Several SH readers have emailed the Radar story about Shana filing divorce papers to stay on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
Taylor Armstrong was reportedly compelled to file for divorce from her late husband due to his “blistering letters” to network executives.
Russell simply did not like his personal life being broadcasted on television.
“During filming of the show, as the season progressed, Russell started sending blistering letters and emails to Bravo and NBC Universal executives threatening lawsuits,” a source told RadarOnline.
“Russell was furious that Taylor had discussed their serious marital issues, including the fact that he hit her on multiple occasions, and that the fellow housewives were now talking about it on the show.”
Executives were not happy with the controversy.
“Bravo and NBC decided that Russell and Taylor were more trouble than they were worth, and decided to end filming with them, as soon as it became apparent that Russell was going to continue down that path,” the source continued.
Taylor was desperate to keep her spot on the show.
“Taylor decided to pursue the separation first, but then she thought to get back on the show, she would need to file for divorce, so that she could appear on the show again, if she promised executives that she was leaving him for good,” the insider explained.”
NOTE: This is very old news. It was a well-known fact that Russell and Shana were labeled the “drama couple” by Bravo and if they did not being the drama they would be replaced.

I’m withya click. I just want the season to unfold and see where Bravo plans to take it all and then wash and scrub my hands of it. It truly breaks my heart. I feel much better now that I am not reading any more comments on the subject matter. I am however interested in the truth of it all.
This whole season of BH is just too much.
Who would have thought the franchise they tried to develop as just “fluff” and obnoxious materialism would become one of the darkest story lines in reality tv history?

It is good to know people are out there who care about the circumstances surrounding the death of this man. This is such a fishy case and suicide is just too cut and dried for the evidence that exists. No telling what involvement Traylor had. Just to hear her voiceover last night, announcing the next scene, was sickening.
Eartha: OK, I’m going out on a limb here…The only person who has said she was supposed to meet Russell that day was Traylor–and I think it changed from we’re going to dinner to we’re going to meet at the office.
BUT what if that was supposed to be the day before, and what if R&T decided to stage a suicide attempt and she was supposed to show up and save him?? That, coupled with the divorce complaint and her coming out publicly with the abuse allegations right after she filed, etc with a rescued suicide attempt would certainly ramp up the drama. I know, it’s far fetched!! But with these peeps we need to go to the dark side!
I wonder if there really was a note left behind. Altho I am not buying the suicide, I think there is something else that took place, I find it hard to believe he would not leave a note for his 3 children. Who was the person in the house with Shana? He needs to come forward and speak some more.

I can not refer to this tragedy as “Russell stuff.” I am positive that the Armstrong’s will live with this forever. Their pain will never go away. Having a blog to voice your anger is a good thing. Losing someone you love to suicide (if that’s what really happened) is almost unbearable, and what hurts even more is when a person exploits it for their own gain. Talking/blogging, all good, what is not good is keeping your feelings bottled up!
It’s horrible! Russell’s realization that he really had hooked himself up with such a wench! There’s no disuputing that Trashy Traylor would do anything to keep her spot on the show. I hope she is gone next season…I can’t take watching her at all.
The show has become too sad to watch, but I know I will.

I actually find this tidbit of info very interesting b/c I’ve read ad nauseum that they needed to bring the drama or be fired, but this adds another layer. The fact that Russell threatened to sue NBC/Bravo & that the network was ready to cut ties and even stopped filming explains a lot. For example this contradicts other stories that after the white party Taylor went into hiding & didn’t film for weeks presumably b/c the abuse had gotten worse when in all truth it was the Network’s decision to stop filming. In a small way I find it somewhat redeeming for the Network that they stopped filming Taylor & Russell (even if to avoid a lawsuit), I just wished they would’ve refused to start filming again even after she filed for divorce. This also explains the emails that Russell sent his ex-wife prior to his suicide. I’m sure the thing that finally took him over the edge was not what was happening to him, but who was doing it~his wife! Taylor will have hell to pay for her role in this man’s death!
what emails did he send? do you have a link with information on them? I have a theory that she may have been threatening him with a damaging tell-all book, based on information from several articles right after his death, and that these threats may have pushed him over the edge. So I am curious to see if this is indeed a possibility,and if these emails you mention might hold any clues that tie in with this idea. Thanks.

just out of curiosity, has anyone looked into Trashy A$$ Taylors business partner Dwight Coates? Not too disparage anyones integrity or accomplishments but she seems to have quite a history with him and his business seems to deal with some pretty heavy/sensitive information. Russell is starting to look more and more like a small time con artist that TAT just managed to hook up with and then decided he really couldn’t take her to the heights she wanted. But,. somehow she is still invested in at least a couple of business ventures. She is looking more and more shady this year.

