Watch What Happens Live: Someone PAID To Visit The Clubhouse… Miss Andy Cohen Relieved!

Miss Andy… “Can you believe someone actually PAID to visit this hoarders palace??”

Some total idiot paid $30,000 to visit the Miss Andy Cohen’s Bravo Clubhouse.

“… They auctioned off two tickets to Watch What Happens: Live, and thankfully I was spared humiliation — they went for 30,000 dollars! I was pacing backstage when that item came up for bids.

All in all the evening raised more than 600K and that all goes to UNICEF, which helps vulnerable kids in over 150 countries. And there’s nothing wrong with that!”   More… here.

NOTE:  Yeah, Andy… there’s LOTS wrong with that!  How about raising money for children right in your backyard?  And, while I’m a bit OT right now, here’s some information regarding UNICEF and some other big-time charities that sap change outta your pocket for all those “vulnerable” kids in OTHER countries…

  • The American Red Cross President and CEO Marsha J. Evans salary for the year was $651,957 plus expenses
  • The United Way President Brian Gallagher receives a $375,000 base salary along with numerous expense benefits
  • UNICEF CEO Caryl M. Stern receives $1,200,000 per year (100k per month) plus all expenses including a ROLLS ROYCE  Less than 5 cents of your donated dollar goes to the cause

The Salvation Army’s Commissioner Todd Bassett receives a salary of only $13,000 per year (plus housing) for managing this $2 billion dollar organization…. 96 percent of donated dollars go to the cause.

The American Legion National Commander receives a $0.00 zero salary.  Your donations go to help Veterans and their families and youth!

About Stoopid Housewives

The Real Housewives franchises have become a guilty pleasure for me and I've become intrigued by 'normal' people who would agree to put their lives on television for public display and scrutiny. What are their motives to divulge their daily routines for viewing audiences to approve, reprimand, berate, castigate, attack; basically abuse and judge? Oh, just forget about the above nonsense... the majority of these people are just stoo-pid.

Thank you, thank you SH for posting this! My mother and I were shocked as all get out when we learned these facts a while back. Everyone should know this!!

  3. DeliaMae says:

I’ve had an issue with the Red Cross for years over their “administration” costs. Greedy little jackwagons that they are. Thank you for spreading the new Ms. SH!

  5. vp says:

Sorry, SH! This is all urban legend, starting from a chain email…

The truth is, UNICEF’s Executive Director, Anthony Lake, earns $201,351 a year, according to a 2010 communique from the organization.

Salvation Army’s Commission makes around 100,000 and so on…it’s all fair in my eyes…they deserve it! Crazy rumors!

  6. WifeofAmericanLegionServiceOfficer says:

Well I am 100% sure that the National Commander for the American Legion gets paid not one cent and all the money donated goes to *Veterans and their families* ..that’s not an urban legend..that is a fact! That’s who we give our money to…have been for over 20 years.

American Legion is a great organization. My father is a member as was my grandfather.

    • Tuzentswurth says:

The local American Legion here donates their kitchen to use 100% free for the Meals on Wheels program to provide meals for the elderly. :-)
      Wonderful

I like the Salvation Army the best, then the United Way, they try to keep a lot of the money in your community.

    • Cyn1 says:

Your better off giving your money directly to the charity you want to support than going through United Way.

  8. madepiley says:

I found a charity that Andy would LOOOOVE

  9. Cyn1 says:

There really are so many wonderful organizations that donate all there time and where 100 percent of what you give goes to those they serve. Most are local and you can always take a few minutes to check out any charity online for ratings.

My hubs was the president of our AL for 3 years before he deployed to Iraq and I can testify …all is 100% and that is about a 20+ hour a week job. Love the sally too!

  11. Get Real Mel! says:

Thank you for the info. We were just discussing UNICEF this weekend.

  12. Sunlight says:

Thank you SH for that info!

I love the Salvation Army – have donated to them for a long time. Years ago, the firm where I worked had a big United Way drive. They came to us individually and really pushed us to get automatic withdrawals from our paychecks. Well, I pushed back – I already gave to charities that I liked. They acted like I was stingy.

The United Way is just a middleman – and they suck up a lot of the dollars that could be going directly to the charities they are supposed to help. Not just the nat’l director, but each office has its own expenses for staff, rent for the space, etc etc. Sorry but the United Way is for lazy people who want to feel good about themselves and don’t want to be responsible with their own money by choosing a charity carefully.

We need to step up & do our own research. If the charity you like doesn’t have info easily available, get suspicious. Another charity I regularly donate to is Food for the Poor – 96% of their revenue goes to program services – only 4% goes to admin etc.

Use Charity Navigator to check out a charity. Pick out one or two or three – then regularly give to them – even if it’s $5 a month (which doesn’t even cover the cost of lunch). It can make a real difference!
