Jacques Azoulay, LuAnn de Lesseps…
The band featured on last night’s Real Housewives of New York, the Stumblebums, checked in with SH and had the following to say re their experience on the RHONY and with CountessLuAnn!
That band was awesome. LuAnn’s reaction was priceless. We’re called the Stumblebums and Jacques is a drinking buddy of ours back when we were living in Paris.
We definitely sang that song at Jacques’ party and she was there. I think we may have sang that song for them at Chez Josephine too. Jacques asked us not to sing that song but he laughed and gave us a very big wink wink… There’s always a lot more to the story then what you see edited on television.
I actually thought they did a good job editing and it’s exactly what they wanted. She was phenominally bitchy to the band and had our drinks taken away. We were working for practically free and she took our drinks away. Needless to say when they asked for one more song we gave it to her. Not all our songs are like that. Only for special occasions.
Well, not all of our songs are that nasty. If you knew how we were treated you’d probably want to grab a bullhorn and sing that song too!!!
NOTE: Aviva Drescher admitting to not knowing the words to “Jingle Bells” is worse than the Stumblebums song!!
I represented the restaurant (Le Cirque) and want to say that the band members were incredibly rude, drank way too much before they were supposed to go on and we had complaints from female staff members that they were propositioning them and being vile. All in all , they were vile and it was an unfortunate choice, but I wouldn’t believe one word they say.
Obvious the LuAnn/Jacques relationship is an act. Pretty obvious what Jacques really thinks of LuAnn to encourage that at her event.
LuAnn could not be more transparent. I have the feeling there’s going to be a throwdown between the ‘Countess’ and the Princess before the season is over. I’m betting on the PRINCESS to win.

I agree with you about their relationship being fake. Having another baby at her age? I seriously doubt it. And she’s not going to marry anyone unless she gets a better title that goes along with it. If she marries, then she loses the “right” to be called “Countess.” That’s just too big a part of who she thinks she is for her to give it up for “love.”
This is why I think her character wants to have a baby with jawks. Needs a way to tie him to her or…um.. have an “outward display of commitment” because a marriage is out of the question.
So stupid… what’s she going to do next; pull a rabbit out of her hat? She would have more success with that than trying to have a baby. She needs to get a job!

How old is LuAnn? I hear hear her say 40′s. Is it late 40′s? Is she older than Jacques? I think the whole baby thing is contrived to give her something to do on he show. Otherwise she’s got “nuthin” and really no reason to be on the show.
Has anyone else ever noticed how strained Jocks (mispell on purpose!) always looks uncomfortable and strained, almost like gritting his teeth, when he is kissing LuLu? I have noticed this from the very start. I really think the whole baby thing is rediculous and contrived! The part about the Tubal is very interesting…..hope we can get comfirmation!
As for the band…..there is a time and a place for everything. This was a fund raiser and IMO this band was not appropriate for a Fund Raising event. Since a fund raiser is to raise the most money possible for the cause, organizers must use caution as to not offend anyone. This band was definitely offensive! In regards to them “not being paid much”…..they must have agreed to this, perhaps to be seen on national TV, regardless, they agreed and have no right to complain afterwards. As for the drinks being taken away, perhaps organizers thought they were too intoxicated and stopped the alcohol? I was not impressed with how the band entered by pushing other guests out of their way…..Rude! Finally, as for singing that song…..if Jock indicated to go ahead a sing it, even though they had been asked not to by LuLu (it was her party, not Jocko’s) they should not have sung that song.

Unless the band were performing at a rave (do they even have those anymore?), that horrible “song” they were playing shouldn’t be in their repertoire. That song was vulgar and inappropriate. They said they hung out with Jack – does he do the spiky Mohawk hairdo, too?

Im not surprised either Peter. Who cares really how they were treated! They are grown and could of left. Two wrongs never make a right, guess the band members parents skipped that lesson. They had a shot to be heard on national TV and they chose singing that song tells me I would never want to hear another.

I gotta be honest…the whole scene made me laugh so hard my abs were a little sore the next day. It was like what my brother used to do when we were kids and he would sing along to Milli Vanilli songs and just insert random cuss words, cracked my best friend and me up! Plus I thought Ramona’s reaction was hilarious, esp. when MissAndy played it in slow-mo on WWHL.
I thought the band sucked they should of bleeped out all there words, the guy couldn’t sing to save his soul.
You’re right; the band did suck. I listened to more of their songs and was annoyed. I’d be pissed if they were the entertainment at a party I was attending. They didn’t handle themselves very professionally either. Le Cirque should have kicked them out on the street where they belong.

Actually Annie that is the perfect way to look at most of these HW… too ignorant to get mad at. I am sure a great lot of them cant help themselves and dont have the good sense God gave a goose.
