July 9, 2012 12:30 pm NOTE: Each RHONJ Housewife will get their own post this week for their review of last night’s episode…
Hi, everyone, I hope you had a terrific Fourth of July. We were lucky enough to see the Macy’s Firework Spectacular from the Hudson River. It was fantastic.
There are those special summer moments that trigger some of my favorite childhood memories. A special time when things were so simple — all you needed was an ice cream cone and someone special to catch lightning bugs and play red light green light with.
Birthday parties also bring me back to those days. Seeing Antonia’s excitement when everyone started to arrive was a thrill. Um hello, birthday parties sure have changed since I was a kid.
Which brings me to Teresa and Joey. Even though they were both on the same page that therapy wasn’t really for them, I’m so happy that they did actually get something out of their session. They both agreed that they needed to start making new, happy memories. Bring on the cotton candy, popcorn, and cake. Yay! Oh and let’s not forget the gigantic caterpillar. All great things to distract you from any awkward moments.
I know Jacqueline felt a little strange coming to the party and seeing Teresa again, and I really felt for her and know how she felt. I’m glad Jacqueline came even though she was hurting inside. She was really trying to be cordial, how else will we all survive our Napa trip?
Speaking of parties, how cute was Greg when everyone surprised him for his birthday? Rich and I were so bummed that we couldn’t be there, but at least I was there in spirit (or should I say image?). Did everyone catch my face on the suit of armor in Albie, Chris, and Greg’s apartment? Those guys are hysterical; you never know what they’re going to come up with next. I love that they gave me a new hairdo too! I guess Kim Zolciak isn’t the only girl wearing wigs these days. LOL! Great times, great laughs, and happy memories. NOTE: Where does Kathy get her sense of humor? The over-ripe man triplets crammed into Hoboken are hardly “hysterical”…
This week we also got a chance to see our friends and family follow their dreams and find out what it takes to make those dreams come true. It’s a pleasure to see everyone’s ambitions and the hard work that goes into making those dreams their reality. NOTE: ”Ambitions” ”Hard Work”??? How about “Andy says product placement is great, if it’s a part of the show!!” Where does “ambitious” and “hard word” come into play when all the Manzoids are required to do is put in a call to their producer friends, who then get the OK from MissAndy?
Congratulations to Lauren! Cafface has become everyone’s go-to spot for their beauty needs, and it’s absolutely gorgeous. Just wait and see the end result. How can you go wrong with a business partner like Caroline? There’s nothing like having your own mother as a partner to always keep your best interest at heart. NOTE: A business “partner” with 51% controlling interest… who names a cosmetics retail store “Cafface”? No wonder DonCaro has no businesses of her own!
Dancing, singing, and performing on stage sure are difficult. You really have to want it badly. Melissa is getting some expert training from Cris Judd. (Can you imagine the questions Richie had for him when they met?) As an adult, it must have been so hard to focus with a family and other responsibilities to worry about. NOTE: Richie??? Why would Richie have questions for JLo’s ex?
I also loved watching Gia bounce around and learn her routine. I can’t wait for you all to see how incredible they both were at Beatstock!
The ORIGINAL promotional video from Beatstock when Beatstock took place last year… there’s no Gia and there sure ain’t no Missy!
We had the best seats in the house.
Rosie and the chick she picked up the night before… “WOW! This is great getting’ paid to be this moron’s pretend girlfriend! I think we’re a match! See, I wanted to be a neuroscientist, but couldn’t spell it, so I decided to like girls! We’re both morons! Great salmon! Oh, that was spaghetti?”
So in the spirit of new beginnings, I hope you enjoyed our family dinner as much as I enjoyed preparing it. Yes, I was a little nervous.
I just wanted everything to go smoothly for Rosie and Brianne. I can always count on Richie to keep the cocktails and the jokes flowing. I have to admit though, he does go a little overboard sometimes. Richie’s motto has always been “go big or go home.”
That’s what I love about him, and you always know what he’s thinking. He always reminds me not to take things so seriously. Since Rosie and I met Brianne together, I thought a family dinner was a great way for Rosie to get to know her better. What’s better than making new friends, letting your hair down, and enjoying a great meal together in your own home? Note to Kathy: Nice try to smooth things over for your very offensive husband. Your husband is disgusting.
Here’s to new beginnings, new friendships, and new happy memories! Go out and make it happen. NOTE: OR… just do what Kathy did to “make it happen”…have a close relative who appears on a “reality” show and jump on that train!
P.S. I received so many tweets about the clothes and accessories I wore in this episode, so here’s where to find them. NOTE: No one cares, Kathy!!
