means to an end. Bottom line is she doesn’t feel worthy of a healthy body so she is treating hers like a human garbage disposal at the moment. I know of what I speak. This is how she punishes herself. The fact that she is aware enough to feel bad about what she has done(selling out to Don’s whims), even if its only when she is left alone with her thoughts, means there is still hope for her. There is still a conscience in there somewhere. I really would like to see her grow a pair and take her life back before her life takes her.
Your on to something, she believed Chris’s whole big man rich thing and had a ffew kids with him. Now she is looking at not only losing the house and possibly everything in it and out of it. But also having to live in a condo and having Chris work at the Brownstone as a server and her as a waitress. As I said before and I will again. She was a escorting on the side and hooked up with Chris and whatever she did hooked him to her (Jax comes off as little miss innocent, I bet she’s real dirty). And so he was flying her out to the east and to other places and when she got pregnant (which is the angst with Chucky and partly with Dina who Chris was engaged to her best friend and co-worker) he had a quick wedding not formal.
I agree, over-eating or drinking too much are compensations for other things. An epiphany such as you are describing would be an amazing development for RHNJ. Too bad it will never happen, it would be instructive.

I find Dina to be quite interesting. Long before joining RHNJ she was a successful designer and she has continued to grow her design business, even landing her own successful Party Design show on HGTV.
When Dina was on RHNJ, I always enjoyed her layed back ways, her relationship with her daughter and the exploration of her sprirituality. I also appreciate that she walked away from RHNJ when it no longer worked with her “Real Life.” Dina is truly refreshing these days when “Bashing” seems to be the order of the day for so many.
I like Dina, I really do. Dina was an event planner at the Brownstone hardly a successful designer. She also choose to be spiritual and when to be in bitch mode when it suited her. Think back to Danielle. Many sources have reported that Dina did not leave the show of her own accord. Her ex wouldn’t let her daughter be filmed and her husband refused to be. It left her with no storyline. There is also the rumor that she forged her ex’s signature to have Lexi on the show and how it put Bravo in a unwanted legal position. The reason she didn’t speak to any of the housewives is because they didn’t back her up and threaten to leave the show if she wasn’t asked to return. Dina is no better or worse than any of the other housewives. Personally I think her craft store decorating is over rated and I’m surprised it her show was renewed. That like everything else is JMO.
This rumor is totally true, totally. Bravo was ticked off because they where essentially facing a very serious legal problem. So they got rid of her (they could have worked with the no kid being filmed).
Totally agree Originalcyn1. Very, very well said. It bothers the heck out of me that uneducated Dina Manzo has the audacity to bill herself as a designer. I spent many years after college in design school and it was not easy. I would love to see Dina the Designer draft a room plan. Give me a break!!! She is nothing but a wannabee. She is also very dumb.
Prez, I totally understand what you are saying. My daughter is a Designer with a four year degree and had to work 3 years after graduation as an apprentice designer. But, sadly today nearly everyone can call themselves a designer. I know better and I apologize for using this title with Dina. What I was meant is that Dina did work with her brother who is a decorator/designer. Even on HGTV many that are labled as “Designers” do not actually have the education.
I do not personally care for Dina’s esthetic.
But, I might also add that Teresa is NOT an Author. She did not write her cookbooks. They were written by a ghost writer. Yet, people applaud Tre for being a NYT Best Selling Author! This infuriates me!
Teresa does not have a ghost writer…why are people still talking about this. She has a co-author and it states it right on the book. And yes, there is a difference. People still saying she had a ghost writer infuriates me.
Co-author is just another word for ghost writer. Listen, Teresa cannot even speak coherently, let alone, write, that is obvious!
In the literary world there is a difference between a co author and a ghost writer. Unless you are a fly on the wall in Tree’s life, your opinion is that Tree doesn’t contribute to her books and your opinion is that she cannot speak coherently, but the truth of the matter is she has best selling books and she speaks not one but two languages.
Listen to Teresa speak and you know she did not write her books she couldn’t fake that one if she tried. There is a big difference between authoring and contributing to a book.

