SONJA MORGAN: Reveals “It’s The Edits!”… Explains “Pinot-Filled Azz”… Changed To HAT!

It’s one of the finer points of the RHONYshowdown between Ramona Singer and “Countess” Luann de Lesseps—Luann making a reference to Ramona’s “pinot-filled ass.”

Or did she?  Later views of the clip have her spouting a much more countess-appropriate barb: “Your pinot-filled hat!”

Sonja Morgan weighed in when asked about the show’s editing during Tuesday’s cooking demonstration at NYC’s Macy’s Herald Square store.

“The show’s not scripted, but they get you with the edits,” Sonja told customers. “Did you see the time when Luann said ‘Your pinot-filled hat?The first time, it said, ‘Your Pinot-filled ass!’  And she was so mad, [saying] ‘I don’t talk like that!’  But the first time they cut it, it said ‘ass.’”

“They have full license to edit,” Sonja explained, pointing out that the edits weren’t always fair.

Sonja also had insight to add about the RHONY filming process and why some cast members (ahem… ahem… Ramona) might not react too well to feeling “excluded.”

“[The producers] call us, and we say, this week, we have this, this and this—then they choose what they want to film,” she explained. “Basically, it’s who has the most interesting thing to film and who you’re inviting… who’s included.”

“That’s how you get on the show, getting invited to things… so if you don’t get invited on a trip, you start to get a little nervous.”

Sonja’s comments help viewers understand more of the recent Ramona-Heather rift and Ramona’s overly intense reaction to being left out of Heather’s London trip. If part of being a successful cast member (one who doesn’t get fired) is being invited to events, then getting left out of a major trip—and all of the camera time that the trip implies—would send even the most normal of reality stars into a conniption. Now, given that this is Ramona, can anyone be surprised at how bad she took the diss?

About Stoopid Housewives

The Real Housewives franchises have become a guilty pleasure for me and I've become intrigued by 'normal' people who would agree to put their lives on television for public display and scrutiny. What are their motives to divulge their daily routines for viewing audiences to approve, reprimand, berate, castigate, attack; basically abuse and judge? Oh, just forget about the above nonsense... the majority of these people are just stoo-pid.

  1. donewithbravo says:

Can’t they film Ramona doing something interesting back in NY while the rest of them are in England? What’s the biggie?

  2. madamedummy says:

ramona is an insane bug-eyed lunatic who also happens to be a ‘malignant’ narcissist..
    she should be caged ..
heather sure got her number ! cool

  3. Tallulah says:

Apparently Ramona believed in the myth of the pecking order Sonya “splained” to Cindy last season. Heather’s indifference enrages Ramona more than anything-b/c Heather doesn’t need a thing from her and Ramona has no leverage. At all.

  4. I don’t know but it looks like Ramona ends up going….aren’t they in London when they jump in the pool?? I don’t really see any previews without her in it……. I thought the whole thing was just producer induced drama

  5. Maxine says:

I think Heather just did it on purpose for drama and to make her spot on the show known. Heather didn’t even want Aviva to go – she was happy when Aviva said she ‘couldn’t’ (something about not having to share bedrooms now). It was all for drama. Heather has probably been watching since season 1 and had an opinion about Ramona and the first chance she got she tried to put her in her place. Ramona is a ‘staple’ on the NY show it will take more than not getting invited to an overnight London trip to get her off. Can’t wait to see what happens later in the season….

  6. Maxine says:

Gee, Heather….errr Gina from London – you sure have a lot of built up anger. It’s just a TV show…LOL.
Yes, as I stated above I still believe that Heather didn’t invite Ramona just because she wants to prove a point. If she would have invited everyone there would be no drama and she would be going along with the crowd. Heather did it so she could stand out and get some camera time early on.
Also, yes, Ramona IS a staple of the RHONY – she’s been on the show since season 1 in ’08. If she’s out next season, she’s out – but for now – she’s on and she is.

  7. Mrs. Hackett says:

I agree with gina from london… I dnt think heather cares about ramona.. she does most of her camera time talking about her son an his struggles he has faced… I like heather b’c she didnt come on being a a** kisser like aviva in my opinion…

  8. Lisbeth says:

I am excited that someone on RHNY finally has the intestinal fortitude to put Ramona in her place. Ramona has lost what little was left of her alcohol soaked brain! I’m firmly on Team Heather on this one. NEVER would I invite Ramona to go anywhere with me. She’s a heathen, an embarrassment, she’s crude and rude and a DRUNK! Who the hell wants to be with a moron like Ramona? I’d avoid her like the plague.

I hope Ramona is gone with the wind next season. She absolutely drives me crazy each time I have to see her buggy crazed eyes and hear her annoying voice, it’s like nails on a chalkboard to me.

Ramona thinks she IS RHNY but guess what?? Nobody is irreplacable. Ask Jill, Alex and Kelly.

    • CJ says:

Lisbeth, I have the same reaction to Ramoaner -couldn’t stand being in the same room with her for very long, certainly not a trip.

