. Tinkerbell says:

I like Teresa for only one reason. Everyone on this show has turned into a bully. I will always side with the “underdog”. (?) Last season … I thought Don C was cool. This season… She appears to be a very angry bully. I have to give Tre credit for hiring brilliant PR people .Good job Tre. I would love to know what Danielle has to say. Truth be told…I always thought that they ganged up on her. ( whacko that she was) tired of Jersey and I wish that Miss Cohen would retire. ( people actually take hi
Seriouly and he is a joke).

    • lisa the Irish Dragon says:

Sometimes I wonder if after all this could Dinyill and Tre bond now.lol

      • kel says:

Lisa, I thought the same. How crazy would it be if Danielle Staub and Tre decided that the Manzos and Jax were what came between them and formed a new friendship! Although I don’t see Tre apologizing for “prostitution whoooore!” lol

  9. soccer mom and lover of reality tv says:

Seriously, this seems to be a moot point now, but has anyone looked at the “dance videos” on the beloved Disney website..where 8 year olds are doing the exact same moves in the same outfits? It’s kind of like that psychiatrist said to Teresa, we all go into situations with a chip on our shoulder and we’re ready to pounce, which is what happens each time any of these reality stars or their offspring do anything…depending upon whom you identify with or which person can spin their side of the story the best..well, it’s a lot like our own lives, right?

  10. Milania Milania says:

For me, as far as kids and reality tv exposure goes, I think Teresa keeps it “light”. The dancing isn’t such a big deal to me. Even when Gia acted up a bit at the field day, she tried to comfort her-I think she keeps harsh discipline offscreen. I agree with that. I think what Jac did to Ashley was much worse. Ashley is no peach-but she was humiliated by her family over and over again. Which is why I think she acts the way she does. IMHO, 18 or not if her parents can keep her carless and homeless, they could have made her showless. Especially after the hairpull. If Jac could break her contract and not show up at the reunion-they could have forced Ashley to break hers. For her own good. Posting a little dance video and family pics for the fans isn’t as exploitive as what was done to Ashley. By her own mother no less.

    • Milania says:

Replying to myself to fix my name so the phone remembers it. Darn iPhone and it’s auto correct!

      • Milania says:

Got it! But my post went poof! Oh well…my fault! :)

        • Milania says:

It’s back! I’m sorry for the mess up-I did catch the name change then the phone went wacky! I’ll stop talking to myself now. LOL.

  11. Hate the Wench says:

This is a toughie for me. As a mother of a ten year old girl I can only share what I feel is right for ME. Sadly we are in a generation where social media is slowly taking over the world and no one knows whats right or wrong in parenting this day and age because all this is new to all of us. No learning from our parents/grandparents mistakes…Back in the day there was no youtube, twitter, etc…Anyways, I don’t upload videos of my girls at all. I don’t allow them to have a facebook, twitter or an email account…There are crazy people out there and I would never expose them. Once you put it on the internet, its no longer yours and people will do whatever they want with those images. There is nothing wrong with the dancing, Gia does an amazing job and I also videocam my girls at their recital. I just don’t think a child can have thick skin at such a young age. Negative feedback has to affect them and why expose our precious children to it? I loooooooooove Teresa, I admire her drive and I know she adores her girls and is proud as hell, but I have to disagree on this one. I don’t even agree with so much of the girls footage on the show…And yes, I know Gia can aspire to be a dancer…good for her! And I know she has this platform but I just don’t think she should be exposed. People can be so cruel and CRAZY (you never know, there can be an old man out there who wacks off to young little girls) just the thought of it disgusts me.

    • Milania says:

It’s funny but your right. It’s new to US but to our kids it’s a way of life. A lot of us adults are scared of social media etc b/c we see how other adults behave and are scared to death to let our kids on it! Especially Twitter. That place is an asylum. But the truth is, kids just want to talk to their friends. They know for the most part what and who to avoid and to make sure they do….we teach them. All of this concern for Gia is about not letting adults (who should know better ) attack her. It’s so sad! Maybe if the grown ups left the Internet to the kids it would be a nicer place! Lol. As for bullying by other kids, it sucks, but it happens. We should spend less time preventing it and more time teaching them to handle it. To handle criticism and how to navigate tough situations rather then avoid them. I do this with my kids, who are little and so does a small group of my friends. We call ourselves the Bad Mommy Club! We shun the PTO and allow moderate amounts of high fructose corn syrup. LOL. Bit, it goes without saying its all about what’s appropriate for each child. I often wonder what my grandchildrens world will be like….