Fame doesn’t mean you have to be totally nasty. Although it does seem like a current requirement to be on Bravo. Dina certainly wasn’t always angelic when she was still on the show but at least she seems to be making an effort to be a decent human being. I would hope it is because she realized the negative repercussions a show like this can have on “real life”. But at this it wouldn’t bother me too much if she just wants to look like the good guy. Sad these shows have gotten so dark and nasty that doing the right thing for the wrong reasons might be the best I can hope for from these women.

OMG, glad to read someone else thinks the same way! On season one at times she seemed she could be very high maintenance! There was an air about her I could never pin????
I thought she was cool when she forgave Danielle, but I found her to be totally uninteresting. I didn’t like her “I’m too cool” attitude regarding Danielle. I’m not claiming I love Danielle. Her attitude and story was always contrived, IMO. Dina’s attitude towards Danielle was uncalled for just because Danielle really wanted to be friends.
I haven’t bothered to watch Dina’s new show. Top Chef is what I watch when I want to see high end parties.
Dina is always classy and also those friendships that are not that *deep* are the ones that worked for me…all of my close friends have been so for over 10 plus years..to this day none of them know my financial status and would never ask..and vice versa!! Even if it was splashed all over the media they would not ask me. Jacqueline should forever be ashamed that she allowed Caroline and Bravo to ruin her friendship with Teresa! Seems to me that Dina and Teresa have many friends and then they have time for each other…like I spent the weekend with my bestest friend and on Tuesday she is going to breakfast with another friend and I will be visiting a back in the day friend this week also. Honestly, I think that Dina could be waiting to *read between the lines* like the rest of us to see what Teresa supposedly did to Caroline or Jacqueline that was so BAD she should not be friends. So far..NOTHING!!! Also, think this why all the *blogs* have tuned down now..because there was NOTHING!!! The ONLY reason Caroline and Jacqueline are mad at Teresa is because Bravo told them too. They sold out, and Teresa moved on! Caroline does not care because she has no friends any way..she hangs with her kids. Jacqueline is just pretending to have friends but really has no one but her hubby now..who Creepy McCreeperton that he is..may not be her friend at all!!! Hmmmmmz..time will tell!!!

I also used to think the fight was “ordered” by Bravo, but that hate and anger that you could see in Don’s at the reunion looked too real. I don’t think she was acting.
I am not a fan of Jacqueline’s but I think you are missing a lot of what her problem with Tre was about. We all saw T tell Caroline and Jac that she had 2 more covers on her “contract” with the tabloids and that she gave interviews as well. I understand Tre does not control the content of the article but she shows no concern about what is printed about her friends. She doesn’t clarify of explain her true feelings but expects everyone to ignore the content yet she renewed her vows to show the validity of her marriage. Yet when asked about her “contract” directly she denied saying she had one.
I don’t think Tre”s finances was Jac’s main concern. Tre is fond of saying “put yourself in my shoes” i have yet to see her do the same. Tre has stated what a good friend Jac has been to her but I have never seen Tre express concern For Jac except the one time she apologized for not being there about Ashley. I don’t think it is about money but more about being respectful of others feelings and it not always being about Tre.
But the only thing printed about her friends were quotes that came straight out of their mouths… so ifn concern was to be had it should have been had before they said what they said on tv.

I like Dina, I didn’t expect much in the form of answers from her. She won’t bash her family, but I appreciate that she didn’t turn on Teresa either. She knows exactly what she is doing. She comes out to save Teresa when it suits Dina to do so. Nothing wrong with that. I wish Ms Andy would have asked if she thought Chuckie’s comments about Teresa’s marriage were appropriate.
Now you know that MissAndy SHOULD have asked that question but he doesn’t have it in him to ask the hard questions or ask appropriate follow up questions. He is fluff, no meat on da bone as a talk show host.
Dina is so different then her sister Caroline.. in every way…IMO Dina got all the good genes in that family

For openers, he could have asked about that “whirlwind of stupid” video of Caroline Manzo flipping the bird and and saying FU. He should have played the video behind them while asking what Dina thought of it.

