Real Housewives: Andy… Are You Fibbin’???

Andy Cohen, head poo-bah, bigshot, big kahuna and overseer of all things Bravo, has recently stated that there will be no additions to the Real Housewives franchise… he’s done!

Is Andy tryin’ to trick us???  ’Cause it looks like Andy’s fibbin’ and tryin’ to trick us! With Miami looking like it will do a DC disappearing act, there will be room in Andy’s Housewives House for another franchise… and Las Vegas is gearing up to get comfy right there in the livingroom of Andy’s HW House…

UPDATE:  DC IS cancelled.  Real Housewives of Miami will be back for a second season… no details yet.

Do I look like I would lie to you?  Yes, Andy.

The long-rumored “Real Housewives of Las Vegas” reality show is back on the frontburner, with a side of delicious dish.  Local talent agent Jacki Baskow confirmed the rumors on Tuesday:  Auditions are set for Saturday.

Guess who’s hoping to crash the party?  Baskow is naming names.  Drama queen Alicia Jacobs, ousted this week as longtime entertainment reporter at KSNV-TV, Channel 3, is in the mix, Baskow said.  ”She’s been invited,” Baskow added. “Alicia has a lot of drama going. They like drama.”

                                                          Alicia Jacobs

Also under consideration said Baskow: Wayne Newton’s publicist Tricia McCrone, former Rao’s executive chef Carla Pellegrino, and “X” Girls producer Angela Sampras.  The list goes on. Baskow isn’t ready to identify some of the prospective candidates but she offered some hints.

Tricia McCrone and chef Carla Pellegrino

She said the media-shy (for now) group includes: a prominent businesswoman, a marketing executive at a major hotel, a prominent woman whose husband is a hotel executive, and the owner of a yogurt chain who is a loan shark on the side.

Baskow, who is celebrating her 35th year as owner and CEO of Baskow & Associates, is working on the project with veteran producer Rick Garson, who has produced numerous major events including two New Year’s Eve productions in Las Vegas called “America’s Party,” with Fox.  Garson’s wife, Carolyn, is also a candidate, Baskow said.

Bravo reportedly passed on a Las Vegas version of “Housewives” a couple of years ago.

NOTE:  There is also a Real Housewives of Toronto in the works… for real!  Will post those details soon…

UPDATE… 9-5-11:  Andy has stated that there will be NO further Housewives franchises.  The Las Vegas Housewives franchise DID NOT make it through the Bravo reviewing process… there will be NO “Real Housewives of Las Vegas” produced by Bravo.

About Stoopid Housewives

The Real Housewives franchises have become a guilty pleasure for me and I've become intrigued by 'normal' people who would agree to put their lives on television for public display and scrutiny. What are their motives to divulge their daily routines for viewing audiences to approve, reprimand, berate, castigate, attack; basically abuse and judge? Oh, just forget about the above nonsense... the majority of these people are just stoo-pid.
