REAL HOUSEWIVES OF ORANGE COUNTY RECAP: Season Seven, Episode Twenty… “Are You In or Out?”… Finale
RECAP…by Sandi Duffy
This week we pick up right back at “Cakegate.”
While Heather may have overreacted, Sarah is a drunken nutcase AND an uninvited guest.
The Gretchen/Tamra friendship just seems so manufactured and phony–what with their gift-giving and all. Gretechen gives Tamra a really ugly charm bracelet and Tamra fake cries because she is so “touched.” Tamra is one of those girls who can only have one friend at a time. It used to be Vicki, who stuck with her through her bad marriage to controlling Simon and now she’s throwing Vicki under the bus to be BFFs with Gretchen, whom she was so awful to in past seasons.
Sarah doesn’t know when to stop and tracks down Heather to talk more about “Cakegate”. Sarah is a drunken mess and UNINVITED. Heather gathers the troops to kick her out of her party. She really does need to leave, but Heather doesn’t need 12 people to kick her out. Slade is shockingly the voice of reason, explaining to Alexis like she’s a 2-year-old that it doesn’t matter who said what–if Terry and Heather want her out, then she needs to leave. Slade actually escorts her out of the party with some other woman I’ve never seen before, and Alexis, who came to the party with her and was so quick to stick up for her, stays. I’M SO CONFUSED!
With Sarah’s exit, “Cakegate” is finally over.
Now to the crazy that is Vicki. Vicki pulls her son-in-law, Ryan, aside and apologizes to him for what she said about him when her and Briana were fighting about Brooks. Vicki says she is scared he is going to take Briana away from him. I love this guy. He tells Vicki that if Briana doesn’t talk to her, that’s on her, not him. Then he tells Vicki she can grill him all she wants, he’s an open book, which is his subtle way of saying Brooks is not open to scrutiny. If he weren’t already married to Briana, I would marry him.
Jim, the Chin shows up late to the party, much to everyone, including Alexis’ surprise. I still can’t believe Alexis stayed when Sarah got kicked out. Terry has the best comment with, “Jim Bellino grew a pair and showed up.”
Vicki is all bent that Tamra and Gretchen are all lovey dovey. These women are so shallow and immature. They can only have one friend at a time and they get jealous when their BFF is friends with someone else.
Deleted scene… Vicki Takes A Tumble…
Terry asks Jim if they are ok and Jim says they’ll talk next week. Alexis tells Jim it’s awkward now and they should talk now. Jim is a condescending douche and asks Alexis if she is wearing the pants now. Everyone is horrified for Alexis and if Terry was out of line for calling Alexis phony, Jim just lost any allies he may have had by speaking that way to his wife.
In all fairness to Terry 1.) Alexis IS phony; 2.) he made a comment that was not meant for her ears, at least not until she saw it this season on television; 3.) he said it off the cuff; and 4.) he never said Alexis is the phoniest person he ever met. He just finished Heather’s sentence for her by adding the word “phony.” When Heather enters the conversation, Jim gets up and leaves the party, leaving his wife behind. Jim loses more points for leaving his wife behind. Alexis chases after him as he is driving away in his car and leaves with him.
The “gang” all discuss what just transpired, while Eddie looks really, really uncomfortable. Points for Eddie for finally realizing how ridiculous this group is.
Vicki toasts Alexis for unknown reasons; Tamra rolls her eyes; and Brooks rudely asks Tamra if she wants to go there. Brooks accuses her of giving Vicki the “evil eye”. This is a button-pusher for Tamra and yet a third fight ensues at this party. Why would anyone have a party and invite any of these lunatics? Terry is just relieved he’s not involved in this one.
Vicki starts screaming like a lunatic at Tamra. Vicki screams way too much it makes her sound like a crazy woman…well I guess if the shoe fits. Brooks is so transparent and creepy and gross, I can’t believe any woman would be fighting over him. And I have to say that if I had never seen a single episode of this show before and didn’t know that Slade is a ne’er do well, deadbeat dad, I would be thinking that he is the most normal one on this show. He comes across really well in this episode, and this episode alone.
Tamra follows Vicki and Brooks as they are leaving. Vicki continues to scream like a lunatic.
Tamra talks to Briana about Vicki and Brooks and she picked the right ally there. Briana hates this guy, and rightfully so. Briana points out that Brooks has no house, no car, no job. Briana feels vindicated that Tamra has the same concerns about Brooks that she does. Hey Briana, we all all have the same concerns about Brooks.
Deleted scene… Brooks talks with Ryan about Briana…
Vicki asks Ryan to take Briana out of the party because she doesn’t want Tamra brainwashing her daughter. I think Vicki has it wrong. Brooks is brainwashing Vicki. He must be hung like a horse because I can’t figure out any other reason women fall for this guy’s bullshit.
Heather runs out and asks them to stay for her special celebration.
Briana comes out and asks for Vicki’s side of the story. Briana is on Tamra’s side and points out that everyone has a problem with Brooks and she always chooses him over her friends and her family. Briana is so not on her mother’s side and while Briana tries to talk to her, Brooks tries to get Vicki away. Vicki says she trusts Brooks because he’s never given her a reason not to. Hahahahahahahahahahaha!
Heather gives a little speech about changing her name and her cake looks really tiny. How the hell is it going to feed all those people? And then Vicki gives a speech about how much she loves Brooks. WTH?! Vicki, this isn’t an “I love creepy Brooks” party. No one want to hear from you, and the majority of the guests have no idea what you are talking about. Vicki always has to make it about her.
I’d also like to add that I don’t recall Vicki’s skin ever look so bad until she started dating Brooks. Is it really worth it Vicki? This loser is costing you your daughter, you friends and your looks. What man is worth that?
Heather passes out glasses of champagne to each of the ladies with diamonds in it. Only one has a real diamond and Tamra gets it. That’s just stupid.
The season ends with Eddie asking Ryan to be his best man. Considering Simon treated Ryan like crap, I’m glad Eddie has a good relationship with him.

