“HOW I MET CHRIS”
For those of you who have been asking about how Chris and I met, I will tell you the story. Chris and I met the summer of 1996 when Ashley was only five years old. At the time, I rented a chair in a salon doing hair as a licensed cosmetologist in Las Vegas, Nevada where I had moved with my ex-husband and my parents in 1990.
I also would work my salon schedule and appointments around certain weeks when I was modeling at conventions that frequently came to our town. It was good money that I needed and I enjoyed doing it. I don’t really like to call it modeling because it wasn’t as glamorous as print work and runway, but I had fun doing it anyway.
I modeled clothes, shoes, accessories, electronics, computer programs, just what ever came to town. I never took jobs out of town because I had to take care of a small child. One day my Dad, who was senior vice president of operations at the Riviera Hotel and Casino, told me that a coworker of his knew a guy that needed a model to work in his booth at a trade show in
Chicago. It was for the the NSGA (National Sporting Goods) trade show or something like that. I could never afford a vacation, so a trip to Chicago sounded like a pretty good deal to me and came at a time when I really felt like I needed to get away. My Dad’s coworker was a guy named Steve Shiripa.
You may know him by his character on The Sopranos. Steve is actually the guy that introduced me to a friend who hired me to do that job in Chicago. Meanwhile, Chris was a jobber in the wholesale apparel business and was building a new company. He was returning from vacation when he and his brothers decided last minute to go to the convention in Chicago. Chris was living in New Jersey at the time. Fate and destiny at work.
Chris and his brothers happened to come by our booth and his brother just happened to know one of the girls I was working with through her sister. Small world. Chris and I were introduced. I thought nothing of it, besides the fact that he was a handsome guy with pretty blue eyes and dimples who was very quiet and seemed shy, but sexy at the same time.
Chris and his brothers came back around later that day and invited us to a dinner they were having. I originally said no because I didn’t know them well enough, but the girl I was working with kept insisting that she knew them to be good guys. She told me that Chris wasn’t going to go unless I went. I found that strange and hard to believe because Chris and I hadn’t spoken much, but I was intrigued at the same time. I finally agreed to go to the dinner but only if we met them there. Chris and I sat across from each other and basically tuned everyone else out all night while we talked and laughed. We had an instant connection. I had a great time with him.
When I left, we exchanged numbers to keep in touch, never thinking it could go anywhere because of the distance between us. From that day on it was nonstop visiting and ridiculously long and frequent phone calls in which we really got to know each other and became the best of friends and fell in love. That went on for about five years. There was a year break between us after three years.
I really had no desire to move to New Jersey at the time and pull Ashley away from my family and friends and he couldn’t make the move to Nevada. We couldn’t move forward. I was so in love with him and I wasn’t dating other people, but I was scared to make the move. After our year apart, our failed attempts to get each other out of our minds and attempts of being with other people, we both realized we were just meant to be together and it wasn’t
worth fighting it anymore. We had missed being in each other’s lives so much. We knew we loved each other but I just didn’t know where he would fit in and where it could go.
We reconnected and then a year later he came to me and proposed to me right in front of Ashley. I had to make a decision right then and there. HELL YES! I decided to go for it. I knew if I didn’t that I might regret it the rest of me life. I knew that I loved Chris, he made me laugh, we both enjoyed a lot of the same interests, we had the same family values, and wanted similar things for our future. I felt safe with him and knew that he would always take care of me and Ashley, and he’d treat her like his own daughter. It was the best decision I ever made! We’ve been together since and we’re still going strong. I still see my Nevada friends and family often. It all worked out.(While dating Chris I also went on to work for Lancome and worked on-call for swing and graveyard shifts as a cocktail waitress for a local hotel and casino called Samstown. I also freelanced as a makeup artist, just in case you were wondering.) That’s the end of my long ass story and the beginning of a new one that you’re more familiar with … my life in New Jersey.
Okay, so…… now can she tell us the story about her punching Caroswine in the calfface?
I enjoyed reading this. It is a very sweet, romantic story. I truly hope that they pull through the mess with Signature Apparal and things work out for them.

That whole model story sounds fishy. Chris needs a model for sports wear in Chicago, so he hires someone from Las Vegas? A short, chunky model to boot. There are plenty of gorgeous and experienced models in Chicago, why import someone?
Looks like she omitted the part where she was supposed to say Chris was engaged or had girlfriend (Dina’s friend) at the time. Ms. Staub knows the backstory to that one
She also left out how she was knocked up when he proposed to her.
She did not leave that out because she got pregnant after she was engaged and moved to New Jersey. She tweeted about during Jaime Laurita”s wedding episode.
Yea, she was pregnant when she married Chris in what she has described as a ‘ white trash wedding”, must have been her theme, lol.. oh ok very classy..Oh well what do you expect the woman is not very mature..
I thought that Chris was dating or engaged to one of Dina’s friends when WackoJacko turned up pregnant and they had that rushed, ugly little wedding.

