For all SH Canadian friends… the cast of the Real Housewives of Vancouver has been “officially” announced…
… BUT SH readers knew all of this last week HERE (… photo of Vancouver’s Ronnie Negus hangin’ with Shana!).
The Real Housewives of Vancouver, the year’s most buzzed about new Canadian lifestyle reality series, takes viewers on a wild ride into the never before seen world of Vancouver’s wealthiest and most fabulous women. The first season dives into the everyday lives of Christina Kiesel, Jody Claman, Mary Zilba, Reiko MacKenzie and Ronnie Seterdahl Negus.
Debuting April 4 (9 ET/PT on Slice), the series will follow the lives of five of Vancouver’s most prominent women: free-spirited jet-setter Christina Kiesel, self-made businesswoman and fashionista Jody Claman, former pageant queen Mary Zilba, adrenalin junkie Reiko MacKenzie and winery owner and “luxury toy aficionado” Ronnie Seterdahl Negus.
Like its American counterparts, the series promises to highlight the life of Vancouver’s elite and will feature the ladies dining at Vancouver’s top restaurants and partying at its finest galas.
According to the press release, this season will see its varied cast members “try to re-launch a singing career, manage a high-end clothing boutique, train for a mixed-martial arts green belt, celebrate a landmark birthday and start up a wine label.”

After weeks of rumour on the West Vancouver party circuit, Slice specialty channel confirmed Tuesday that Jody Claman of West Vancouver and Lions Bay resident Ronnie Seterdahl Negus will appear in The Real Housewives of Vancouver, the first Canadian edition of the popular American reality series.
Claman, a twice-married mother of three, is widely known in the community as the owner of the Glass House clothing store in Ambleside and the founder of Jody’s Fine Foods, a catering company based at the same location. The latter is described by the show’s producers as a “multi-million-dollar empire.”
“Jody is funny, feisty, no-nonsense and strongly believes in telling it like it is,” according to her bio on the Housewives site. “Although well provided for by her second husband, a handsome and extremely successful businessman, Jody takes great pride in earning her own living.” In a clip published online by Slice, Claman compares herself to “Martha Stewart on acid.”
Seterdahl Negus, a self-described “domestic goddess slash professional shopper slash mother of five,” lives in a home on four adjacent waterfront properties in Lions Bay with her husband Russell Negus, founder of Abacus Private Equity. She sits on the board for the B.C. Centre for Ability, a charity that supports services for children with disabilities.
The Housewives site describes Seterdahl Negus as a “true alpha personality” who “loves a good party and will often leave everyone wondering what she will say or do next.”
The other Lower Mainland women in the show are Mary Zilba, a “singer and former pageant queen,” Reiko MacKenzie, a sports-carcollecting Shaughnessy mother of two, and Christina Kiesel, a twicedivorced Vancouver “lady of leisure,” according to the producers.

Wow, what a combo of women. Some seem a bit down to earth, some over the top and some quirky. Vancouver is so beautiful, I hope we get to see a lot of it. I am looking forward to this show, hope it isn’t a disappointment.
I’m looking forward to it as well, I love Canada, and have friends that live there. I was surprised that they didn’t go to Toronto, but I am still looking forward to watching.It looks like a very interesting group of women.

I can’t wait to see it when it is shown on Bravo during the midseason breaks for the US housewives. I’ve always loved Vancouver, it’s a beautiful city.

I’m from Vancouver (live in SF now), I’ve never heard of Mary Zilba, the pop star. You just know Ronnie Seterdahl Negus is going to be the Danielle Staub of RHOV.

Shaughnessy is the über rich old money neighbourhood, ‘cept for some of the McMonster Houses. Something tells me Reiko MacKenzie lives in a McMansion. Yaletown… meh. British Properties in West Vancouver (built by the Guiness family – they lit the Lionsgate Bridge too) used to be the most desirable – those of a certain monotheistic religious background (Vancouver used to be quite prejudice) couldn’t buy there up until the 70′s. Elsewhere in West Van – anything on the water is prime – pods of Orcas swimming by your property ad to the mystique of owning there.

Is it bad that all I could visualize for the first 45 seconds of this “song” was the way I used to acclimatize to a double jump rope before taking that jump in? Not sure that’s what the Top 40 pop star was trying to accomplish. :p

I live in Vancouver and Mary Zilba is, in fact, fairly well known, and her songs were on the radio a lot in the 90s. Yes, it’s unlikely that many outside of Van would know of her but she did have a legitimate singing career. If you didn’t listen to cheesy pop music then you wouldn’t have heard of her.

Vancouver often wins an award for the worst dressed city, so it will be interesting to see what they are wearing. People in that town run around in yoga pants.

Oh.My.God. I am about 99% sure that I worked with Jody Claman in around 1985. Damn, I wish I could figure out if it’s the same stuck-up Jody!!!! IF it is, she was already on the gold-digging path back then and it would make her around 50 years old right now.
If she has a kid that was born around ’85 and the babydaddy was her boss at the time, then it is definitely the same Jody. If not, my apologies for the waste of space here.