If you look into eImplement.com you see that it’s not just some regular .com. It seems to have a rep, at least on the surface. But, you can do a bit of research and he’s been written about/interviewed. So he seems to have some sort of cred. But, IMDb has him as being an actor or at least as being in “Richard III” as well as the real housewives. I’m just curious. TAT is also in IMDb but not only for HW for the Hills.
What is really getting on my nerves is the fact that she seems to be on the “grift” from the get go and when she met Russell it all seemed to be going good. But, once he was no longer useful he somehow managed to be disposed of so quickly and without much grieving.

Just like the Housewives can’t be suit for repeating Taylor’s allegations I think the same applies for Bravo unless it can be proven they knew it was false. I believe the only one in this situation that would be libel is Taylor.
I never thought Russell was murdered, however, I strongly suspect that Taylor pushed him over the edge. And now with this story’s tidbit, the picture is becoming much more clear.
If she could come so unhinged at her “friends” in front of the camera, just imagine what it was like at home behind closed doors.
If you listen to the one person who has spoken who has nothing to lose (or gain) when it comes to describing their relationship, that would be Russell’s son. Didn’t he say that their relationship was “business” and that she was always yelling at Russell?
If you multiply her crazed scenes on camera by ten, just imagine what it could’ve been like at home for the kiddos to witness. And her on-camera crazy was directed at people she WANTED in her life. Just imagine what it would’ve been like for Russell, who ended up putting a wedge between her and something she really, really wanted – celebrity and wealthy friends.
Poor, poor Kennedy.
And I just went back and watched the reunion from last year. Russel was talking about having to work so much because the economy and SHAFT was just glaring at him with such hatred. He had ceased being useful to her at that point.
Aha. He just informed the world that he wasn’t as “rich as Texas” and burst her bubble for everyone to see. I’ll bet he caught hell that night!

I can’t understand why Bravo is still having Taylor do the New Year’s Eve party and endorse the Ciroc (barf) vodka, etc. This just makes them look so shady! And, they should quit telling people to “bring the drama”. Isn’t that encouraging this type of behavior from the housewives? If they have to bring fake drama, this is not REALITY TV ! These shows are now becoming very dark and dangerous indeed. Not fun watching any more. And, what reputable sponsor would be involved with a show where Russell takes his own life from all the “drama”? Don’t these sponsors know that we will not be buying their products due to this connection?

I’ve been trying to figure out her body language, especially before the upcoming reunion.
So far, I’ve figured out that the long blink, or closing her eyes, is that she doesn’t like the question and doesn’t want to see it or be there.
But then there is her deer-in-the-headlight, big toothy grin. She did it during the godmother question. Anyone have any ideas? She did it a lot in the Dr. Phil interview and at last year’s reunion. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but it really bugs me.

Willing to hear the interviewer out while they try and maintain a step ahead. If you really watch her she really plays on the emotional part. Honestly, its been 5 months since his death. She LOVED him so much but has managed to write a tell all book and is doing all kinds of humanitarian works as well as being a spokesperson for a liquor? Come on!!! She finally got what she wanted. Russell is gone and who cares? He beat her..Right? I mean he has a history. Right? Like the people who get branded as sex offenders for urinating in a public place. Sheet happens. That’s HUGE considering the unexplainable way that Lisa is backing SHAFT. As if SHAFT might have some dirt on her via the Cedric/Dwight connection. Remember the first episode when SHAFT runs in and claims she just bumped into cedric and Kyle was like “so?” It not looks like maybe SHAFT was covering her butt. Lisa’s dislike for Brandi is due to a very loose affiliation with cedric but it looks like Cedic and Dwight are closer and they associate with schemers and people that ….wait for it wait for it… write books! wasnt there supposed to be a cedric tell-all?

