It’s nice to see how these people sugar coat things.
All of these people have been living far beyond their means for a very long time! They drain their businesses to create the “facade of success”. I do not feel sorry for any of them. Last night we saw a very stressed out, sad, Chris Laurita talking about BLK being his “Only Hope”. We could almost feel sorry for him, but, like all the rest of us, he needs to get real, tighten his belt, downsize his lifestyle and learn to say NO to his wife! The Days of Wine and Roses are over!
I thought is head was going to explode he looked so stressed. That’s a real motley crew he has working for him.
And why exactly was BGG there?

I think BGG, the cousin and the childhood friend are all investors in the blk deal. At one point I think it was either Chris or Albie that mentioned that they all dipped into their savings and invested in the whole thing.

As for BLK, even if it sees some serious distribution, I cannot see it supporting Any let alone all of the people involved!
I agree. We see Jax talk a lot of smack about Tre, but we haven’t seen Jax do anything to help her family’s financial situation. Oh wait. She’s a Real Housewife of New Jersey. Maybe they need that paycheck more than we realized . . . so if what she had to do was bring the drama to keep her spot on the show, I guess she gave it her best shot.

Our family just had a close relative go thru this with her husband. He lived beyond their means and eventually landed in bankruptcy court years later. She grew tired of his $$$$ lies and packed up the kids. The signs were all there much like the Lauritas above. We didn’t talk about it, but eventually the cat is outta the bag. I’d feel sorry for them if it was just life, but no one needs a 7,000+ square foot home to get by.

He’s freaking out because the one cash cow that he and his immediate family had Signature Apparel isn’t there anymore and he can’t find another big business that could take off and they can loot like the did with Signature. When things where good he was wining and dining all the women and flying all over the place. Then he met Jax as a call girl who was able to rock his world (she loved to party after seeing some of her pics) and he talked a big game around her. Then she thought this guy was something big and got knocked up by him (while chris was engaged to Dina’s friend, can you imagine your brother cheating on your girlfriend who is his fiance I bet that was painful).
He promised Jax everything and did give her everything. Now he’s seeing things coming to an end and all his scamming isn’t working anymore. He looks freaked out because he sees the Grim Reaper of finance down the street from his house. Also in regard to the lawsuit from Signature, there attorney had to tell the judge that his clients essentially lied to him about a few issues (for now, we now more is coming) and had to put that in writing. And thats another thing, Chris knows that they have the goods on him and eventually someone in that bunch of family is going to cut a deal and try to stay out of jail and just pay back what they took and say so and so was the mastermind and this is what all the others did to hide money and assets and such.

I do not know anything about this case other than what I’ve read here at SH and I don’t know whether this bankruptcy was voluntarily filed by the company not, but I thought I would throw this out there.
When a company is not paying its debts when they become due, creditors can under certain circumstances “force” a company into an involuntary bankruptcy. This was the first thing that came to my mind when I heard Jacqueline use the word “forced” in connection with the bankruptcy, but she is not an attorney and may have used the word more casually.
According to a website focused on bankruptcy, “Involuntary bankruptcy is most often used when unsecured creditors suspect fraud on the part of a company, such as when a Ponzi scheme is discovered, or for some other extraordinary reason. Otherwise, creditors will typically pursue collection of their own claims directly, including through litigation in state or federal court. That might end up “forcing” the company into bankruptcy, but technically it would be a bankruptcy of the voluntary kind.”
Yes, it was an involuntary bankruptcy. Signature stopped paying its vendors. And when the company’s books were reviewed by the trustee, a related adversary proceeding was filed against the Laurita Defendants. The Laurita Defendants are Joseph Laurita, director, Christopher Laurita, director, Adeline Laurita (wife of Joseph), Jacqueline Laurita (wife of Christopher), Anthony Laurita (brother of Joseph and Christopher), and Frankie Laurita (son of Joseph and now deceased).
The adversary proceeding states the Laurita Defendants used over $7 million of the company’s funds for their own personal use – vacations, cars (Ashlee’s SUVs), credit cards, etc. It’s called a “bleed out.”
The bankruptcy trustee’s responsibility is to protect the bankruptcy estate and to get the legitimate creditors of the company paid (even though it may not be 100% but something). The personal assets of the Laurita Defendants will have to be sold and the proceeds paid to the bankruptcy estate to enable the legitimate creditors to be paid something.
The Lauritas committed bankruptcy fraud – a federal crime. If prosecuted, prison time and fines.
Wow! The Lauritas have much more than empty pockets to deal with! They are in very deep Legal Trouble! I wonder who is controling the finances of BLK?

