Ms SH do you know if it is true that Kim ended up divorcing her oil billionaire husband because the two mother in laws argued over where the couple would live to raise their children? I just read that somewhere else and was wondering if you had ever covered that territory? If this is true, that her mother was so meddlesome that it destroyed her marriage, I am not surprised she kept Ken a secret from Kyle. I am not saying Ken was good for Kim, just saying I have a better understanding of why she told them, you don’t know my family, and then kept him a secret from Kyle for a year.

I was just doing some rummaging thru links and found where someone had made a comment about Kim’s marriage ending because of the mother-in-laws arguing over where the couple would live, it did have the link to the book and I read a few of the reviews on the book but that wasn’t where I read about the marriage. Such a shame, it seems as if Kim’s had to fight her family her entire life to try to find happiness in a relationship.
If it is true, no wonder after her fiancee’s murder she just focused on herself, her kids and alcohol and or substance abuse. It sure doesn’t seem like anyone is in her corner. Every time she tried to tell them about what was said at the airport in season 1, Kyle attacked her about not having her back and never once shut up and listened to her, then set back and let her “friends’, especially Shana have a go at Kim. Shana’s behavior and aggressiveness should have set alarm bells off for all of these women, what in the heck is wrong with them for buying into all of the support for Shana and Kim bashing. If I was Kim I would move AWAY from Kyle , Kyle sees herself as a victim of Kim, when she is the one that probably causes the most anxiety in Kim’s life.
ITA with you guys….she’s running around like a chicken with her head cut off (with a disney dress on…not really but in my head)…upset that Kim got the room next door to them but keeps putting her ear up to the wall…EEEWWW! well it could be that production was actually actively amping her up intentionally about her sister’s lateness. Putting her in a position where she felt like she had to make excuses to people for what was really inexcusable behavior(not the being late part but the lies about why she was late) Given the tone of this season I am almost sure that what any “down-time” interaction between Evolution and Kyle entailed.
Having said that Made, I wonder if Evolution is the production company that is doing Kyle’s new TV program. The whole TV show within a TV show would seem as though it would need to have a lot on continuity between the two programs.
Poor Kim (and anyone Kim choses) will never measure up to Kyle’s standards. Her need to punish Kim on camera is so sad.

Therapy is a good thing if the doctor has socks. I kept setting up situations I knew they would let me down. What is the definition of insanity doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. Now we just invite them and if the show up or show up on time we are pleasantly surprised.

Kim needs to run fast and far away from Kyle if her stint in rehab is to be successful. I don’t drink and just watching Kyles’s behavior with Kim would make me want to take a drink. She never lets up on her, everything she does is wrong, she cannot win in Kyle’s eyes. It’s sad because it is a lose lose situation if she stays close to Kyle. She treats Shana more like a sister than Kim, and that is disturbing.

ITA, Lisa…. look at last years season finale…Kim showed up looking beautiful & immediately, Kim whispered in Lisa’s ear (she’s drunk)…bam!…it went down hill from there….this year at the white party (although Kim was high as a kite), Kim was dancing having a good time and Ken (my precious..I cannot remember that characters name?)…were dancing & kissing on the dance floor….have you seen Kyle STARING at them? No reason…just STARING…well, GLARING….I dont know, is he controlling? maybe but so is her sister…I think nobody likes him because he is sure not what would fit into their circle in the looks department and does have a record….I also think Kyle did not approve because Kyle did not know…there’s a reason Kim kept it secret for a year. Her kids would probably think anyone is controlling since Kim’s life revolved around her kids before she got involved with someone…however, I dont think she should’ve got involved before she got help….Whew! sorry, long winded!

I was struck by Adrienne’s comment re: more than 10 minutes on the beautiful cliff and she would be bored. It was beautiful and peaceful. She was with her husband. I wouldn’t want to leave such a moment in time. How shallow is this woman? Does she not see the beauty of her surroundings, the ocean the gentle breeze, etc. and the sweetness of the time shared with her husband no less? Those are the moments worth living for. Bored? Boring is endless bland parties with strangers. Boring is shopping and playing dress up. Boring is what I see these women do every week. Mindless, empty lives are portrayed on these shows. I assumed these women knew that much. I may have been mistaken?