As far as being supportive during the show, remember no one told her about the Russell and Taylor threat to sue because Russell thought Lisa leaked information to a magazine because she knew the editor. Kyle didn’t want to get involved and let Lisa know about it, so when Lisa got the email and asked Shana about it Shana pretended she didn’t know anything about it.
Lisa kept trying to say that at the White Party and Kyle still didn’t give up the information, so while she defended Shana then it was simply because her friend kyle didn’t woman up and tell her “best’ friend that her other “best friend” knew about those emails. poor Lisa, she must feel so betrayed by Kyle as well now.
And yet she still keep s defending her on twitter and fb by deleting negative or probing questions regarding those two. And in her Bravo blog she seems to be mainlining the SHAFT koolaide.
Is she still doing it since this last episode aired, on the twitter? I don’t tweet and know nothing about tweets, but I know Shana is a twit, is that useful information? Maybe they are under contract as to how they have to be supportive of twit at least until the season ends and the season finale is taped?. Lisa had her pegged from day one, she must have a different reason than she believes her to make it look like she is supportive of her. I hope so anyway.

Wonder what is taking him so long to write his, I read the other day that the book Taylor was writing was supposed to be announced on one of the websites, like Radar, or tmz, the DAY they found Russell,and had to postpone the announcement.
So if that is true, she may have been the one with the tell all info on Russell and the ugliness that was supposed to be exposed about him that was up immediately after his death was announced.Apparently she was writing before he even died, her tell all book on how to whatever the name of the book is.
Yet the entire time she was separated she hung out with Russell all of the time and was writing this book at the same time. How vile a person she must really be.

Well, no one wanted to be around shana either. She ran to russell about camille- putting camille in a bad situation. And under the threat of litigation from shana’s hubs, from stories shana told her friends about him, why would anyone dare converse with her? Shes a sociopath and her cover was blown. I dont get why lisa still covers for shana in her blog when shes seen how her pals vile kyle and shaft accused her of calling a gossip rag.
LOL, maybe she did and they left it on the cutting room floor. I would certainly not be surprised if she didn’t try to get herself in the door. But to say Camille should have stayed home, she makes everybody want to slap her. That is just vile, knowing she lied to all of them and Russell as well and then say Camille should have stayed home , she has some serious serious issues and Kennedy needs to be with her daddy’s family so she can grieve properly and have someone not constantly going out partying til they are falling down drunk and screeching like a banshee being the one raising her.

It has come to light that bravo edited out scenes in which Kim appeared under the influence…..My disgust just went up a notch, if that is in any way possible. They edit Kim’s scenes and yet air Russell’s……how low can you go????
Why does anyone need to bring the drama? Why must there be drama at all? Think about this: The Jersey Shore started out by showing a group of people that partied together,they had a sense of loyalty to each other like a crazy family… with family night on Sunday, etc they were nuts, but they were fun to watch. As their egos grew, and their discontent with each other grew, disgust for them grew as well
Everyone will look at a bad accident and see what the fuss is all about then they eventually turn away because what they see makes them sick. Why give us a bad accident to be shocked by? Why not give us friendships and a lifestyle that we’d like to be a part of.
Another note – I think all of these “Bravo made me do it” articles are from Taylor’s camp. She is still trying to be a victim when we are all seeing that she was the alpha/aggressor.
Can there be any doubt in anybody’s mind that Taylor is a two-faced liar. She lies to Russell and she lies to her friends. She tells Russell that things she may have said on RHOBH are lies. Russell states several times that he is threatening this litigation because people are lying about him abusing her. In front of her and in front of the cameras. Taylor just sits there. She admits to having said something to Camille and others, but says it was exaggerated and therefore Russell is right to believe it is slanderous. The whole time, he still thinks Taylor is on his side in this matter. I imagine that it is dawning on him that this is a set-up by Taylor to ruin his reputation and divorce him. Did you see how happy Russell was in the limo? He wasn’t nervous at all. Because he didn’t think he had done anything wrong. He thought that the other girls would probably be equally appalled that Camille was spreading false rumors about him. Because that is what Taylor told him! that is why he had the nerve to go to the party! Then Adrienne may have opened his eyes a little bit by saying that Camille wasn’t exaggerating, that that is what Taylor has been telling everybody. Who does he believe his wife or her friends. Taylor probably goes on to tell him that Bravo has edited things a certain way to make him look like a monster. Hence the lawsuits against the network. This guy is fighting blind. When he finally does realize that Taylor has said all these things to the entire world, and that after destroying him she serves him with divorce papers, taking his precious Kennedy away, it is all too much for him and he ends his life. After 5 min. of grief (not guilt) Taylor realizes that he has given her the ultimate gift. A way out of her web of lies and an opportunitiy to spin this however she likes. And start anew with her chances of fame and fortune intact. Bravo is off the hook, too. they know Russell’s family can’t do squat. He signed consent to be filmed forms. Same thing as if your daughter gets naked for Girls gone Wild, and they have signed. Too bad, Mom and dad.
Kyle and Mauricio believe in Taylor, but I think Adrienne and Lisa see right through Taylor. However, they have been told that the company policy is full sympathy for Taylor. All these voice overs are new since the suicide, because they all say the same thing, Taylor needs our support.
It is all a crock off bullshit, ratings gotten on the corpse of Russell Armstrong. It is human behavior at it’s worst.
Remember at the Malibu party when SHAFT was going off? She was fixin to mouth off about some perceived slight that Adrienne had “done to her” But Adrienne shut her mouth for her. wonder what that was all about?
Lets face it this all could have been avoided If Kyle would have shared what she knew with the other ladies after the dinner with Russell and Taylor. If Lisa knew the Armstrongs were accusing her of leaking things to the press and litigation she would have confronted them head on and be done with it. Kyle is only suddenly concerned that the Armstroms threaten to sue people?
Yeah, if I were Lisa and I saw the footage of that.. Kyle would no longer be my friend. She wasnt much of one to begin with. Totally threw Lisa under the bus that SHAFT was driving.
Kyle only became concerned about the lawsuits when Adrienne & Paul got involved. Otherwise, I doubt she would have told the Armstrongs to leave the party. I think that’s why she was crying. She felt pressured to do something she didn’t want to do. Kyle LOVES drama. That’s why she LOVES Taylor so much.
BTW, Lisa’s tweet said that she didn’t know about the lawsuit talk against her at Kyle’s dinner party with the Armstrongs. Shows how Kyle’s mind works when it comes to friends & loyalty vs drama.