Why ask her( Jacqueline) to marry him in Vegas, and then bring her to Jersey if he was with someone eles?
IDK. It sounds like they were off and on. Maybe he brought her to NJ during one of their “on” times and then they broke up again and he got with someone else. Maybe he didn’t bring her to NJ at all, maybe she stalked him there from Las Vegas. I don’t know the real story, all I know is that I do not believe Jacko’s revisionist history of events at all.
Ashlee answered twitter questions and was asked about Chris. Ashlee said she didn’t remember very much about meeting him because she was so young. She did say that he was always there.

Is it weird that she refers to herself as a cosmetologist? Every person I have ever known that cuts and styles hair called themselves hairdressers or stylists. I know their license says cosmetologist, I have just never heard them refer to themselves as such. Hmmmm….maybe it is a regional thing.
The way Jacowhine signed that little missive is very childlike. I am surprised she didn’t dot her “i” with a heart.
She and Chris both look HUGE in that photograph. The more they promote that nasty water, the fatter and more bloated they all look. Her smile is totally fake. She keeps blogging and tweeting how great her life is, but she looks miserable. I would feel sorry for her if she was not such a vile, nasty woman.
I agree she can tweet about her wonderful life and imaginary projects all she wants but her physical appearance shows she’s a bloated miserable hag.

Barb: You only have to take the state boards if you fail to renew your license. Has nothing to do with being in business or taking classes. You simply have to pay the state their yearly fee. TFC!!! SH
Thanks for correcting that…I had my Insurance licenses and they renewed every 4 years and in those 4 years I had to take courses to get 35 credits to renew the license. I left insurance for a County position so I don’t know how many credits you need now. I will ask my stylist Friday if they need a certain amount of credits to renew their licenses. They just went to Maryland for some weekend courses.
I was going to say the same thing too. The size and style of the signature screams of someone who is trying to be noticed, but is immature, imo.
I really don’t wanna pick apart her love story, but does anyone else here feel like she tells people what they want to hear? “I couldn’t afford a vacation…”. It was my understanding she lived with her parents, who by all accounts, had some money. So the whole “poor little working single mamma” thing just doesn’t sit well in my belly. She had a bunch of small jobs and you just do not do that when you are alone taking care of a child. You have to know that money will be coming in every week! Kinda like she laying the groundwork for an excuse when her past finally catches up. And what about her ex husband, the innocent Matt Holmes? Why is she fiercely protective of him? Surely such a great guy paid child support, no? I think Matt knows exactly what Jac did in the past regarding employment and that is why she wants to keep him happy, declaring his insurance fraud innocence. The last thing she wants is a Matt and wife desperate for cash. Can you say tabloids, Jac?
It sounds like she was a lot like Ashley, only working odd jobs. If her Dad was a SVP at a casino, they had money. Daddy probably paid the bills and Mommy watched Ashley.
i read somewhere…who knows where…that her parents are actually the wealthiest of all the New Jersey cast / noncast members. Maybe even more money than Kim Granatel (sp?) .

As a side note, Jax mentions that Chris was a “jobber.” I find that funny becasue that is what Ramona does for a living. In the scenes in which she is working in her office bargaining with men over lots of plus size jeans etc, that is what she is doing, the work of a jobber. I can’t believe she makes such a big deal of her business acumen. She is really just a competent jobber. What she was doing in Sonja’s branding meeting with experienced marketing folks is beyond me.

It went on for about 5 years and there was a break for a year after 3 years…and all that time she was compiling research for her beauty book which I have been waiting for for about 5 years with a year long break after 3 years…..
I appreciate the fashion risks, however perhaps she needs to get away from the animal prints cause it’s not working on her bloated body and new Asian eyes.

I think (thankfully) she had her tubes tied (I believe I saw it on here). So unless they had some frozen eggs…no more jax babies!

