It has been almost a year since “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” cast member Taylor Armstrong’s husband committed suicide. Armstrong says the year has been filled with pain, but now she is ready to move on and help others who have experienced domestic violence. And she might even start dating again. “Statistically, my life could have ended in a murder suicide. I feel my life was spared and I want to use it for the greater good,” Taylor says. “I didn’t get here by choice — I got here by circumstance. I’m doing much better. It’s almost been a year since my husband took his life; it was bumping for a span. I have gone through stages of grieving. You do go through them. I still have tough days and get sad. Sometimes, I wake up and think, did this happen?” NOTE: Unreal…
“My little girl is doing great,” she continued. “I want to be healthy, mentally and physically, for her. I’m not dating, I am actually feeling like it’s time for me to get back out there and find happiness. I want my little girl to see what a healthy relationship looks like. My story is so public, there is no mystery about me. All any man needs to do is read my book. It’s going to be a problem dating. Dating for me is going to be a strange experience, but at same time there will be no surprises for anyone that signs on.” NOTE: OH! Shana is dating for her daughter!
Taylor was recently named the national spokeswoman for the oldest and largest domestic violence organization in the U.S., the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, and plans to take her story about finding a healthy relationship to the high seas with a Mexican Riviera cruise.
“It seems to be the trend. Everyone from Kid Rock to Paula Deen is doing a cruise, so I figured I got to get involved. It’s going to be all about health, empowerment and relationships. My therapist, Dr. Sofi, who is on the show, has agreed to come on the cruise, and he’s going to do some workshops of healthy relationships,” Taylor says. “I’m going to get some other people to come along. I would love to have some of the housewives come along and invite experts from the world of health and fitness. I’m good with the girls; we have all been through so much together. I want Kyle [Richards] and Lisa [Vanderpump] with me, cause we would have so much fun.” NOTE: Shana’s cruisin’ cause “everyone’s doing it”… PUH-LEEZE!!!

That always bothered me when she referred to Kennedy as “my little girl” instead of by her name. Very disconnected.
Also, the only reason she is asking the other housewives along is because she probably knows that nobody would want to go on her stinkin’ cruise. She is using them to get people to pay up and go on the cruise. More $ for her. I doubt that very much of it actually gets to the charities.
I couldn’t watch most of Season two because of this nasty vile disgusting blah blah blah…I would not be able to sleep soundly after witnessing all of her total BS.

I think Kyle is naive and believes everything Taylor says because Taylor is a master manipulator and Kyle is the kind of person who feels the need to defend the “victims.” As for Lisa, I think she’s in the same boat as Kyle.
I really don’t know how to express that I will never ever ever believe that Taylor was abused by Russell, without sounding like an insensitive jerk.

It escapes me that ANY organization wouldn’t see right through her, I can’t believe that there wasn’t enough doubt for the proper administrators to pass on signing her up for this speaking thing she did over the weekend and now a CRUISE!

From what was shown, what Russell’s atty said, his relative’s comments and inference—they each liked to drink heavily and each were violent to each other.

He quit drinking, she didn’t before his death. Not a pretty picture.

That’s the truth, Lisa. I waited for more than 5 years. I still thank my lucky stars that I met my amazing current husband when I did b/c I was certainly a wreck for the better part of the 5 years after I bolted from the abuser I was first married to.

I cannot believe all the attention and goodies this grifter continues to receive despite the fact that so many people are convinced she is a complete fraud. What the heck?!!! Can you imagine how much she’ll be drinking on a cruise ship? I can just imagine her sliding up and down Kyle and Lisa with her drunken, sloppy, slithering affection. And, that huge maw of hers will be opened so wide, she could have an upper G.I. study w/o a scope!
Anyone who has watched her on Seasons 1 & 2 already know what happens to her w/ her huge consumption of alcohol. Apparently there will be at least 5 bad booze meltdowns/confrontations in the upcoming season (which I refuse to watch) when she’s a drunken mess: 1.) Portia’s “birthday” party (celebrated at least a month after Portia turned 4); 2.) The Ojai Spa weekend; 3.) Las Vegas weekend; 4.) Lisa’s Tea Party; 5.) Kyle’s Annual White Party.

I think Shana’s bull hooey understandably disturbs people who have lived under the crushing oppression of dv, because we know how penetrating the damage is for victims of it. To watch her prance, preen, strut, guffaw, complain, lie, and worst of all, pontificate from behind a podium as the keynote speaker for the Annual NCADV conference is a slam against every true victim of domestic abuse: dead and alive.
I am glad you got out of your horrible situation, Lisa, and I agree with you that it’s better to leave all the material things behind than to risk an extra second with an abuser. I did the same thing, and can’t tell you how many “friends” and family members thought I was crazy to let him have all of it. Incredibly, I had the presence of mind to tell them this: “I’ll make more money. I don’t need those things. What good is any of it if I’m dead? Make no mistake: I would have been dead if I’d stayed with him.” If they didn’t understand me after hearing that, they were out of my life, just like he was.
There have been quite a few people on this site who have opened up about their own horrific stories, and I’m grateful to each one of you brave individuals for posting your comments.

