STATEMENT FROM CEDRIC MARTINEZ  |  REAL HOUSEWIVES OF BEVERLY HILLS
February 7, 2012 | Hollywood
________________________________________________________

The following is a statement from Cedric Martinez regarding the February 6, 2012 episode of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills:

Two down, one to go!   Overall, Monday night’s second reunion episode was boring.  But I will say, it was nice to see a bit of the “old” Lisa.  She was vulnerable, much more spontaneous and slightly rattled.  It reminded me how much I really loved Lisa and her family for all those years.  Despite the show’s horribly edited fantasy presentation of “Lazy Cedric,” Lisa and I worked well together, for many years.   And we both worked very hard to make her clubs and restaurants a success.

But now, Lisa has allowed shady advisers and her unquenchable thirst for fame to cloud her judgment.  She is quickly losing her real friends and picking up fake friends.   And she is becoming more and more isolated.

As for the other Housewives, with the exception of Adrienne and Camille, they are just as two-faced as Lisa.   I got a chuckle when they all laughed at Ken’s made up “Cedric’s A Life Coach” story.  Well, let me set the record straight: although I’m not a life coach, Ken’s increasingly effeminate, catty behavior gave me an idea!   What would I tell each of the housewives if I really was a life coach?
So, here it is… my first Life Coach report on each of the “ladies:”
Dana
Although she is not (and never will be) close to being a real Housewife, I think it’s important to give her a little free advice.   With all due respect to Tam..ra from the O.C., Dana is the most pathetic, desperate, fake cast member on any version of Real Housewives.   Her “me, me, me” focus and extreme ass-kissing are desperate cries for help.  Dana, you need professional counseling; especially now that you and your $25,000.00 sunglasses have been dumped from the show.
Kim
I’ve known all along that Kim’s serious drug and alcohol problems were the least of her worries (long before Brandi called her out).  Her addictions mask much deeper self-loathing and anger issues that she must address if she is ever going to be happy.   Clinging to has-been-child-star fame is never attractive.  But Kim has taken it to a whole new level.   I really hope she gets the deeper help she needs.  If she doesn’t, I fear the show will contribute to her untimely death the same way it contributed to Russell’s suicide.
Adrienne
Stay calm and carry on!  You have a big heart and you are on the right track about Lisa’s intimate relationship with the tabloids.   Keep it up, but focus on the reality that she doesn’t actually “sell” stories, Lisa trades them.   I’ve seen her trade info on the celebs who dine at her restaurants (and the otherHousewives) many times.   Exposing her little game has already had a chilling effect on Lisa’s cozy relationship with the gossip magazines.  Think about it: when was the last time a tabloid came out to deny that someone was a paid source?

Kyle
Anyone with common sense knows that Kyle is the ultimate “player.”  Like Lisa, she has all of the tabloid editors on speed dial and she knows where many of their bodies are buried.  She cleverly stirs the pot and then gets out of the way as the other Housewives collide.  Once again, she “outed” a police report which was allegedly filed against someone who’s not there to defend himself (just like she did to me last year).
But Kyle is most interesting when she loses her cool   Her vicious, “rabid dog” attack on Brandi (early in season 2), revealed Kyle’s true nature.   My advice to  Kyle: Focus on your hotter-than-hell husband Mauricio, and stay away from the front line battles.  You’re much more effective (and likable) when you are manipulating the drama from the background.
Camille
Talk about a complete 180!   Camille used Kelsey Grammer’s despicable behavior and massive divorce settlement to change her image from “most hated Housewife” to “likable victim” in the blink of an eye!  And then she completely rose above the other Housewives petty drama.   Unfortunately, being above it all is often boring.  My advice: whatever you’re doing, keep doing it!   You have gone from former stripper to the classiest of the bunch.   And you look amazing!  You don’t need the show or the headaches.

Brandi
Brandi is a fighter who sometimes pushes it too far, but she’s always entertaining.   She was the first person to call out Kim’s drug abuse and she doesn’t back down to anyone; even poor little victim Taylor.  It was great seeing Brandi say exactly what everyone else is thinking: Who writes a book trashing their dead husband a “hot minute” after his suicide?  My advice: keep telling it like it is.   You’re swimming with sharks but I have a feeling you’ll be just fine.