My mother was alone in raising me, when I was 3 or 4 she got her nose done because of some horrific childhood accidents left it a huge mangled mess, she was struggling but had to do something to make her feel better about herself given all of the shite she was juggling…and she did have to live with her parents for a few years, never had any support from my sperm donor, and I would NEVER knock her for doing it…

Because she was young and pregnant and probably knew her first husband would skip out on her…which of course did in fact happen. Jacqueline’s father told the story and then Chris repeated it this season when he said Jacqueline threw her first husband crap out when he betrayed her.
Sorta telling that mommy and daddy move their ENTIRE lives around just to pick up the pieces of Jax self made hell.
And just to let you know I aint just tawkin out my ass on this subject. I married young and had baby young and if it went south then it was all on me AS IT SHOULD BE. Because my parents already raised their kids. Alls I am saying is the way they handled it says a lot about how much faith they have in their daughter to be able to handle her own messes.
Good point and good for you. It sounds like Jacqueline has admitted to being a screw up when she said she feared Ashlee was following in her footsteps. Also, Jacqueline’ s parents probably realized that AShlee’s real father Matt was not serious. He was only 19 yrs old according to Ashlee when she was born. Jacqueline said they were divorced when AShlee wasn’t even 2 yrs old…and it sounded like their problems started after ashlee was born.
But to pick up and move is just above and beyond.. I mean having an open door and arms and a soft place to land when fit hits the shan is one thing but to move with the kids is a bit much. Maybe they also knew she was not capable of taking care of a baby by herself so they HAD to hover a la Cindy Anthony.

If Chris was so wonderful, why did he have both a NJ and NV girlfriend at the same time? If he was SOO IN LUV WITH JAX, he would not have a NJ girlfriend who was his fiancee. Did Jax learn about Ms. NJ (through her daddy’s friend Steve) and decided to get pregnant to snag Chris? Just sayin that she might have been a little manipulative.

And all this is based on what Danielle Staub said about Chris being engaged? Dina never mentioned this and Dina and Jacqueline were close. Dina said that Season 1 in TH interviews and repeated it again at the Season 1 reunion.
Dina doesn’t air out the family’s dirty laundry and good for her. Just ‘cuz Dina ain’t spilling it, that doesn’t mean it ain’t true.
Dina has enough of her own nasty problems to deal. Her first marriage do not exactly end well and she ended up living her big sister Caroline’s house in a spare bedroom with her daughter. But hey why discuss that when we can knock down tersea’s ex = best friend so much more fun than boring Dina.
Well look at it this way Lori, the worst we could do to Jax is to quit talking about her. So at least there is that.

I also remember hearing Ashley say in one season that she looked at the Manzo children as cousins because when her and her mother moved to New Jersey that they lived or stayed at Caroline’s house too. How long, when they were dating, engaged, married was not revealed if I remember correctly. I do however remember Ashley saying they lived with Caroline at some point. So there’s more to the story…but always is. At least Dina was divorcing and moved in with her sister for a time, that makes a little more sense, but Jacqueline and her daughter and then there’s the fact she got pregnant and they got married quickly, but had been together for 5 years and Ashley says she doesn’t remember him at age 5 to 10 years old. That’s strange.
Dina is a class act next to Jacs. She for one, would never air out an exfriends secrets on twitter. Or blogs insanely long and ridiculous full of hate for that matter. Besides, this blog entry is about Jacs, not Dina, Lolag. Oh and before you start with the whole “Tommy cheats on Dina” crap, please let us know how exactly you know? Because of twitter? Dina was always my favorite. She seemed to have a really normal relationship with her daughter. And she seemed to be the only one who was the voice of reason. I really miss her on the show, but she got out while the gettin’ was good, IMHO.
Dina is beautiful and HAPPY. Caroline and Jac’s jealousy have turned them sour and ugly. Happiness shows on your physical appearance. Which is why I know T is in a better place than bloated Jacs
Completely agree. Despite Dina having serious issues with Caroline (and I think Jac too, but that’s not asked about as much), she doesn’t bash her in public forums. She admits to having a disagreement when questioned, but doesn’t make nasty or mean comments about her. Dina easily could, but doesn’t. Compare that to the behavior of other HWs, like Jacqueline with her twitter rants.
And even if Tommy’s cheating on Dina–which there’s absolutely no proof he currently is–that doesn’t make Dina look bad. That makes Tommy look bad. Why would we blame the victim?
Maybe if Tre is pushed far enough come reunion time she can bring it up… that is if Jax dont get skird and call her right quick to do a CYA make up kumbaya-fest.

Well, Ashlee seems very happy with her family these days. Some kids need to learn the hard way. Seems a bit harsh to judge a situation that played out on a reality show. Ashlee was still treating her parents like crap and freaking out on twitter about her parents not doing stuff for her while in California.

Since Jax never had to learn the hard way (even to this day mommy is taking up her part and this was just the twitter stuff Lord only knows what sorta mopping up she does for Jax on a constant basis) Pawning the grown kid off on granny aint gonna teach her jack… but it do get her outa Jax hair which was the goal. Sadly this mentality is very common. How many babyboomers do you know that are also taking care of their grandkids as well as prolly looking after an elderly parent? IT happens WAY too often. Its not fair. Its too much. And people are just selfish.
Thats the way you judge Teresa’s life…based on the show, and you say the same thing day after day: that she posts pictures on twitter to deflect whats on the show. The show was filmed a year ago and she’s happy and successful now. The fact that she posts pictures proving it always bothers you. On the other hand Jacs is bloated, bitter and jealousy has made her ugly. She’s posted on twitter for months that she is in a good place and has amazing projects we have yet to see. Exactly and Teresa’s always done it. She’s not doing it to “deflect” anything. She is actually really the one in a “good place” after a year and has had “real” projects and success to back it up. She looks truly happy. Not miserable bloated fake a smile with cartoon lips happy, but authentically happy.