      • Bhurst Girl says:

        ——————————————————————————————————————–
Oh boy you hit it right on the head… Wait til your little girl becomes a teen…the rules change again. They don’t even have to be what we consider “bad” kids…mine are not, good girls with what I thought was a great upbringing but sometimes it’s like shoveling dirt against the tide.

      • Entree-Manure says:

        You got it right Milania!
People seem to be justifying the video for their bad bahavior. It’s like a rapist blaming the victim – “Well she made me do it” or “She shouldn’t be wearing so much make up” or whatever BS reason criminals say that it was the victims fault for their crime or that somehow she deserved it.
It’s the same with Gia video – just because you don’t like her or her family or whatever reason you have to want to say something negative towards her, the video does not justify any of your actions. IT DOES NOT MAKE YOUR BAD BEHAVIOR “OKAY”, PEOPLE!!! People should stop, step back and get control of their emotions and act like a civilized adult and realize what it really is – young girls dancing to pop music. That is all. The video does not make Gia is not “fair-game” for people to get their kicks to attack and ridicule.

  12. LoveVegas says:

I was hesitant to comment when this thread first appeared due to the, I’ll say, intense, discussion. This topic appears to have hit a sensitive nerve with people and understandably so, thus I will make it brief:
I agree with Ms SH’s POV
No, I would never post a dance video of my kid (if I had one)
I watched the video and LOVED it (didn’t love the outfits or the lyrics of certain songs)
I’m glad my mom never videotaped any of my dance competitions or performances!

  13. Antonella says:

To Siri and your cracker jack box opinions, my Clown school degree taught me that you shouldn’t tell a child of 11 that she will not amount to much based upon the fact that she likes to dance or based upon who her parents are; my Clown school degree taught me not to take shots at children; my Clown school degree taught me not to keep telling people to “read what I say slower” (aside from the fact that you can’t read what someone SAYS), the repetitive comment is just a tad condescending; and finally my Clown school degree taught me that you need to report to the principal’s office STAT for being just a little bit NAUGHTY.

  14. DD says:

Gia has dancing and makeup vids on you tube. My granddaughter is a huge Gia fan and she didn’t even know about the show until I told her. There are tons and tons of kids on you tube (some doing awful things, as I’m sure you know) so Gia would be out there even without the show. I think she’s adorable and she’s encouraged my grandkid to enroll in dance to be like cool Gia. Which is way better than putting a Mentos in Coke to watch it explode, if you ask me. Everyone’s family is embarrassing at Gia’s age.

    • madepiley says:

That’s funny you should mention the mentos thing. My son and nephew have just recently discovered a lil thing called a “works bomb” and they have bee scouring the house for all manner of bottles to set these things off. Took one to my mommas house and we had to practically peel her off the porch ceiling after it went off.
Anyway, my point is, its sciency so for people who think Gia oughta be nose the grindstone in her books in lieu of dancing just know that those sciency kids get bored and take to the youtube sometimes too. Here is the video that got my kid interested in these works bombs.

  15. DD says:

Oh….my…..gawd. I’d hate getting that cleaner on my skin. Yeesh. Kids are poops.

  16. Yinzerella says:

I would pay good money to see Teresa butt heads with Abby Lee on “Dance Moms.” Your idea is absolutely brillz. Too bad LIfetime & Bravo aren’t owned by the same parent company :(

  17. mamarj says:

Uhm… your analogy makes no sense or maybe I have misunderstood. Surely you are not comparing a performance at the US OLYMPICS to two little girls dancing on the Boardwalk with a song that starts off with the word “erotica” and later in the song, “love me all night long”. Nothing honorable about the performance in the youtube video.

  18. pjbottoms says:

Mamarj…I do believe she was joking with that analogy.