Is it just me or did others read the line in Caroline’s blog, ” That all the money from BLK is going back into the business.” Since the Federal Suit against the Laurita’s is that they diverted all incoming monies to their business for personal use I think that is a VERY telling line. Not that I plan to buy water that looks like dirt. Believe me if the Brownstone Sauce was SOOOOOO great an investor would have helped them bottle it years ago. Their bankruptcy is much worse than the Giudices. The real estate market bombed and the Guidices’ holdings lost value and they were unable to make their loan payments. Tre’s total credit cards were not that bad – it’s the real estate holdings that doomed them. They did not correctly represent their assets and income (Tre’s book advance) – so that’s trouble.
Love, the Guidices also diverted business funds to personal. They were even stupid enough to show this on camera! Remember, Tre pulling out wads of cash to pay for her furniture? The Giudices were definitely affected by the Real Estate crash, but this was only the straw that broke the camels back.
Joe was not smart enough to incorporate his business. Kinda like a sole proprietor. The stupidity saved him.
I’m sure Jax and Chuckie will eventually say that Teresa was somehow responsible for forcing them into Bktcy
I can actually picture it. Teresa followed her attorney’s advice – don’t talk about your case. That’s standard advice an attorney gives a client. Jax has made a monumental mistake talking about the Signature Apparel banrkruptcy. It’s gone viral and has affected the Lauritas Defendants reputations.

So Jax said “survival mode,,,everyone’s always looking for ways to make money because you never know what’s going to happen”…..survival mode eh? Maybe kind of like how Tre has done photos for tabloids for $$ because she is in survival mode?? How about Jax’s family does what normal people do? Get a job! Oh wait that won’t work because it won’t help her keep up with her lifestyle! If she got off her butt and actually worked it would bring in an income to help Chris and perhaps keep them out of “survival mode”.
ALL of these people need a Suze Orman smack down! All of them, including Tre and Juicy. Tre hustles and works hard, but let’s remember people she and Juicy were spending money left and and right as shown in the first two seasons. Money they obviously didn’t have. Remember all the
clothes shopping Tre did for herself and the girls? Remember, Teresa walking through the new
house under construction pointing out all of the lux items she had Juicy putting in like the bannister, the mable, and making him change things after they were already installed? The trip to the furniture store? The extravagant birthday parties and gifts for the girls? The boob job? That Italian cruise from hell? They are ALL in a financial quagmire of their own making. So ALL of them need to work their asses off!!
maybe she can come do a Private seminar for the housewives on the show so many of them seem to be in trouble money wise.
I do think Bravo paid for the birthday party and the Italy cruise. Yes, Teresa was over spending behind the scenes, but I think she was asked to exaggerate on the show and I am sure she loved doing it because she looked like a rich women able to throw money around. You think they wanted to film her saying, “hold on I think I have a coupons fo that.” or “IT’s HOW MUCH? Oh no, I have to put that back on the shelf!” A lot of stuff was done for show. She was over spending on clothes for her girls and herself. She went overboard on the house, thinking they could afford it. I am sure she had no idea that she would be in $11 million debt. Filing for bankruptcy is pretty embarrassing, especially after you are showing off all the money you have. Teresa F*&ked up royally and is paying the price in many ways.
Also remember when she went furniture shopping and also clothes shopping with the girls? Bravo cameras make sure they linger on the cash register total read-out. But we know that she didn’t end up paying no where near the amount displayed.

I do believe she knew they were in trouble(maybe not as much as they were) I know when i dont pay my credit card bill or pay my rent I get a phone call with all the Mortgages and credit cards they had you want me to believe not one phone call was made to The Guidice residence? not one letter in the mail? Not one mention to Teresa when she went to the small boutiques she shopped in that they wanted their money she owned? Really?
The show was getting publicity. Hell no she paid for that stuff. Even Teresa’s clothes she wore were free. All she had to do is plug where she bought them!
You know what I’ve been wondering? Since Tre is earning the money now, will she be spending it as freely as the money she thought she’d never have to pay back (other people’s money)?
I hope she is more responsible this time. I think when she was spending before the filing she had no idea the market was going to tank. She was probably spending more then he made, but there was money to send in the minium payment. The bulk of the money owned is the business end.

By the way the woman Pam hosting the party is good friends with Dina and was in the Atlantic City episode in season 1, when Teresa was trying on bathing suits with her flat as a board chest. I think when the Manzoid Boys are on the road trying to hock this black crap (really who would drink black stinky water) they spend more money eating and drinking than they make off the little sales not to mention when they fly. I swear for being cons they have no business common sense at all.