Even allowing for the warped perceptions of a (allegedly) battered woman, this just makes NO sense.

This whole “threatening email” thing is completely ridiculous. Everyone knows that if you want to intimidate someone you send them a cease and desist (or cyst and diseased in Orange County) letter written and signed by a real, practicing attorney who will charge you for it. If Russell didn’t even go to the expense of getting a lawyer to write a letter, how serious was he? Instead, we’re led to believe the entire cast of RHoBH and Bravo were shivering in fear because of the functional equivalent of “mean tweets.”
If this is Bravo’s strategy to vilify Russell in much that same way as E! is trying to vilify Kris Humphries to save Kim Kartrashian, it’s not working.
Hi AOM–Merry Christmas! I think Russell said at the Kyle/Mauricio dinner that he “met with one of my litigators” and was told all they had to do was file a lawsuit–and could probably have just filed a writ without a full blown complaint–and People (?) would give up their source. He was pretty nonchalant about it, and the “meeting with one of my litigators” comment fed my conspiracy theory that R&T were well aware of the MMR lawsuit on the horizon and were positioning themselves to try to protect assets.
Actually, it is working for the Kardashians. Poor Humphries gets booed every time he gets the ball because people think he is a bad person. Men need to stay the hell away from Kim K. She is bad freaking news, and has had sex with too many people. She is a a walking STD with mental problems. But, they managed to spin Chris Humphries into an object of ridicule.

The voice over in the limo where russell was talking about what camille said, where shana says what camille said was an exaggeration but the abuse was true (not her exact wording), point I am trying to make is, if camille said we don’t say he hits you, or beats you up, or broke your jaw- exactly which part did shana think camille exaggerated, the broken jaw? Or was there much more we were not privy to? I would love to be able to see exactly everything they did film for this season.
Once they re-edited the season, time lines and everything else seems to be very confusing. I know our SH is working behind the scenes on her timeline and can’t wait to see what she puts together !
About confusing timelines- I watched the last episode again. I noticed that when Adrienne was expressing her concerns to Paul (in their study). It looked like Paul was just starting to grow a goatee. Later on in the evening, at the white party, he had a full grown goatee. They made it look like they discussed the Camille issue in the morning and the party was that evening. I know some men can grow facial hair fast, but not this quickly.
BTW- I really like Paul and this is why I noticed. Mauricio’s body is nice, just not the
face. He seems too fake.