Taylor
She’s the most fragile of the Housewives and I’m reallyworried about her.   She’s on a roller coaster fueled by lies, guilt, grieving, self-loathing and insecurity.  She hasn’t had a “hot minute” to process what went down.  Selling photos to the tabloids and releasing a tell-all(?) book less than six months after your husband’s suicide was a bad idea on paper.  And in real life, it was a disaster.
On last night’s show, Taylor attacked Brandi and it backfired, big time!  My advice to Taylor: quit the show, focus on your recovery and Kennedy’s upbringing.  And quit trashing the memory of your dead husband.   Physical abuse is always wrong, but publicly destroying the memory of  your only child’s dead father is also wrong.   And, on a side note, never allow your fame-whoring “therapist” to appear with you on a reality show – it’s just plain creepy.

Lisa

This one’s complicated.  Although I am stunned and sickened by Lisa’s betrayal, I will always love her and I will forever cherish the many special times we spent together as a family.

Professionally, we accomplished a lot and I’m proud that our hard work made Shadow Lounge and Villa Blanca so successful.   I would love to call a truce and try to work on repairing our friendship.  But for that to happen, Lisa would have to sincerely apologize  for the lies, vicious tabloid attacks and scripted on-camera insults (“The worst insult is indifference?”)  Really?

The emails I released last month prove I was invited to the Sur opening and that the scene was pre-planned and scripted by Lisa, my manager and Dave Rupel (the RHOBH Executive Producer).  But I want everyone to know: I sincerely wanted to congratulate Lisa on her success and to extend an olive branch.   And that’s exactly what I did.   Now the ball is in Lisa’s court.

Lisa and I were a great team and we were both looking forward to our Real Housewives spinoff and Lisa’s book.   But the minute I started to tell the truth about what really went down, Lisa had me completely banned from Bravo.  Her power over the network and Andy Cohen confuses me to this day.   Going along with the ban was bad for the show and bad for Bravo’s business.  As anyone who watched this season knows, Lisa was lost without the drama and tension of our love-hate relationship.  And, even worse, she was boring.

Hearing that Lisa’s book flopped and her Housewives spin-off (filmed without me) was dumped by Bravo, was bittersweet.   Our show would’ve been great!   Hopefully, we’ll get a chance to film it right, someday – warts and all!

So, I guess my advice to Lisa isn’t all that complicated: Lose the trite, scripted insults and sincerely apologize for the false police complaint and other lies & hurt you’ve caused.   And then accept my sincere apology for any hurt I’ve caused.    I know it’s a long shot, but I will always keep my heart open.

Thanks again to all of my friends and fans who have stuck with me throughout this painful process.  And thanks to the former “Cedric haters” who are starting to come around.  No one likes reading the nasty things people say, but I understand.  Because the way Lisa and the show buried me with lies, well, it’s a lot to overcome.   I’m keeping the faith and guessing that in the end, even the haters will have a bit understanding and respect for me.

Ciao,

Cedric

P.S. My challenge to Andy Cohen still stands: if he can take the heat, I’m up for a 100% honest, no holds barred interview on Watch What Happens Live; with no questions off limits.  C’mon Andy, the truth won’t hurt you.

About Stoopid Housewives

The Real Housewives franchises have become a guilty pleasure for me and I've become intrigued by 'normal' people who would agree to put their lives on television for public display and scrutiny. What are their motives to divulge their daily routines for viewing audiences to approve, reprimand, berate, castigate, attack; basically abuse and judge? Oh, just forget about the above nonsense... the majority of these people are just stoo-pid.

  1. gail says:

Cedric, Cedric, Cedric, I see you read SH, good for you, Have a nice day.

  2. storm915 says:

Who is this nobody, and why are the gossip columns giving him any credence. After this little diatribe, we now know who the “Deep Throat” (no pun intended) giving info to the tabloids really is….none other than Cedric.

  3. Bubbies says:

The problem is that the truth WOULD hurt Andy. That’s why he doesn’t want to hear it.

    • Nikki says:

AND it would antagonize some of his cash cows… There would be a chain reaction of panties-er, knickers in a wad. And that wouldn’t be pretty.

  4. Nikki says:

No way did Cedric write this himself. Somebody did some serious ‘co-authoring’. But I like it… Cedric is a known liar. But I suspect many of the RH ‘ladies’ in all the franchises are liars as well. He’s just trying to make that fact known and use up the last 30 seconds of his fifteen minutes of fame. I can’t blame him.