My guess would be cuz Dina isn’t on the show, Teresa is.
Mandy’s po’d at T because her husband has made (negative) gay comments — like Ricky La Douche hasn’t.
And because he got manhandled like a rag doll by her at the season 2 reunion.
I watched the show and you could see on Dina’s face she was up tight. I think she answered the questions perfectly, didn’t say much at all about anything Mandy asked her. I do remember her saying what happened between her and Caroline was weird. The reason she didn’t go to the wedding was because she was in the Hamptons and filming a block party. That I didn’t understand. I thought the two animals wedding on NY’s Eve was cute…Andy did ask more of Pauly than he did of Dina. I don’t know, to me the show really didn’t make sense. JMO
I think Dina meant that she and Teresa are “girlfriends” in the old-fashioned sense of the word. For example, I might tell my sister my big problems, but my friends are mostlly to have a good-time with.
Watching my mother as I grew up, I noticed that she had a strong sense of privacy. She would confide in one or two trusted family members, but she had lunch with, and went to the theater or concerts, with her girlfriends who had similar interests to her’s. My mother did her friends favors, picking up kids, taking in mail, going along on a visit to the doctor (without prying of course), but she kept her personal business to herself. If one of her friend’s husbands cheated on her, my mother offered a shoulder to cry on, but didn’t gossip about what she learned. She taught both my sister and me to be this way, and it has served me well to have a “private voice” in the immediate family, and a “public voice” for more universal consumption. Good for Dina and Teresa for recognizing this. Teresa’s problem is that her family and the press are in on her deepest sorrows. But I have to say that I admire Teresa for largely refusing to discuss these matters with her nosier family members and the viewing public.

Why is this show popular? I always watch clips of it on here and it’s really boring. Andy is not a great host and he’s not at all funny. His Handler/Falon dream will hopefully always stay just that..
The real Dina was captured in footage of that reality wedding TV show she filmed about 7 or 8 years ago for VH1. I watched the whole episode on You Tube recently, and it shows her in a horrible light. The real Dina was greedy, selfish, whiny, and unabashed gold-digger, and an unbearably self-centered princess — and I’m being very kind in this assessment. That’s why she acts so guarded and low-key now. She’s trying to live down the disgusting way she acted while filming her dream wedding TV show to Tommy Manzo.
Dina mentioned that her 7th anniversary was coming up.
I didn’t see the wedding show, but accept your assessment of it. If this is the case, good for Dina to learn from her mistakes. Not everyone can or does.
I agree it’s good to try to improve yourself. But IMHO, Dina’s the same girl but just “repackaged” in a slightly more marketable and appealing way. She still comes off as haughty and full of herself.
It’s also revealing how Caroline attacked Teresa for the very qualities that Dina possesses in spades. I still remember how during the first season of RHNJ, Dina went shopping for a new “dream home” for herself with Caroline, and now we see Dina in magazines with her giant shoe closet. And Dina’s marriage has been shady for years — certainly no better than Teresa’s. These ladies are very jealous of Teresa’s success. They wanted to be the “breakout” star of RHNJ, so they’re bitter and nasty. Again, JMO, but I can’t stand the self-righteous Manzos/Lauritas. They’re bullies and have strength in their numbers (from big families).

I didn’t think Dina was horrible at all. She was dealing with a fiance who refused to focus on the wedding and literally invited the entire county to attend. It was true, he was copying the invitation and faxing it to anyone who had ever had any contact with him or the Brownstone. Not only did he invite vendors, but he would fax the invite to let’s say the garbage disposal company office and ask how many wanted to come, it became a circus!! I would have been worse than Dina if my fiance made a joke of my wedding.

He did, still does. I don’t think it’s just money, I honestly think she loves him. I don’t think anyone can force Tommy Manzo to do anything he doesn’t want to do. He’s a good guy, I just wouldn’t want to be his wife.
I have heard lots of good stories about Him. It just seemed so not interested in her or the wedding.