  9. Mrs. Hackett says:

I think there would have been more drama on the trip if she would have invited ramona… so not inviting her actually cut the drama in half…

  10. The Duchess of Duke Street says:

Ramona is everything the commentors are saying and I don’t think I personally could take too much of Ramona but here is the thing, I personally would have tore Ramona a new arse hole if she carried on the way she does in my presence and I think that is the problem, noone really stands up to Ramona she rides rough shod over everyone.
Heather IMO is a passive aggressive coward and straight A bitch. Rather than just tell Ramona ”
I don’t care for you and do not want you on my trip” she goes all around the houses with her explanations, she had the perfect opportunity to be straight with Ramona when they sat down for that talk, Heather talks in circles.
I am on the fence as far as Aviva I can not decide if she is a straight up stirrer and arse kisser or genuinely means well.
Luann is rediculous and maybe should consider a surrogate she has to be menopausal, I am aware you babies can be conceived during menopause I just think she is delusional. Also she does not stay home for the two she has never mind a baby.
So far I really like Carole, she is smart and funny and a PRINCESS!! LOL poor LULU.

  11. mamarj says:

I feel the need to stick up for Ramona. While it is true, Ramona’s mouth often gets her into trouble, I have always found her to be quite entertaining. I don’t much care for Heather, she is hyper sensitive, whining around town about Ramona telling her she talked too much. Heather gave it right back to Ramona during that first conversation. I would be willing to bet money, Heather just didn’t want to share the lime light with Ramona on the London trip. Both ladies, do adore their camera time. All these housewife ladies have their own unique personalities :D

    • Antonella says:

I agree with Sonja. There is a pecking order and Heather is a newbee. She needs to respect crazy Ramona. Heather knew that Ramona was nuts before she signed up for the show, it’s not like it was a surprise. So she needs to be on the show more than 5 minutes before she starts causing a constitutional crisis by refusing to want turtle time in London.

      • Lisbeth says:

Antonella, love you and I respect your opinion but have to disagree that Heather should automatically have respect for Ramona.

In the scene when Mario and Ramona were so horribly rude to Heather, talking down to her and criticizing her, I was completely appalled. Who does that? Nobody I know. Heather came back swinging and I think I would have too.

Mario and Ramona are extremely rude, arrogant people with no social graces, social boundaries or manners whatsoever. Why should Heather tolerate that just because Ramona has been on the show longer?

I’m a forgiving person but if one of my friends spoke down to me like they did to Heather, I would feel no loyalty to them and wouldn’t have respect for them. I sure wouldn’t want to go on a trip with them either. But that’s just me.

  12. Antonella says:

Can I be Countless LuAnn for the day. I mean if we’re going to be peeps, I want to play dahling

  13. Nina says:

Aren’t there three trips planned this season? So I’m sure we’ll get plenty of turtle time.

  14. Mrs. Hackett says:

Antonella, I dnt agree… Heather is her own woman and regardless if she just joined or not that doesnt mean she should have to put up with crazy Ramona or trutle time… In my Opinion

    • Antonella says:

But here’s the thing Mrs. H, Heather joined a show knowing she would have to film with these ladies; she knows Ramona is one of these ladies; Heather claims she doesn’t do drama, in fact the new three have repeatedly stated that they are not going to diss each other; SO what does “no drama no nonsense” Heather do? She decides not to invite the crazy Ramona (who will without a doubt overreact to the diss). I don’t care how many times Heather claims this is her business. “Her business” is also being a cast member for RHONY WITH cray cray Ramona. I declare this was SET UP FOR DRAMA with Heather being in the lead.

  15. Tum Pluckered says:

i think ramona was at first upset about being left out of the trip the same way anyone would feel if they were excluded. kinda pissy. but she went totally ’round the bend when she found out sonya and luann were going- pulling out all the stops- (staring a fight with sonya at her party- meeting again and again w/ heather to cajole an invite, trying to get to heather using aviva as messenger etc) and i think that’s because ramona DID threaten to blackmail luann about her son’s party, but she wanted to, of course, keep that dirty deed from the cameras. luann spilled it to the other ladies on camera- but ramona denied it and decided to not bring it up again. that’s not like ramona (if ramona really did nothing wrong, she would’ve driven to expose luann as a liar) luann mentioned that it was very difficult to pry sonya away from ramona lately for any get togethers (on camera) and i think ramona is really afraid that luann will bring up the blackmail/threat and maybe try to get sonja to admit that she knows what ramona did/said about the threat. sorry that was so lengthy- sometimes my two cents is a full nickel.

    • Lisbeth says:

Tum I totally agree with you. Ramona is out of control this season imo. She’s been so rude to the other women and seems to think she’s the queen of New York. She’s a mean, viscious woman who is so self-centered she has no empathy for anyone else. She’s pathetic imo.

      • Tum Pluckered says:

i don’t disagree with anything you’ve said Lisbeth! she can be infuriating and caustic, and like you said, mean and TRULY vicious! but i have to admit, i do love watching her on tv. it’s probably because she is (mostly) so oblivious about how she comes off! that’s so funny to me! of course, if i actually had to deal with her in “real life”, it would be a completely different story, right?

  16. Mrs. Hackett says:

Understand your point Antonella… Heather knows you have to bring some type of drama to the show to stay on but I believe she really don’t like Ramona and I don’t blame her… Me personally would have been put Ramona in her place… All of them seem scared of her, why I don’t know! So agree with you Lisbeth!!!!