  5. sararhspeaks says:

I’m starting to think we the viewers are the only ones not in on the joke these shows are turning into – of course some of the cast had to know Cedric was coming to Sur that night he was “mic-ed” – we’re not idiots !
Between Cedric and Taylor et al – I JUST DON’T KNOW ANYMORE WHO THE F IS LYING AND WHO ISN’T ?????? Geesh ! I hate myself for loving this show !
(well I’m pretty sure about Trailor actually)

  6. Katie2 says:

The “truth” lies somewhere in the middle.

I think both Lisa and Cedric got a taste of the spotlight early on and competed for the privilege of finding “stardom” at their respective doors. It got out of hand hand someone had to go: Voila, Cedric.

The “story” surrounding their fake “adoption” of Cedric, a 15 year relationship that was supposedly in place due to his horriffic background that has since been debunked when his sister stepped forward, never made any sense in the first place.

I got a feeling that Cedric demanded more than what was “scripted” and Lisa had him eased out poste haste. This led to a “tabloid war” of words with each side claiming “victim” with Lisa enjoying the better half by appearing to be an “indulgent friend” to an ungrateful, lazy houseguest.

What is really amusing are these two vying for a position on a meaningless show that always, without question, finds at least one of these “stars” elbowing out the others in a bid to be considered the “top dog”.

    Jill Zarin anyone?

  7. JudyLou says:

    Amen!

  8. gessiewtf says:

This imbecile is clinging so desperately to his expired fifteen minutes that I almost feel sorry for him, as he apparently has no skills or friends to give him a job. It strikes me that he should go find a Sugar Daddy and bugger off. I hope this is the last we hear from you.

    • emma says:

I don’t know if it is exclusively a desire to be famous or a desire to clear his name. I’m not saying he’s telling the truth or lying, but if I were him I would be more concerned with how I was portrayed during my fifteen minutes. I think this is more like damage control.

  9. Mooshki says:

“Lisa and I were a great team and we were both looking forward to our Real Housewives spinoff and Lisa’s book.”

What a bad liar. Those “proof” emails he posted showed that he didn’t know about the possible spinoff until after he and Lisa had “broken up.”

  10. mythunker says:

Oh dear Cedric. Have you not heard the expression “less is more”?

  11. BelowSeaLevel says:

All right, I’m going to come out and say I really like Cedric and I agree with a lot that he wrote. It is obvious he had some help writing this, but that doesn’t bother me if he had some help polishing his message.

Flame away, but I like him. If I have to be the only one, I’m okay with that. I like Cedric and believe him. I wish Lisa would accept his apology and extend one to him and then they could get going on some projects together again.

    • mythunker says:

You think that his inner flame is shinning through in the emails?
Abandoned son of a French prostitute + the tone in these emails = a major case of the big time drama-citis. It read to me like a Stefano DiMera letter to Roman Brady and co.
Comment disclaimer – It’s early for me and my funny bone is rusty.

      • BelowSeaLevel says:

That is some fancy art you have there, MT! I likey! I don’t believe the French prostitute story, but I do like the guy. Hey, I’ll even admit that I liked the French prostitute story, except for the phone booth abandonment, that was just needless embellishment. I don’t have a problem with his drama, but I do have a problem with Shana and Kyle drama…I don’t like those two chicks.

Yes, I’m still digging Cedric. I like him. I don’t know who the Stefano & Roman characters are, but if you say it reads like that, I’ll concur because I love you that much.

        • mythunker says:

Well who the hell puts all these things on blast and make a public outcry for love and support of the person who they are blasting? Strange. Like does he really think by doing this he can patch things up with Lisa like this? Hrm..
And because I love you that much too, I shall reconsider Cedric’s motives here. :)
          I’m feeling artsy today!

          • BelowSeaLevel says:

I agree that it’s kinda crazy to go about it this way and unlikely to achieve anything positive. I also agree with just about every argument one can make against him, but I just like the guy kind of the way that I like Brandi. Would I want either of them as friends or in my life? No. But I do find them more entertaining and likable than the rest of the BH cast. I’m feeling like my better half today.

    • RomoSheDiNT says:

I like him too BSL… I just love Lisa and Cedric! They need to kiss and make up already and get back to being Laverne and Shirley again dammit bc I’m done talkin about that Shana bish. :-)
I need more coffee. Be back soon…

      • BelowSeaLevel says:

Hi Romo! I agree…also with needing more coffee.

