What is wrong with this family?! It’s gotta be the most dysfunctional nutters in Jersey. And they dare judge…um, anyone???
I wouldn’t be surprised if it was just because they didn’t want people to associate them with the show. But included Chris because they are business partners.

Chris was not the only Laurita family member mentioned. Anthony, Jaime and their sister Anne were mentioned. The family went out of their way to name specific family members. They could have just said many aunts and uncles.
At 25?! Why? How?
Not necessarily indicative of anything in not mentioning Dina and Carolyn in obituary. Aren’t they a group of 11 siblings? More than Carolyn and Dina are missing from the count so maybe whoever wrote this up didn’t have a full family background so not ready to rush to conclusions. If I counted correctly, an additional 3 siblings are also left out and I think two of them are the sisters we saw once on an episode of RHONJ.
But family members write the obits, don’t they? They would have the names of their own family members. They supposedly haven’t spoken in 12 years. So, it’s quite possible the sisters had no real relationship with the boy.
I was just about to write that. The parents had to have written that.
No mention of the Laurita grandparents either.
My condolences, however belated, to the family. My greatest fear is losing one of my children.

Man Caro really was full of it when she said her family are thick as thieves. They are just the closest and tightest family. Now that I think about it maybe she really meant thieves for real? And how could she and Dino keep a fight like theirs from mama Laurita if they are so tight a family. Sounds like the Manzos have out lied Tree and her family by miles. Dina is always tweeting about having her parents over for dinner. Also, the Laurita parents seem divided too.
Dina’s mother vacations with Dina while Dina’s father spends time with Caroline and Chris. Jacqueline tweeted during the summer about an spontaeous (sp) trip to Atlantic City that included grandpa Laurita – Grandma went to the hamptons with the older sister Cookie.
Another interesting bit of news…Dina’s older sister Cookie lives her while the other sister Frannie lives with Caroline.
I would hope the death of their nephew would have opened the door for a reconciliation? I found the daugther Michele on facebook and she is friends with all of them.

I am a loyal reader and I sincerely don’t understand why this article was written. Why post a picture of people who have never appeared on screen and mention the most heartbreaking time of their lives?
SH posts all news/hw related things. This tragedy was 3 years ago and on the internet. Its not like she made it up. Do you read about shana taylor ford hughes and her hubs? Or is all death off limits? Its relevant bc shes showing relationships and history and facts… If you want just the roses, and just the cast, perhaps stick to bravo blogs.

Caro was so intent on chastising Tree about not making up to her family and yet she doesnt seem to follow her own advice. Stacey i believe the point is that obviously there are family issues that Caro hides and yet flings mud at others for not being honest and up front. I see no shame in offering information that some of us not living in Jersey can read and get some insight as to why certain people are full of it.
I lost my daughter when she was 19 and I have no Idea what the obituary said or if I even wrote it. I don’t think I mentioned my sisters or my parents who knows who cares all that mattered is that we were burying the love of our life. Our family took no notice because for them it was about consoling us and saying final good byes.
Cyn, my condolences. Thank you for sharing your thoughts during that terrible time. Your example makes sense but I think the point SH is/was trying to make is that if the family were ‘thick as thieves’ someone would’ve handled this, or helped handle this, for them.

Belladee – very sad indeed. It appears as though Caroline’s brother and wife went out of their way to name only loved family members. A simply survived by many aunts and uncles and grandparents would have been appropriate.
Of course, Caroline, dina and their mother wrote online condolences highlighting the estrangement too. Very sad that even with the loss of such a young vibrant life families still can’t come together.

It appears as though Joseph and Adele Laurita family wanted to name selected family members. Their loss their right. Also, Caroline, Dina and their mother Nettie highlighted their estrangement in their online condolence messages.

They mentioned how they remember him as a little boy. And they heard he was great guy. Dina said she was 10 when was born. Very sad

Yes, very telling that Chris and Jacqueline have a good relationship with all the Lauritas.
Jacqueline wrote in her blog that Chris helps out many of his family members and that I believe. According to Ashley’s grandfather’s public facebook page, ASk Colonel Grippe, AShely has tremedous respect for Chris but does not always show it. He said they are very different off camera and get along much better off camera…no surprise there. He said they don’t show the hugs, thoughtful talks and parental guidance that Ashley does listen too. He ends with the comment about that not being good for ratings.

Just watched the trailer for this season and I have a question. I understand why the dressing up, party scenes in Punta Cana were cut in light of the whole fight and legal issues thing. In the trailer, Kathy is crying and saying to her daughter “the doctors think you might have cancer.” I had hoped to see more, but don’t recall this being on any of the episodes. I hope Victoria is alright, seems like a sweet kid.
Kathy Wakile said in her Bravo blog that Victoria’s tumor was benign. And Victoria said she did not have cancer. Thank God for miracles as Victoria is indeed a sweet kid.

Like the Laurita’s, I come from a family with 11 children. I have five sisters and four brothers, one brother is deceased. I don’t make too big of a deal when it is revealed that Caroline and/or Dina don’t have a relationship with one or more of their siblings. Much as I’d like to have a fantastic relationship with all of my sibs, it is nearly impossible to do. Most of us live in different states. All of us work full time and have limited vacation time so we don’t have the luxury of traveling to see every brother or sister. Because of those factors, over the years I have learned that I have to concentrate my energies and attention on those sibs who reciprocate and do the same with me. Sometimes I’m closer to one or two sibs and don’t see or talk to the others much. Other times I end up spending a year or two being closer to others. I try as hard as I can to remain close with all of them, but it just isn’t possible. I have one brother that is a bit off his rocker and for the good of “my” family (hubby and kids), I have to avoid contact with him at all costs. All I know is that large families have a special dynamic that is hard for small families to comprehend. Just because we don’t have the ability to be close and have daily contact with all of our sibs doesn’t mean we don’t love them and treasure the rare times we are all able to be in one place. Unfortunately that doesn’t happen often. Another thing I want to mention is that in a family of 11 children there is room for one of everything. I consider our family very lucky that no one has ended up in jail, prison, or a mental hospital. Statistically that should have happened, but has not. Instead of judging my sibs I choose to accept them for who they are. I spend a lot of time wishing that we could all be as close as we were when we were kids, but that isn’t realistic.
Your situation is different. You all mind your business and go about your lives within your own family (husband, children). It seems with Caroline she needs to be the head of the Laurita family and they all have to follow her advice and rules. It isn’t that their lives are too busy to get together it is the result of meddling and fighting. I am sure every women that married a brother of Caroline has had problems with her.
And her played out, “I have an open door policy…” what she’s really trying to say is it’s not her fault the others aren’t there. Everyone’s welcome… Even KimG? Oh wait
My parents are both from families that large; I completely get what you are saying. When the tragedies do happen, though, the obituaries always include everyone, even if it is just to say “and many aunts and uncles,” or “many and nephews.”