Ain’t that the truth. I was violently beaten and crippled for life, 16 yrs. ago. I never went out with ANYONE ever again. For one thing, I am “damaged goods” and for another, what I experienced, in addition to going to court, surgeries, stalked/harassed by abuser’s off & on girlfriend, shame of being involved with such a low-life, etc. It just never seemed worth the risk.
I am so sorry to hear that Debra. This world is still a good place regardless of what he put you thru. Get out there and fly. You deserve happiness.

How come the press release about you becoming the “national spokesperson” doesn’t mention your local org–you know, the one where you and ASSPamDana were rummaging through the Christmas donations last year??
BTW, the NCADV says it is expecting “hundreds” to join her on the cruise! There is at least a $200.00 per person premium for those joining her on the cruise–where’s that extra money going??
This just keeps getting worse by the moment w/ the NCADV. Most people who are victims of DV have limited resources when they leave abusive households. That’s a fact!!! Money for a cruise? What the ^&*#!!!!!!! How much of a “take” is Shana gonna get, NCADV officials????!!!

I posted something under an earlier comment of yours, Lisa. You went through a lot, but you extricated yourself from that awful situation. I don’t know how many people may read these comments on the SH site who are presently in their own private hell of a terrible relationship, suffering from physical, verbal, and emotional abuse. I truly believe that when someone like you or BritishBev writes about what you went through and how you escaped it, it can provide some much-needed emotional sustenance for someone who is trapped in the nasty spiderweb of abuse. When I was in the middle of it, I felt so desolate. I didn’t want people to know what I was going through because I felt such shame and unworthiness. I fantasized that my ex husband would have a fatal car accident on his way home from work, but then I beat myself up with guilt for thinking such a horrible thing. The mental anguish is hard to articulate, and it’s been over 34 yrs. for me. But, there is a way to get out, and I’m glad you found that, too, Lisa.
There IS a way to get out, and that’s the absolute truth.
How many of you know a woman who has been battered and beat down by their abuser that can even afford the luxury of a cruise? So you are going to expect the average woman who probably has children in tow, who are living in a shelter or just trying to get back on their feet to jump on an cruise trip? Christ, what planet does she and the organizers of this debacle live on?
Kate Gosselin just had to cancel her “celebrity” cruise because of poor ticket sales. One can only hope this will happen here as well.

Well put, mrsmic. One does get the feeling that Shana is playing both sides of the fence here, but then again she is a master liar and manipulater. On the one hand, she wants to play the down trodden victim, without her own “voice”. Next minute she wants to show others her “Fabulous Beverly Hills Lifestyle”. The only similarity being in that both of these stories are False! We KNOW that Shanna is as much the ABUSER and the abused, if she ever was abused. We also know that she never did fit in to the Beverly Hills Lifestyle. She never had the money to keep up with the others, she did not have the background or the connections to this lifestyle, she is always and will always be a “Wanna Be”, deparate, drunk and acting out!

Why would Kyle or Lisa lower themselves to do this? Neither of these ladies are desparate for money or attention. Shana is not “volunteering” to help battered women. She is being paid for appearances, for speaking and gaining a platform for selling her “book”. This is NOT a good will mission. I think that there should be a thorough “Audit” of the NCADV to see where their donations are going. This is a Non-Profit, but clearly, Shana is making a Profit!
Lisa and Kyle ARE desperate for either money and/or attention or they wouldn’t be doing this show. If they aren’t doing the show for either money or attention why else would they be doing it?

That voice is so unbelievably grating! When she said the word “rumor” early in the interview my Golden Retriever looked at the computer, flattened back his ears and walked out of the room. I feel guilty for subjecting him to that ear splitting sound but at least he didn’t howl like he does at the sound of fire engines. But it could happen – he’s never heard her screaming at people when falling down drunk. Taylor has been pulling a long con on Bravo.

I am extremely concerned for the Abused Women that are not familiar with the “Real Shana”, who buy into her lies and tales and look up to her and who decide to tune in to the next season of RHOBH and see the Real Shana in action. We know what that will be, a drunken hot mess, screaming, crying and attacking, both physicaly and verbally, anyone who she thinks might be getting in her way. They will see Shana, wildly spending money, even though she has none! They will see her treating Kennedy like costume jewelry and the list of vile behavior goes on and on. I cannot even bear to think of the harm this will do to women who are in a fragile state of mind due to year of having been abused. When a person becomes a “Spokesperson”, they are responsible for being a role model and to set an example. According to Shana, she is “Living the Life”, she has healed and is “moving on”. Yet her behavior shows a very sick and twisted woman, interested in only herself and achieving fame and fortune. This is tragic! She is causing and will continue to cause harm as long as she has people enabling her to continue.