      • sd says:

ok, devil’s advocate here! Is Cedric a fame whore?…Yes! There was something about that whole story on the night Cedric left that didn’t sit right with me. None of that was caught on camera? That is Bravo’s bread and butter that kind of stuff. Lisa came on and explained that a friend, of what, 15 years just jumps up and betrays the family so much and a permenate riff occurs. Just a perfect little story wrapped up with a bow. On the other hand if all the things Cedric claims are true there is no way Lisa would have made the satements about him that she did in fear of retaliation from him and his supposed knowledge of all their dirty laundry. Who knows what the real truth is but one thing is for sure neither party is being 100% honest about what happened and trying to put themselves in the best light possible.

    • housewivesaddict says:

I also think he hit pretty much close to home on his advice and descriptions of the cast. ( Exception-Adrienne- I think she is calculating, manipulative and catty) But, I don’t think Lisa is at fault here. He is def a fame Wh**e, he should be thankful for his free ride on Lisa and Ken. I mean really, who lives FREE in a fabulous mansion, “works” in the restaurant, gets TV exposure, swims in the pool and lays in the sun and complains??? Overall, I agree with most of his comments.

  12. meowalert says:

Yowza and yikes. “Cedric, Dude!-you need to chill out a bit, how bout’ hopping a fence for a calming cat-nap by a neighbor’s pool?” It had to hurt like hell losing that Golden Ticket – but you can’t have it both ways…….not sure emasculating a woman’s husband is the way to win entry back to Candy Land.

  13. Tracy says:

For some reason I kinda like Ceddy.

  14. Prostitutionwhore says:

I think Kyle is the one who is clinging to has-been-child-star fame. It’s pretty obvious.

  15. Rahrah says:

I don’t see Cedric as some genius so maybe someone approached him about attaching his name to this correspondence. If Cedric were as smart as the author he would have his on restaurants and clubs because you’d think he learned something from Lisa. Not buying this fiction. Moving right along.

  16. RomoSheDiNT says:

COHEN, Write this down… We do the thing with Lisa and Cedric having their own show, right? Right, we’re doing it! Shut up and listen. Ok… We open with that 1970s jingle. Think Three’s Company and every show from that era. It’s gold! And you like money and shee, shee, shee, right? Oh what, you’re listening now? Good, I got more… So Lisa and Cedric are being their silly selves, playing it up. You’re gonna need to find someone to write the opening song. I’m not talking about Kim effin Z either! Anyway, maybe Brandi jumps in on a couple of eps… Keep up Cohen, we’ve moved on from the opening jingle and now I’m pitching ep ideas. Chit! I’m done. Don’t blow it like you did Miami!

  17. Angry Oldman says:

Cedric should learn there’s a more proper forum for airing his grievances, opinions and ideas, it’s called commenting on this blog. So Cedric, please join us! We’ll be nice since commenters here don’t wage personal attacks against eachother and that’s a lot more respect than any of the Housewives have given you.

  18. gessiewtf says:

I’m glad that your book was a flop and I’m glad that your spin-off wasn’t picked up and I think your husband is effeminate and I am glad Adrienne hates you and can we please be friends again?

  19. Pompano Ann says:

Cedric is questionable and yes hanging on the 15Min Fame clock; but……..is he far off from the items he did on each lady??? I think most of us have blogged, commented and thought the same thing he or who ever is writing this. Just saying! ??????

  20. betsey says:

Why would anyone believe this grifter? How stupid does he think people are? He says: “I’ve known all along that Kim’s serious drug and alcohol problems were the least of her worries (long before Brandi called her out).” Um, anyoe who watched one episode of season 1 could have told us that! If he is such a gifted business man and hard worker then why does he NEED Lisa? Cedric, if you’re the real deal, make like a real man and open your own bar or restaurant.

    • madepiley says:

Well clearly he has already run through that 6k she paid him. ;)

      • betsey says:

Exactly what I was thinking! His other “press releases” were not so kind towards his wanna-be-adopted momma. He’s clearly run out of “stories” to sell the tabloids and needs $. What’s with his obsession to appear on WWHL? It irritates me.