LMAO over Sandy’s commentary. no need to watch the episode…although i will have to see it to believe that Slade comes off as better then pond scum in this episode. As for Brooks’ appeal….you would have had to have been a lonely, demeaned housewife to understand the effect a series of superficial compliments can have on you–even when coming from a swarthy mid-western dead beat. Although I may be able to identify with the feeling, i am sure i wouldn’t be able to kick my children and financial future to the curve to feed my own damaged ego. Don’t know if you caught this or not, but on WWHL she commented that Ramona called her and told her what a good job she was doing. She is clearly earning extra cash for being a trouble maker/meanie weenie! Surely Ramona worked the same deal. Ramona can’t be that bat crap crazy and be so successful. My guess is the crazy clause in the contracts equals crazy amounts of cash. Hmmm, wonder what they would give me to act like an idiot? I might be willing! LOL

There were a bunch of bravo invites. For instance Jeanna. Why was Briana’s friend who works for Vicki there? Where was Michael. Of all the gay folks that bravo has tries to shove down viewers throats, the one that I found interesting, Fernanda was no where all season. I thought maybe she would pop up. I guess the fact that she had a personality and other things going on besides just being gay and didn’t want dwell on it made her not gay enough for bravo.
Michael was shown sitting at a table for a hot second! Almost missed it!
When Slade becomes the voice of reason, this show is D-U-N! I want to hit Tamra in the face with a pie everytime she fake cries….the last one (her one-on one) was really pathetic…I did crack up when they showed the real size of the cake & Sarah’s parting comment! Bahahaha! Pour that girl into a limo & take her drunk a$$ home!

Reports say Briana married him a month after divorce, and didn’t vicki say to briana when they were arguing that she was involved with Ryan when he was still married?.Plus his ex wife commented on a site claiming they were still sexing. Last but not least also hearing he is a deadbeat dad aswell…

I was really appalled by that. If that happened to me and my friend hypothetically gave me the evil eye my husband might rell me the next day if he really thought she was being snotty to me. If I did act that way(which I pray to God I wouldn’t) this very first shrill scream would have him dragging me out and putting me in a car. Big staged party, nobody was there except the Wives and a few fillers. All for the cameras. All staged. All of their behavior is set up by the producers. Why would Sarah be there? That cake storyline was a joke. For such a fancy party the cake was awful anyway, I don’t believe Sarah ate it because the cameras would have been all over her. Just now watching the whole ep… Gretchen was trying to call Vicki out about her and Tamra friendship And Tamra did ROLL her eyes at vicki but Vicki wasn’t paying attention and Crooksy called her out Tamra doesn’t like to be called out on her shit she just wants to be the one calling ppl out… Don’t blame Jim for leaving, but her was rude for what he said to Alexis… It’s sad Yall friendships ended for Fame and money…
Well I for one am happy that Vicki Moose is done buttin in and makin it all about her for the season. Just as Heather finishes her lovely speach about her name change, the moose busts thru the crowd (aka her audience) to lecture everyone on how she is once again threatened and a victim…..I am quite sure that I will not be able to stomach next seasons Vicki Moose taking charge of her…..oops…..Briana’s wedding plans .
Wow that Brooks is a real piece… Anyone see how he was determined to leave, even telling Heather, “Don’t do this” when she came to talk to Vicki, but quickly made a 180 back to the house when he heard Brianna say that they were alienating themselves? Suddenly he was all “oh no we ain’t gonna ALIENATE ourselves now…” And then Vicki, who had just basically told her daughter that it’s Brooks or the high road, quickly followed suit and let Brooks escort her back to the party. This man is quite cunning, he didn’t want to leave and risk everyone talking about how he pulled Vicky away from her upset daughter.
I feel so sorry for Brianna. Brooks will surely fly away to a new conquest after he is done using Vicki, but Brianna will always remember how her mother was ready to toss her aside for the love of a piece-of-crap man.
It is really kind of scary how much control Crooks has over Vicki. She used to rag on Simon to Tamra, telling her not to let him control her. I think it was Vicki’s influence that led Tamra to leave Simon. Now, Vicki does Crooks bidding like a Stepford Wife and pity the person who has the temerity to criticize him.
I would love to get into a chat/fight with Brooks, pretty sure he couldn’t keep up!!!