OMG, It’s funny on a certain site that a certain poster is on all the time that posts on here under another name( lol). She and several others are always saying that Teresa posts pictures of her kids/ family etc to deflect something or another..lmao! In the mean time Teresa has lways posted these types of pictures , btw so has Jacqueline, Caroline, now Kathy and Melissa.. But I guess Teresa has some sort of plan / or something or another to ‘ prove ‘ that she is happy…lmao, so ridiculous!!!

Right Made. It is the same reason she got so mad that Tre talked to Danielle, and why she told Tre to drop it and forgive Mego…she wanted Tre to stop talking to Danielle. I think dirty grrrl Danielle knows all about dirty grrrl Jax. And the producers know all the dirty, so they know how to push buttons.
Love nj, I think BubbaJax always has an agenda, and that agenda is her self preservation. Chris was initially her ticket to freedom away from her parents and a comfie lifestyle. Once Ashlee got older (in true form as we have seen her do with her friendships on the show) she started to resent that her spotlight (with Chris) started to fade in favor of Ashlee. Ashlee turned to Chris as a parent and Chris was very generous, emotionally and financially. BubbaJax made the situation so tense that she finally persuaded Chris that Ashlee had to leave. Ashlee called it the way it was when she said her mother loves drama. All the issues that Ashlee seemed to have were either a direct result of her mother or magnified by her mother.
As far as Dina, I don’t know why her first marriage is relevant to some, however, she seems to have made the right decision in leaving and it appears that BubbaJax takes jabs at her on twitter and other locals when she can.
As far as this story as told by Cray Cray, swiss cheese has less holes.

I took the mention of “Steve Shiripa” as shameless name dropping. I guess we are supposed to be impressed. There is really no point in mentioning him. Note to Jax: if you are going to impress us by dropping the name of a C-list actor, at least spell his name correctly. It’s Schirripa, dumbass!

Actually Steve Shiripa was on the film casino as a bar patron when Joe Pesci stabbed that guy with a pen. He started to get the acting bug but took a few years. At that time he was working as a security/bodyguard for big spenders in Vegas. I’ve always wondered why couldn’t her father who was senior VP of a casino get her a job. I think (after seeing her earlier pics of her partying) she loved to party and didn’t want to work. Her mom watched the kid and the family kept telling her stop and get a job. Was she an escort? My gut tells me she was. Also as one commenter said, she may have stalked Chris to NJ, lets think about this. This guy was already in charge along with his family members of signature apparel and it was going strong. He had to talk a big game and acted rich, and she wasn’s sure? No way, she probably continued to bug him and when he started to pull away from her she wouldn’t allow it and either got pregnant on purpose from him or said she was pregnant.

Hmmm..(in my head)..she met him. Was not one bit interested because he’s ugly and looks like he’s always constipated. Her girl friend assured her he was rich, so she flirted with him. She managed to suck his brains out well enough, so that he kept coming back once in awhile. She called that going steady when he was in town. Single when he was out of town. Did everything she could to get him to marry her, (had several other rich guys on the line he didn’t know about) and finally decided the best way was to get pregnant. Fambily is everyting. Ruined her stripper figure, but, is a kept woman. Hates him and he makes her sick, but, she’s getting old and plastic so, she has no prospects. Keeps having babies to keep him writing the checks, even if they bounce a bit. Not her problem. She has a charge account at the liquor store and a doctor who prescribes goodies. Life is good.
Wasn’t there a blind item that one of the RHONJ where also getting “pharmaceuticals” from a producer of the show. Also she probably going nuts because Chris is losing his money and they may soon be living in a condo working for his sister and brother in law at the brownstone.
Someone needs to tell them that because according to Google map they are bleeding money into office space overhead alone.

It was kinda creepy thae camera angle of him lurking around the corner. Producers prolly said “you gatta hear this, come stand here so we can get footage of your reaction while you listen” Its not so much what the HW’s think would be normal behavior but it does say a lot about the demented minds of the producers. My grand daughters ages 12 & 13 LOVE him. They have been to 5 concerts. I went once and couldn’t believe all the young people in the audience. He does have many costume changes and is quite entertaining. No lap dances at this venue thank god!