        • TV Junkie says:

Hey, maybe Cedric and Shana can collaborate on a novel about a grifter and a….er ‘nother grifter who fall in love ‘xcept one of ‘em’s gay, no wait-both of ‘em’s gay. Any-who, these two love birds go on a big adventure to open a lot of different businesses that make them a lot of money, cause they’s so smart and all. Then, they get into a fight and beat each other up and then………………..
Nah! It’s even too far out there to even imagine!!!!!!

    • kitbrown says:

I’m kinda liking his little tidbits of gossip. You know bravo will never give them! I enjoy the behind the scenes dirt!

  21. steview says:

I’m also curious because if cedie is being sincere, I don’t know where he is coming from. He is not treating Lisa like a disgruntled “partner” or going after her as if he were an employee unjustly fired. He is wooing her and it is almost and if he was angry with her for siding with her husband instead of him. He is upset because of a lazy storyline and a “police report” (I wonder if that will count against his getting his american citizenship strighten out.)

Just like Slade from OC, Cedric thinks of himself as a housewife and want to set the record straight with Andy. Poof Cedric.

  22. Evangeline says:

Mmmm . . . sounds like Bernie and Cedric are making beautiful Mac n’ Cheese together!

  23. Lisbeth says:

Cedric’s comments about Adrienne speak volumes about where she’s getting her false information about Lisa. His take on the other HW’s is off too imo. He’s worried about Taylor?? She’ll still be standing when the rest of them fall because she’s a sociopathic survivor. He gives Kyle way too much credit. She’s just not that smart. His comments about Lisa are a pathetic statement of how much he wants to be back in her good graces so he can mooch off of her and Ken. What a sad, pathetic little man!

  24. kac says:

Loved the part about Kim. I’m sure they were super close, being as Lisa and Kim never hung out in Season One and Kim was practically AWOL and Cedric was banished from the Castle after that. But no, Cedric, you were besties.

All his “Insider-Info” anyone who reads this site could make up. He reminds me of that weirdo ex-boyfriend of one of the Jersey Shore girls that is forever giving RadarOnline his Two Cents worth. They dated for a few weeks, but he somehow knows everything about her, what she is thinking, what REALLLLY happened in a given situation, etc. etc…..

  25. ninety&nine% says:

Ken is effeminate? Would Brandie please weigh in on this one? You stay sassy Cedric.

  26. MaggieG says:

Cedric has apparently heard something different about Lisa’s book (being a flop). I read that it sold quickly & was in a second printing. Did read that Bravo passed on the spin off. Lastly, while yes, he did release the emails between his manager & Dave Rupel they only confirm what Rupel asserts, which is hardly the same thing as proof that Lisa knew beforehand. So he was mic’d when he got there, that doesn’t prove Lisa had anything to do with that.

  27. bayareastateofmind says:

i dont understand her comments about being proud of herself for being able to take care of herself independently…”everyday i get the electric bill paid and im like yeah im doin it”…what? single boys and girls who are starving in college manage to support themselves, single mothers with no govt assistance besides wic, working at walmart, get their electric bills paid, women who work white collar, blue collar, no man, get their bills paid every mth…like, what? youre 40 years old. didnt she win an award for being a business woman?? didnt she say she had a company?? her lies are just sickening.

  28. leighmarker says:

funny how a tiger can spot a tiger

  29. Ok? says:

I never doubted that we didn’t know the entire story b/t Cedric and Lisa, just because how does anyone know the whole story about anything unless you see it first hand. We don’t know the truth about Kelsey and Camille’s, Taylor and Russell, Kyle and Kim, anything.

The thing about Cedric is that he is going about being famous the wrong way. If he feels like they played him and made him look lazy and he was not, then just say that. Say you want to vindicate your name and whether people believe you are not they can respect you wanting to clear your name. But then turning around and attacking them about stuff everything under the sun….Now he’s trying to put out all of their business or his version of it? To me it says something if I’ve been friends with you for 15 years, and as soon as we fall out my first instinct is to try to blackmail you or bash you? My question is, what’s the point? What is your purpose? It’s so funny to me when people do low-down stuff to other people to prove that the other person is low-down. I’m not the type of person to say “Ooooo, you know he’s right!”. I then look at him and say, “What does that make you? Your intentions are so transparent”. How can you try to make ammends with someone while actively trying to throw them under the bus? It’s an oxymoron.

We’ll never know the agreement that was made about him working and living with Lisa. There is probably hurt on both sides, but the truth is some things and people you just need to walk away from.