Why did Jim go if he didn’t want to talk to Terry about the phony baloney bid’ness until next week? It’s Terry’s home; of course he’s going to want to clear the air. Why does Jim need to surprise Alexis? Didn’t she just leave their house? Why couldn’t they just go to the party together? If he was going to go anyway… That just makes Alexis look like an idiot. Yep, there was probably a producer off camera dangling a hundred dollar bill and pointing back in to the party.
Vicki is being so incredibly stupid that Miss Piggy should sue anyone who says Vicki looks like her. It would be a pretty solid defamation of character case. Miss Piggy’s attorney could prove the case by putting SH members on the stand and asking only one question, ” How would you feel if someone thought you reminded them of Vicki Gunvalson?”
What really annoys me about Vicki is that somehow she makes Gretchen look like a reasonable person. At least Wretched makes Slave work and keeps his balls in one of her overpriced bags. Alas hiring Brooks to sell insurance wouldn’t help because he would just sell huge policies to rich old women with weak hearts.
Silly Heather should have kept her real life friends away from her Housewives friends. I’m may be confused but I thought at the end of the season part each housewife could invite people. Hence crazy Sarah was technically invited by Alexis . Although it may have been different this time since in the past the party was more of a get together/drink/eat shindig as opposed to this being a name change celebration for Heather.
Does anyone else think heathers husband is the biggest baby in the world? After watching the Season finale you can see him being so big when jim is not around but when he is around you can see him shitting in his pants.
I think Jim is the one who’s a baby. He loves to boss his wife around, but as soon as it was clear he wasn’t going to get to pretend to be macho and bully Terry into apologizing, he ran for the hills. I thought Terry was more embarrassed about the awkward conversation they were about to have than afraid.

Tamra on WWHL last night with Denise Richards and it was classic. Denise looked beautiful and Tamra looked like a cheap slut, Denise was polished from head to toe and Tamra with her fried hair, her new fake boobs (again) and her plastic Minnie Mouse shoes could not best Denise. Tamra usually tries to be outrageous but she was intimidated she didn’t participate in a game because she couldn’t have topped Denise. I loved it but I never understand how Miss Andy doesn’t call her out. She did give the evil eye to Vicki it’s on film don’t these morons know all they have to do is rot run the film. I was looking at Eddie during the whole show, what an ass this kid is, he’s throwing his life away

I am by know means a fan of Jim, but I honestly thought he handled himself well. Dubrow was talking all kinds of garbage to other patrons but when Jim showed up he was his best friend even giving him a manhug.
I think most husbands would confront Dubrow on what he said and ask that he refrain from that. But because of the narcissist that is Tamra he was unable to.
I noticed that Crooksy laughed a great big ole laugh when Terry made his “grew a pair” comment. I wonder how he squares that with Jimbo now that they are all a fearsome forursome?
The “men” of the OC are such losers, including Dr. Terry. It’s not always about money, Terry is like a washwoman, Jim is abusive, Brooks is a fraud, Slade is a man whore, and Eddie is a stupid kid. When Tamra puts on her “show” he looks like he’s ready to cry.

Heather keeps Terry balls in her Chanel bag all the time (remember the leave the table comment when she met with her acting publicist?), and he has the nerve to say Jim grew a pair. Not a Jimbo fan at all but I do think that he has tried to stay out of the drama and off camera . I think he surprised Alexis because of her ambush in Costa Rica. Clearly he had told Terry he did not want to start drama by coming and Terry agreed and then ambushed him when he showed. What lovely hostesses they are.
I thought Terry handled himself well. He was honest. Jim wanted a private meeting so that he could (try to) intimidate him. Jim Bellino was the one doing the ambush. He is a controlling scumbag. He should really be confronting Alexis’ makeup artist.
Brooks makes my skin crawl every time he speaks. He is so inauthentic and everyone but Vicki senses it.

In the end, it’s probably pretty sad that we have all been duped by these shows, while they make
hundreds of thousands of dollars a year to act like fools. I truly don’t know why a couple like the
Dr. and Heather are involved and demean themselves. They just don’t fit with people like Tamra,
Brooks, Sarah, etc., etc.
All the housewives shows are replete with narcissistic women acting crazy , wearing designer clothes, taking dream trips paid for by Bravo and living in
ridiculous mansions. Then, we learn most are in bankruptcy. The shows were interesting at first,
but they are now nothing but ridiculous.
I, for one, am no longer into watching scripted fights and amoral behavior. It’s just not entertaining since someone decided to make it about sex, lies and dishonesty.
Hi zxtry! I have always wondered why some of the richer housewives would be on this show. I think its for the fame or the mistaken idea that just being on television makes you a movie star….Sad….