First comment ever: I loved that Mauricio, and Kyle, called a spade a spade. Kim’s behavior mortifies me; there is just no excuse for it. Kyle has tried the carrot and the stick to help Kim, and is either judged for being too soft or too hard on her. Kim never, ever takes responsibility for anything she says or does. Hey, FL viewer. Welcome. I hail from Florida myself. I totally agree with you about Adrienne and Paul. And I agree somewhat with your Kyle assessment. If she didn’t choose to air all of this I might have more sympathy. I also think that as long as she has been dealing with this, she would be educated enough to avoid some of the co-dependency type behavior , such as listening at the wall while Mauricio urged her to ignore Kim and spend time with him instead.
Where is the drama of actually sitting there and having a good time enjoying good company and great food. Remember everyone has to bring drama or they will be fired like the NYC group.

If your lucky he will grow up to be like me. I stop taking my meds until it gets cold and I get tired of walking around the parking lot trying to remember where I parked my car. My hubby and I get along so well because I can’t remember what I mad about. ADD is a wonderful thing once you grow up.
bahahaha! That’s a good way to look at it. I dont really mind him unmediated because he is fun and I dont really do the “structure” thing around here OBVIOUSLY. (maybe cause I am a touch unmedicated too) Anyways i can definitely tell that this would pose a problem in the classroom. In fact I tried to not start the meds up the beginning of 6th grade year( I struggle with the wisdom of being my child’s first drug dealer)…Anyway that lasted about 2 weeks before I was hauled in for a ‘come to Jesus’ meeting with all his teachers.

MP, have you tried biofeedback for Gabe? I do it for other reasons but the guy I use says that it is very helpful and popular with ADD children (vs. meds).
Good luck with him, MP. I remember one of my ADHD kids who chose to go off meds senior year. He did pretty well. I just got furious with him when he would come into class with chocolate and mountain dew. I would send him on a hall pass to run a couple of laps on the track and return. I would yell “no more mountain dew”
He probably loved those hall passes.
I am by no means an ADD expert, but I know sometimes people with ADD have extreme focus when it’s something they choose to do. Be it guitar or something else, I bet his “condition” will help him develop his interests. I have some adult friends with ADD who are some of the most talented, smartest people I know. Whether he chooses to use his power for good or evil, . . .
I will have to research the biofeedback stuff. I admit I have never heard of that till you mentioned it MT. Thanks for the option. And Fake, I do see the ADD working to his advantage in his guitar. In fact it is soooo intense when he gets that guitar in his hands for like hours at a time that I have toyed with the idea that he might be a bit Asperger( he also gets obsessive about wiring up speakers and stuff in his room constantly tinkering with that) but hubs dont think so thinks I watch too much discover network.
My husband is like that with guitars, speakers, computers. That extreme focus (I know, seems contradictory with ADD) can be quite the gift. A teacher I know diagnosed with ADD has extreme focus when it comes to running and reading. She explained to me the difference is it is something that is her choice.

The speaker thing is a Boy thing. Drove me crazy!
All four of mine were ADD. Two had speech problems very early and had to go on meds to help them. We always took them off during the summers and when we could so we could keep it to a minimum. It has made for a very interest and adventurous life. It was funny because one of the teachers sat us down and asked if our child had kidney disease would we refuse to give him the medication to treat his condition. That’s when it hit us this is a physical issue. We were very thorough on having them tested and even went the placebo route keeping a journal.
Cyn1, I used to be of the “too many kids are medicated” crowd Then my second year as a teacher I had a parent conference. I had no idea the kid was ADD. I just told the parents about his performance. The parents said, well, he’ll have to go back on his medication then. I felt silly that I didn’t know he was ADD based on my language describing his behavior and my training. I felt bad that he had to go back on medication. But guess what? He had Fs without the medication and As with it. Sometimes it is absolutely necessary.

There was no logic in Mauricio attacking Ken over Kim’s choice not to take the same flight as the rest of the cast. That was Kim’s choice. Is Mauricio insinuating that Ken controlled Kim’s departure date? Or is Mauricio trying his best to get Ken to break up with Kim so that Kim would always stay the little whipping girl that Mauricio & Kyle could pick on and treat however which way they want?
